Hansi and Shen were so lovely and polite. The food at the restaurant is excellent. We also hired some bicycles from them, and they gave good advice re when best to complete the hikes. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable enough.

We had a really nice time at Sigiri Shen Residence. The rooms are cozy and clean, the hosts are amazing and helpful people. The breakfast is very nice and dinner is also great and home made (we had the best Kottu of our trip :) ). Would absolutely recommend!

Great stay with very friendly people. I could organize a safari in advance so that we could start almost immediately after our arrival. The breakfast was delicious. You can have dinner as well, which is very delicious too.

Rooms close to the road might be too noisy for light sleepers. No chairs in the room, but a comfortable terrace with chairs.

After a couple of nights, I was moved into the new rooms away from the road. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet.

Everything was more than perfect!

This was the best accomodation we had in Sri Lanka. It was perfectly clean, even though the upper floor was in construction, and it had everything we needed. The location is an oasis of peace and you will wish to stay longer! The family also cooks, and the food was out of this world, we enjoyed every bite and every sip of freshly squeezed fruit juices. We especially recommend maracuja and make sure to try their kottu! Besides all that, they were extremely kind and helped us with everything. They arranged us an elephant tour in a heartbeat, our driver arrived in 15mins. They also arranged us a tuktuk drives and they arranged our clothes to be washed in their neighbourhood. The lady that did it not only washed, but also ironed and folded it perfectly. It was the end of our trip so you can imagine the joy we had from this. We cannot wait to come back to this lovely place, because Im sure we will!

The food in their restaurant was excellent and the breakfast was a great start to the day. Everyone was super kind, helpful and friendly.

We had a lovely time in Shen Residence, the hosts are welcoming and friendly, and the breakfast is amazing with lots of fresh fruit. Location is perfect, very close to restaurants and bars, and to the main attractions of the areas, but also very peaceful and quiet. Highly recommend!

I’ve had a lovely time in this hotel, it did not feel like just a place to sleep in between all the touristy stuff to do, it was part of the experience visiting Sigiriya. It’s actually so nice and comfortable just chilling in the hotel. The room is spacious, absolutely spotlessly clean, and super comfortable. The balcony outside is a perfect hangout, and at night it’s beautiful to look at the moon giving light to the place. Shen is the absolute legend of a host, incredibly nice, thoughtful, was kind enough to bring me in a scooter night - an experience I’ll never forget - and was always kind to share suggestions on the best route to follow during my planned activities. Breakfast was sooo soooo good, I wish I had a bigger stomach to be able to eat more. Highly recommend this place, it’s super close to restaurants, main must sees and all, I’m a walker and consider all of this walking distance, but it’s all super close.

Experienced a couple of electrical outages - out of control of property - but Shen provided lights right away.

Shen was completely attentive to all needs while staying at the property. He has bikes for use which frees guests to roam around the moat and further.

Shen, his sister, and family were beyond kind and warm in their hospitality. They have a beautiful property where we stayed in a spacious and clean room that had comfortable seating outside our front door. Food at their restaurant was authentic and delicious with reasonable prices. We were able to walk to town from the property, but Shen was readily accessible and available to obtain and arrange for transfer to all the sites, including our private car transfer to Kandy. We would book this place again without hesitation.

And the restaurant there also serves delicious food at local prices. The rooms are very large and really comfortable.
