A stunning historical property in an excellent location with the most attentive and kind staff. Beautiful rooms and pool area. Lovely dining and reading rooms. The chef creates the most beautiful breakfasts and evening meals. It was the best hotel stay in Sri Lanka for me.

We loved every minute of our five-night stay at this beautiful boutique hotel right opposite the green and wall of Galle Fort. From the moment we arrived (frozen lollipops for the kids — such a delightful touch!) the service was flawless. The staff were unbelievably kind and attentive, offering helpful local tips and even organising a magical evening where we released turtles — a highlight for the whole family. The rooms were spacious, luxurious and immaculately presented — some overlooking the pool, others upstairs — and all felt like a real treat after travelling around Sri Lanka. The beds gave us the best night’s sleep we’d had in the country, and rooms were serviced twice a day which kept everything perfect. Attention to detail was exceptional, from extra cushions to thoughtful little extras that made us feel completely pampered. The pool is a true oasis in the centre of the hotel — a perfect spot to cool off from the heat. Our children loved feeding the friendly monkeys that visited the garden each day. Breakfast was extensive and delicious (the French toast and pancakes were a big hit), and we also had several lunches there — tasty, well-priced and consistent. If you’re visiting Galle Fort and want a beautiful, comfortable stay with outstanding service and family-friendly touches, we can’t recommend this hotel highly enough.

Breakfast was perfect 👌 delicious fresh fruit and hot breakfast’s were delicious with impressive presentation. The staff were all attentive and obliging, nothing was too much trouble. Beds were super comfy, close to all shops, cafes and restaurants.

The shower was a bit wonky in water pressure, that was scary. Also there needed to be bed side power points for charging. The breakfast could be better - in terms of quality of bread.

Taru Villa in Galle exceeded my expectations! The villa was beautifully designed, with stunning architecture and lush greenery. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring a comfortable stay. The location was perfect for exploring Galle's historic fort and enjoying the local culture. Highly recommend for a relaxing and memorable getaway in Sri Lanka!

The villa has several communal sitting areas that are all very comfortable and beautifully furnished. The garden/ pool area is peaceful and even attracted a kingfisher bird. Our room and bathroom was large and the bed was perfect. The Sri Lankan breakfast option was delicious. The staff were attentive and always smiling.

When we arrived they said they served wine and beer. They gave us a wine list of about 30 different wines and all bar one had an unavailable sticker on them. Why bother? I would rather they said they don’t sell drinks. They also don’t have a common bathroom on the property. We had requested a late checkout but as the property was full there was no bathroom for us to use to change clothes for our flight home. If we had known that we would have booked another hotel where this was possible. In the end we had to book another hotel for day use just to shower and change before our flight home.

This charming villa in the heart of Galle Fort felt like a hidden gem. The colonial architecture and tasteful decor provided a cozy yet elegant ambiance. The staff were incredibly attentive, making us feel right at home. Enjoying a delicious breakfast by the pool was the perfect start to our day exploring the fort.

Piece of Paradise within Galle Fort. One of the few places with a pool and slightly off center means quiet, unique, private and exclusive. Outstanding service and delicious breakfast! Would go back in a heartbeat!
