Lack of AC meant the room was very warm during the day, but this could be countered using the ceiling fan and keeping a window open at night (bed equipped with mosquito net)

Lovely beachfront property 20 min walk outside of the main town so nice and quiet, with good access to the sea. Restaurant on site had lovely view over the bay. Staff were very friendly and helpful, including local recommendations

We liked the relaxed atmosphere of the area very much. Also a lot of good restaurants were nearby, and the restaurant belonging to the place was fine too. It was fantastic being that close to the see sitting at your own terrace. The beach is beautiful, and so is the lagoon.

Shehani Bungalows was really nice! The younger guy that works there is incredibly nice, the breakfast is great and the bungalow is on the beach. To swim, you have to walk a few minutes but still very close.

The location of this property was THE ABSOLUTE BEST we had in Sri Lanka. It felt like a dream waking up every day and having a beach that looked. Like a private beach on my feet. The host was amazing super helpful and kind with us. The breakfast was delicious the rooms really nice and the nature breathtaking. Thank you for everything I will forever call this place my personal paradise.

Bathroom needs a bit of maintenance

Super nice place directly at the beach. The owner and the manager were so lovely and welcoming. We felt a bit like home. Originally planned to stay two days , we ended up being “tangualled” and styled for 10 days! Shehani was perfect for us and also the beach and the whole village with not many people were so relaxed. Well kept garden and great breakfast.

Shehani is a very cute little place on the beach. Very quiet and peaceful. Walking distance to many restaurants and bars on the beach. Definitely 10 stars for hospitality. We had some trouble with a moto that we rented from another Homestay and were stranded. We were helped immediately by the Shehani team. We felt very taken care of during our stay there.

Our best stay during our time in Sri Lanka. This budget guesthouse was really a lot for the money. Staff was super friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The room had everything we needed, two beds, ac, fan, working desk, 2 showers (one hot and one cold). This place is right by the beach in a chill and quiet area of Tangalle just 10 min walk from the centre. Also great sri lankan breakfast here!

I would suggest that you offer filtered water or water from big gallon for free. Drinking water should be available all the time free of charge. Besides that it's neither ecological to buy plastic bottles nor practical.

Great location where one can enjoy the sounds of the waves even from the bed. Very nice place if you look for silence and serenity. I enjoyed my stay very much.

The owner is very attentive and the place well maintained. Also has the most beautiful beach area around Tangalle in my opinion. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place, this is it!

this place is perfect if you are looking for a nice and quiet get away. the only sound you will hear are the waves coming in. the rooms come with some nice extras such as a broom to wipe of the sand from your feet after returning from the ocean and there are clotheslines outside to dry the swim wear. in the common area you can find a drinking water dispenser. a great plus so you don’t have to buy water bottles and can help saving the environment. rooms and common areas are kept tidy and are looked after. definitely try the Sri Lankan breakfast which is prepared by the host’s wife and is absolutely delicious. the area is great for discovering the lagoon by Kajak, go swimming or attending a yoga class or simply enjoy one of the surrounding restaurants. the best part, however, was Tharanga, the hospitable employee of the guest house who always gives you a friendly smiles, takes good care of you and helps you with any inquiry. If we come back to Sri Lanka this is for sure a place we will return.

Great location at the beach. Cute bungalows, cosy and beautiful. Excellent Sri Lankan breakfast. The staff is very friendly, we chatted many times and got answers to everything we wanted to know about Sri Lanka. The nice man hosting the bungalow organized a great field trip to us with TukTuk. The price för bungalow number 6 is a bit to high compering to the bungalow we had first (nr 2) But we had seaview in nr 6 so it was worth it. :)

The location is a 15 min walk from the restaurants. That was exactly what we wanted. So quiet and so nice. Just listening to the waves. Drinking a beer and relax. The staff (Taranga) is the best person we meet during our 19 days in Sri Lanka. We had fantasic breakfast

the rooms are almost directly at the beach. you can hear the waves in your room. the room was good, with good working AC and hot water; everything was available. the personal was super nice and very familiar. the owner packed us banana for the bus ride. the breakfast you can order at the accommodation was very tasty. wifi worked good .
