Serenity was our favorite accommodation in Sri Lanka. The couple who run the guesthouse are incredibly friendly and always made sure we were enjoying our stay. The room was spotless, very comfortable, and came with an excellent breakfast. The house is about a 10–15 minute walk from the main part of town, yet it feels wonderfully peaceful, surrounded by nature. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and tranquil stay in Ella. On top of that, the husband is a tuk-tuk driver and was always available whenever we needed a ride, which was especially convenient at night when we didn’t feel like walking back.

The room was clean snd comfortable with nice seating in front of the door with view to mountain. We very a bit surprise with the location, but you need to count with that it is in the mountain so you need to climb few hills to get there on foot. But we didn’t mind. Otherwise the owners offer you tuk tuk ride anytime they see you. We felt really good in their company they are very friendly people. The homestay offers washing laundry which we used and the washing was good, the price was reasonable. There is breakfast included, it is served on terrace and since we stayed two nights we experience same breakfast both days, which is ok because they were tasty.

The water pressure was weak, if woman needs to wash hair it may take longer time. Water wasn’t hot, more cold which was managable on warmer days.

The place is very clean and spacious. After several places this one comforted us. They have their own tuktuk and the owner was very helpful. We asked them if they could not make us any coconut for breakfast and they changed it without any problem and in fact gave us the choice.

Walking from the centre is an uphill and downhill ride.

We had a fantastic stay at this guest house! The location is incredibly peaceful, perfect for relaxing after a month of traveling around Sri Lanka. The breakfast was hands down the best we had during our entire trip. The owners are kind, honest, and truly make you feel at home. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a tranquil stay with exceptional food and warm hospitality!

It's a nice location off the beaten track, we walked a lot into town and back and spent some time on the veranda where you can watch the trains pass by and lots of colourful birds sing, inc. peacocks! The staff are friendly and try to accommodate to your needs. They are also very kid-friendly.

We had the two bed room and it's in desperate need of some redecorating and some deep cleaning. It would also have been nice to have more storage room and plugs to charge our phones.

We really enjoyed the view from the balcony, the owner of the place was very helpfull. The place is up a very steep hill, luckily the owner helped us by arranging a Tuktuk or by bringing us himself. The room was nice with a mosquito net, the breakfast was delicious. Can definitely recommend this place!

We had a fantastic stay at this accommodation! While the room was a bit dated and in need of a coat of paint, it was clean, comfortable, and an excellent value for the price. The real highlight of our stay was the incredible host family—they were so warm, kind, and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Every morning, they prepared a delicious breakfast that we looked forward to. Another great perk was the tuk-tuk service they provided, which was super convenient for getting around like a taxi or even for exploring on a tour. It made our trip so much easier and more enjoyable. Overall, this was a wonderful experience, and we highly recommend staying here for the hospitality and great value!

Comfortable beds, clean, hot water, delicious breakfast.

The view is of the inner mountain slope, not what we expected—no open space. There is a slight smell of moisture and stains on the ceiling above the bed. We stayed in the room on the left. Right outside the room, there is a narrow, steep street where tuk-tuks and other vehicles pass by. They run until about 10 PM, but after that, it's quiet.

Fantastic hosts, delicious breakfasts, relaxing terrase, peace and quiet. 15 min walk to the centre through a very nice route, full of greenery, monkeys, flowers. Hot water, very warm duvets, very comfy matresses. Peakocks on the field in front of the terrase.

Walls in the room need refreshment.

The property is located in a quiet area. The bed was big and comfortable.

The Wi-Fi barely worked, which was frustrating. Breakfast was quite basic and lacked variety. The staff was not very welcoming. When we arrived in the evening by train from Kandy, the person who opened the room seemed unhappy about our late arrival. Limited interaction with the hosts – it was difficult to ask for tips or recommendations.

Helpful and welcoming family. Located just out of Ella's main strip which added peace and stunning views. Lovely breakfast and value for money.

Only downside the toilet door in our room was kind of broken (stuck)

Friendly hosts, great food, nice terrace to sit and relax surrounded by nature

We had a really nice stay at serenity, the room and bathroom were clean and you can enjoy a nice little terrace. The shower gives good hot water. The breakfast was big and filling before our hike up Ella Rock and our hosts were very kind and helpful. We also had a dinner on the terrace which was a delicious and generous portion of rice&curry with chicken. Thank you very much!

The water from the shower comes out a bit weak but totally fine for a quick shower and good value for the price anyways.
