It's a great place! The owner is very welcoming and most helpful! I'd definitely stay again. It's clean, a great view, wifi is decent. Not a single bad word to say. It has everything you need. To ella it's a very short tuktuk ride. Or you can walk it. I took a lovely detour through the hills and it was amazing the view. I wish I could rate it higher than 10.

A bit far from the city centre but thats the compromise you have to make to enjoy the serenity. Host can book you a tuk tuk to the center for around 500 one way

The service was excellent, and I felt that I was taken care of during my stay. Everything that I needed was attended to. The room was clean and spacious; I specifically loved the smell of their linens and the view of the mountains from the room. I highly recommend this place for your stay in Ella. It's a bit far from the town, approximately a 10-minute drive or a 30-minute walk. It's ideal if you prefer a quiet time, and they can arrange a tuk-tuk if you need one.

Very beautiful property with amazing views! The staff is so friendly and forthcoming. Booked the dorm and ended up being the only guest so had the whole room to myself. Obviously, that’s not a given. The included breakfast was very generous and tasty and served outside in the sun.

We were so glad to have booked The Cubes for our stay in Ella. All the staff are so wonderful and make you feel really comfortable from the moment you walk in. Our room was comfortable, clean and had such a beautiful view from the balcony. The food was also incredible and the kitchen staff always ensure you are well fed! The location being a short drive from the main strip means that it's much quieter than the town centre with travel to and from being a breeze via tuktuk. A special shout out to The Cubes tuktuk driver Tharindu - he picked us up from Ella station and ensured he was waiting there for us when we arrived, keeping in touch as we reached the stations before Ella. It was really easy to arrange transport to and from Ella centre through him and he was always so so lovely! We would definitely stay here again in the future!

Not in city center - 5min tuktuk - would not say it is a con, as the place is quiet with a beautiful view.

Very nice place with friendly staff. We stayed in the dorm, space and convient room + the shower/washrooms were clean and hot water! Breakfast in the garden under the sun was a PLUS! Would definitely recommend the Cubes.

The Wifi doesn’t work very well in the room - in the restaurant area the wifi is fine.

Uber and Pickme drivers are not likely to come up the hill. Due to this reason the transportation costs are a bit higher than in the rest of Sri Lanka. Still' hotel staff will always be able to arrange a ride

Normal electrical plug in shower, an interesting idea, not very safety conscious. Personally would have preferred to stay in town as Ella is great fun but I made this choice and it was fine.

Everything was good to be honest.

Overall just a wonderful experience. Staff absolutely delightful, so kind and helpful. Rooms are simple but spotless, everything you need. View is amazing. Breakfast really good and generous. Very good ratio price vs what you get in general. The staff will help you with everything you need, including getting to town cheaply. We rented a scooter which I recommend if you can.
