They weren’t ready for us when we arrived and we thought it was going to go wrong with the booking, however we waited half an hour and it was worth the wait - they even offered us a discount

Room was really big, balcony and little kitchen, immaculate kept, huge 4 poster bed - extremely good value for money and were flexible on our check out time

I am brutally honest, and there was genuinely not a thing to critique or criticise.

The room was extremely clean and stocked with complimentary water, tea and coffee. We made us of the pool everyday which was nice and refreshing. The hotel is only around a 250m walk from the main road where there is a great restaurant called the Happy Spoon. The room was also very modern with great bathroom facilities and equipped with efficient air conditioning and fan. Would 1000% recommend and stay again, the hosts were so helpful with any help we needed via WhatsApp and in person. A nice balcony also to sit outside was an added bonus also. The property is a good 15 minutes from Turtle Beach, there didn't seem to be shops around. Shame that there was no fridge in the room.

This was an exceptional stay, and so cheap. The room is beautifully decorated and clean. In fact I would say this is the only property in Sri Lanka that felt cosy, it had pretty lights, a balcony with table and chairs and a proper shower with glass. Loved the pool, although small it's really nice and you can relax on the beach loungers in the courtyards. There are also washing machines but we didn't use them.

Nothing. this place is very homely and perfect all around.

This place is just perfect. Well appointed comfortable rooms. Kitchen is also just right for late night snacks of breakfast. Cutlery and cooking equipment is also spot on right down to the sharp knife. Bed was an 11 out of 10 with super comfortable pillows and mattress. Staff are super helpful and attentive. When they cleaned my room they even put chilled beer mugs in the fridge. Rooms and brand new and supper clean and well thought out right down to tasteful useful furniture. Excellent bathroom and shower. Balcony is also superb. Definitely worth a 10 our of 10.

Have to take in and then take out table and chairs from balcony to have breakfast, because no chairs or table at room, but it’s not a big problem. When was not too hot at morning we had our breakfast at balcony.

The hotel was extremely comfortable, clean and well located for all the best restaurants and cafes in Hikka. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going out of their way to sort out a mechanic for us when our tuktuk wouldn't start!

We enjoyed so much our stay at Surf N summer that we have decided to stay longer. Peaceful, clean and close to everything ( beach, markets, shops) with a quick walk (3 minutes). Staying here on the jungle side you’re able to see monkeys, chipmunks, bats, birds and monitor lizards in your morning walk to the Main Street! It’s an exceptional location if you like a quiet stay!

Everything was perfect, nothing to complain about

We had a great stay in Surf N Summer! Great location, just few minutes walk to the main street and ocean. Room is clean and spacious enough for 2 people. Private kitchen is a big plus! Owner helped us to organise transfer from/to the airport and Villa attended was always available if we had any requests. Definitely recommend it and we will come back here again.

On the last days we had problems with the internet, the landlord tried to deal with it but the problems continued so we had to buy a sim card with mobile internet.

The hotel has a great location, it is 7 mins walking to the beach, 5 mins walking to the main road, where are a lot of shops, cafes, etc. The place is quite nice and quiet with the jungles around. You can see monkeys, squirrels, parrots, peacocks around.. The room was nice and clean, kitchenette had a stove, fridge and some equipment like teapot, dishes, frying pan, usual pan, etc. Since we did not cook except of breakfast, the kitchen equipment was enough for us. We could also use the washing machine and drier in the common area. The photos that are on booking are true to life. (It happens rarely at SriLanka) The stuff was super helpful.

One small suggestion: it would be nice to have a small fridge (i.e. mini bar size) inside the room, perhaps in the future it could be offered for an extra fee.

We stayed for a week and would gladly return for a longer stay! The room was spacious and comfortable, equipped with AC, hot water, a table (perfect for remote work), and a small kitchen. The location was ideal, just a short walk from the surf spots. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful—we’re so grateful for their warm and welcoming attitude. Highly recommend!

Great privacy room The quality standard of this room was the highest during my 1-month trip in Sri Lanka. The room is spacious and well-equipped with drawers and cupboards, AC, and a really clean bathroom with both hot and cold water. The location is fantastic, just a 5-minute walk from the beach, and it's really quiet, ensuring a restful stay. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for comfort and convenience!

Location is great, 5 min from the main street but in the very quiet neighbourhood. Room was clean, beautiful and comfy, mattress and pillows are comfortable to sleep, staff is friendly and ready to help with everything. Wifi is good for work (I needed it for video calls) and room has the desk which was also nice to have.

One of the best places we have stayed in so far on our trip in Sri Lanka by a long way. The accommodation is spotlessly clean, with very modern facilities. The rooms look exactly as shown in photos. The location is also a 10/ 10 only a very short walk from the main road where there is many restaurants, shops and cafes as well as the beach only being 30 seconds from this road. The price of this accommodation is exceptionally good, they certainly could charge a lot more.
