The only small downside is that it’s a bit far from the town and restaurants, but if you don’t mind the distance, it’s a great place to relax.

We really enjoyed our stay at this spacious villa. The room was large and comfortable, and the whole property feels like a big farm with plenty of open space. t feels nicely quiet and secluded, yet the beach is only about 20 minutes away. A perfect place to relax and enjoy the calm atmosphere.

There was an issue with the electricity during the night. The a/c stopped working when other electrical devices were charging and vice versa. We ended up charging our devices with a powerbank.

Friendly staff, big and comfortable room. Ideal for people that looking to stay away from crowds and big hotels. Few minutes away from the beach with a tuk tuk.

We missed roti and hoppers at breakfast, so it would be nice if that were an option instead of toast.

The property is lovely, thoughtfully restored and comfortable. Our room was very spacious and a nice space to relax. Quiet and a little away from the main Nilaveli strip, being lagoon side. We had rented a scooter so no issues getting about. We didn't interact much with the on site staff but they were kind, and Fazil, the owner, was responsive on WhatsApp and promptly helped us out with any questions. Also decent breakfast coffee!

We were at Surya Lagoon for 3 nights in April 2025 and had a wonderful stay. The villa, originally built end of the 50's, has been beautifully renovated while preserving its original features and is on a huge plot of land with the lagoon on one side and the Trinco-Pullmudai road on the other. It is about 15 mins walk to Nilaveli Beach Hotel/Pigeon Island where our dive shop was, so was a perfect location. But, you could get to the main beach strip and even Irrakandy bridge in a tuk easily. There are 5 en suite rooms and common areas including our favourite, the dinning area set in a semi-open space overlooking the back yard. The manager, Shiyam and Samar, the caretaker/cook, were fantastic and along with the owner who was always available through WhatsApp, helped make our stay very comfortable. We loved waking up to the sounds of the birds and also being greeted by their resident rescue dogs and overall were very happy with our stay. Thank you so much for having us.

Fazil is a very accommodating host, we had to check out early and he accommodated us without any problems. Communication was always very quick and uncomplicated, even though he is in America. His hosts are also extremely accommodating and very nice. The breakfast is plentiful and very, very tasty. Here we had the first very tasty filter coffee in Sri Lanka. The two dogs and the cat are also very friendly. The accommodation is a bit out of the way, but on the main road. It is still very quiet at night. If you are looking for a quiet place, this is the place for you.

Sigiriya was our last stop in Sri Lanka after four weeks of holidays with our three children, and we could not thought of a better place to finish our trip. The place is very comfortable, has a beautiful view on the lion rock, and is SO quiet! That is exactly what we wanted! Plus, Suriya and his lovely family welcomed us as we were part of them. We instantly felt a connexion with them and our children loved the stay there. As a bonus, the breakfast is absolutely amazing such whatever our hosts cooked ☺️

We had to leave...

All I can say is wow. One of the best places we have stayed during our 2 month travel in Sri Lanka. Unfortunately I had become very unwell during this time but there was no better place to recover. The accommodation was stylish, luxurious and we relaxed immediately upon arrival. Exploring the old coconut farm, lagoon and finding coconut crab shells was such an adventure for my four year old (and the adults also)! The beaches are accessible by Tuk tuk or scooter (the staff on-site helped us organise these), and were the best beaches we saw during our stay. The water was warm, calm and beach lovers bar is a MUST! The staff on site were above and beyond accommodating. My daughter immediately trusted them and found friendship. The chef was warm, kind and cooked exceptional breakfasts. The tame peacocks on the property are a bonus!

This is fraud! while booking it says you book a whole villa, instead you get only one small, dark room and even have to share one table with strangers at breakfast. The price for getting only one room instead of a whole house is too high!
