Pool could have had more seats / sunbeds. Breakfast had limited options for those that have dietary requirements such as gluten / vegan.

The room decor needs to be updated. The orange colour is ugly. Maybe change it to a green or blue colour it would be more fitting. The pool needs renovating.

The restaurant and bar area is gorgeous. We got to feed the ducks in the pond. The bed was comfortable.

The only downside was that the outdoor areas felt a little tired and could benefit from some refurbishment.

We stayed at Sigiriya Village Hotel for two nights and found it to be a great base for climbing Sigiriya Rock, which we did at sunrise—highly recommended! We booked two rooms (one double and one twin), both of which were clean and comfortable, with spacious bathrooms. One of the rooms did have a slight damp smell, but overall the accommodation was pleasant. The main building with the bar and restaurant was very nice, and breakfast was buffet-style with plenty of choice, all well prepared. We didn’t dine at the restaurant in the evening as we wanted to try some of the local eateries within walking distance, but we did enjoy light bites by the pool for lunch, which were very good. The pool was lovely, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. A nice bonus was the free head massage included with each room, which was very relaxing. The only downside was that the outdoor areas felt a little tired and could benefit from some refurbishment. That said, the peaceful setting and proximity to Sigiriya Rock made it a great choice for our visit.

Nothing particularly, the pool changing area could be improved?

Location was eye-wateringly stunning looking up at the rock from the pool or the dining area. Accommodation is very private in lodges/cabins dispersed throughout the spectacular unspoiled nature-filled grounds. Service and food choice excellent too.

-As mentioned in other reviews, the price feels quite high compared to the actual condition of the hotel -The rooms had a musty smell -Breakfast gets crowded with tour groups, who seem not to be hotel guests - not the most intimate atmosphere

-Exceptional location, just off the main road with great restaurants nearby and close to key attractions -Lovely pool to enjoy the hot days -Friendly staff (special shoutout to the pool guy — he was so sweet!) -Large property, so the rooms set further back offer privacy and peace -Some entertainment in the evenings, occasionally with live music or a singer

Room was worn. Aircon was terrible (very noisy and only one setting). Bathroom door didn’t close.

Limited sun loungers at the pool

Sigiriya Village accommodated us when our original booking fell through. We booked last minute and were grateful for the friendly service and helpful staff. The rooms are quite dated but clean and tidy. Good choice for breakfast.

We felt our room needed modernising eg with more power outlets and brighter lighting. It also had a strange smell. The hotel seemed to be set up to cater for large tour groups. As independent tourists eating from the menu as opposed to the buffet we waited a long time to get our meal and the food was served luke warm. The price of the dishes on the menu was unclear as there was just a statement at the end saying tax and service charge would be added without saying what these percentages were. (Incidentally after a lot of inquiries we discovered they are 18% and 10%).

The view from the pool area was spectacular. The pool was very large and clean and the pool man very friendly. The grounds had a lot of mature trees and were well maintained. The rooms were large and the bed comfortable.

The cabins are a bit lacking in natural light, but they’re in the jungle so that’s not surprising.

Gorgeous accommodation in its own bit of jungle. Beautiful pool with stunning views of Lion Rock, the cabins are spacious and well designed, the restaurant and bar are also large and fabulous.

I personally found the restaurant too busy with groups but it was a very busy time of year It would have been great if guided wildlife walks could have been arranged around the grounds .

Beautiful grounds. Great location. Large room which was very quiet and very comfortable. Staff were very kind and friendly. Buffet breakfast and evening meal both varied and very good. Hotel had a lot of guests but the grounds and the set up of the rooms meant you still feel quite private. Many large groups when I visited in February which made meal times feel very busy. I ate out locally a couple of evenings which was fine. Live musicians , different ones each evening which I enjoyed ,
