Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Silence Paradise is the best place we have ever stayed on vacation. Perfect location. 5 min walk to Silent Beach. No more than 10 min walk to Goyambokka Beach. You can also visit the neighboring beaches on the coast. It is the beaches of this part of the island that are truly considered the most beautiful! The guesthouse is located away from the road. No traffic noise. You can open the window and enjoy the sounds of nature, a real tropical jungle. A live zoo in the open air. Almost every day you can meet chipmunks, peacocks, monitor lizards, mongooses, parrots, toucans, flying foxes and, of course, langurs. You can watch the magnificent picturesque sunsets from the terrace while sipping your favorite fresh juice. A real reboot from everyday work awaits you. An atmosphere of complete peace and relaxation. But the most important treasure of this place is the people who are ready to help you with all your questions. The owner and managers are incredibly warm, responsive, friendly and creative people we have ever met! They made our vacation unforgettable! You can pre-order breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Incredibly delicious food will be waiting for you on the table! This was our first time in Sri Lanka and they showed us everything, explained everything, advised us many life hacks for the most comfortable pastime. Within walking distance from the guesthouse you will find shops, restaurants and fruit shops for any budget. Not far from the guesthouse is the town of Tangalle. There are familiar shops, a fruit market and a small port, where in the morning you can buy the freshest seafood at low prices. If you are traveling by bike, you can safely leave it on the territory of Silence Paradise. You will also have free Wi-Fi. Hot water in the room. Kitchen on the ground floor, where you can cook your own meals if you want. Each bed has high orthopedic mattresses. Believe me, your back will thank you! We can say with complete confidence that the high rating on Booking.com

AustraliaI really enjoyed staying here, the owner and crew were just so nice and friendly. The bed and shower was the best I have had in my 4 weeks in Sri Lanka. The location is excellent, an easy 5 minute stroll down to the beach with other beaches nearby. Room was clean, spacious and everything that was needed, even had a common fridge and washing machine that could use. Great stay, I recommend. Thanks.

RussiaSilence Paradise is an incredible place. It is just a short distance from Sri Lanka's most gorgeous beach, Silence Beach. The rooms at the hotel are spacious, with great big beds, with new mattresses. The room has everything you need, air conditioning, fan and shower with hot water. The hotel is small, cozy. Every day from the terrace you can observe guests: peacocks, varans, squirrels, toucans, flying foxes, parrots. But the most important feature of the hotel is its owner - Samantha. He is an amazingly kind and hospitable host. Samantha welcomes every guest as a dear friend. Your every request will be heard. The host will make your stay at his hotel unforgettable. You will feel at home and will definitely want to come back here again. ගොඩාක් ස්තූතියි Samantha!
