Actually we loved everything about this place. Rooms are excellent, new, modern and well maintained! Staff is extremely helpful and friendly! Food is just amazing. Be ready for big portions of delicious breakfast. And location- just next to trials going to nine arches and Little Adam’s pick.

We stayed in Ella at The Green Door for 3 nights and had the best time. The room was very light, spacious and clean. The whole team was amazing and made sure our stay was perfect. The location was ideal, since it’s very close to the Nine Arches Bridge and the Little Adams Peak. We would definitely recommend staying at The Green Door!

Our stay at this hotel was truly exceptional. The staff is a huge asset – incredibly helpful, always smiling, and eager to offer advice or assist in organizing the stay. The European-style breakfasts were an absolute delight – several menu options to choose from, all served in a restaurant with pleasant music and beautiful décor. The room we stayed in was wonderfully cozy, designed with great attention to detail – candles, additional lighting, vases, and other small touches created the perfect atmosphere for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The room was fully equipped with everything you might need – a safe, hairdryer, umbrellas, ironing board, and iron, plus a large TV with a Blu-ray player and a collection of films for guests to enjoy. This is definitely a place worth visiting – and even more worth coming back to!

There is a small gap under the door which means some bugs can get in, we removed them with no problem, but would be good to plug the gap with a brush or draft excluder.

The Green Door was a great find for our stay in Ella, absolutely stunning room, beautifully decorated but also with all the facilities you might need to be comfortable. Very clean and in a gorgeous location with a beautiful tree view from the bedroom window. The adjoined cafe had great vibes, a beautiful view of the trees as well, and delicious food. Staff were absolutely lovely as well. We highly recommend this place! Also it's only 5 minutes walk to the start of the Nine Arches Bridge trail on one side and 12 minutes walk to the start of Little Adam's Peak trailhead on the other side. And the city centre is about 20 minutes walk or an 8 minute tuktuk away.

Very nice and new room, all very comfortable and luxurious. The breakfast was very good, very nice and helpful guys working there! Highly recommended when you don’t want to stay at the busy mainstreet in Ella, even though, the city center is only 10 minutes by walk. Perfect spot to reach directly the paths to Little Adams Peak and 9 Arch Bridge.

If there was anything I could suggest for improvement, it’s that the music in the cafe is turned down during sleeping hours. Didn’t bother us so much as we got up early every morning but if you wanted a sleep in, you may be woken by the music.

We absolutely loved our stay at Green Door. Breakfast was 10/10, perks of staying under one of the best cafes in Ella. So nice to have a real barista made coffee. The pancakes were delicious, as was the eggs Benedict. The staff were always so warm and nice to chat to. Danush went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed and arranged a driver for us to Yala at a good price. The room itself was wonderful and modern. Super clean, had everything you needed. Bed was very comfortable and the blackout curtains always a win. Although you’re technically based just out of Ella town, we felt like this is actually the perfect location to all the sights. Green door is a stones throw away to Little Adams peak, a short 15 min walk to the Nine Arches Bridge and 10 min walk to Ella town. Would recommend The Green door to anyone visiting Ella.

A few small things could be improved: it would be helpful to have a safe in the room, hand towel options beyond just the two large ones, and the room entrance felt a bit awkward as it was also used for storing some items. Still, the experience was warm and thoughtful overall.

We had a great stay — the room was new, clean, and beautifully decorated. The team went out of their way to accommodate us, even preparing a takeaway breakfast for our early morning safari and handling special breakfast requests with care.

The room was very stylish, spatious, well equipped and decorated with new furniture and tech appliances too (big tv screen, speaker, blu ray player). Its conveniently located close to Ella center and the main attractions (little Adam’s peak and Nine Arches Bridge). The breakfast served in the restaurant upstairs was superb, freshly prepared and very tasty. Laundry service is also available, efficient and fast. Special thanks to Mr. Danushka who welcomed and assisted us during our stay.

Beautiful place, away from busy main street in Ella. Great views from cafe and room and near to trail for Little Adams peak and 9 arches bridge. Breakfast was delicious, and coffee was the best we've had in Sri Lanka. Excellent service, would highly recommend. Also, excellent cooking course just around the corner.

We loved our stay at The Green Door in Ella. It’s perfectly located — walking distance to town and right by Little Adam’s Peak and Nine Arches Bridge. The single-room setup gave it a private, exclusive feel. The room was spacious, well-decorated, and very comfortable, with its own entrance and all the essentials. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were warm and helpful throughout. Welcome drinks were a great touch, and the cocktails were excellent. Clean, well-maintained, and great value — highly recommended! Did I mention the views…

The Green Door is an absolutely beautiful, stylish cafe located perfectly just outside of downtown Ella and on the way to Little Adam’s Peak. The staff (regards to Danush and his whole team) is exceptionally friendly, the room has everything one might wish for (even a proper flat iron, a large Samsung Smart TV and a Yamaha Speaker). The breakfast includes a lush variety of Sri Lankan fruits, coffee / tee of choice (milk alternative: coconut milk), a fresh fruit juice and one item of the menu (e.g. pancakes, French toast, eggs Benedict, etc). The bang for your buck is as good as it gets. We are happy to come back when visiting Ella sometime in the future.

Beautiful and thoughtfully designed space. Located close to little Adam’s peak and walking distance to the nine arch bridge so not on the busiest part of Ella but still close enough to walk to the centre easily. Bathroom looks newly done, has extras including a hairdryer and ironing board, iron and bar fridge. The Windows look out onto greenery. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. Definitely would recommend.

It smelled a bit humid and stuffy in the bedroom, making the bath towels smell too. I am sure they were clean but I’d be better If they didn’t smell humid.

Perfect location, very attentive and friendly staff. The breakfast at the upstairs cafe is good, in a nice setting and clean. The room has great amenities (iron board, kettle, fridge, wardrobe) and the bathroom is clean and spacious.
