Reviews of Sakura Calm Rest

During my stay in Sri Lanka I found most of the time you couldn’t rely on the reviews. I can confirm the reviews for this place are 100% accurate. The place was absolutely spotless, the sheets were smelling so fresh, the AC was nice and cool, there were no bugs and there was a place for you to hang your clothes. The lady I dealt with was also so lovely and made sure I was always comfortable. There is a reason this place has to be booked in advance.

My only regret was I didn’t find this place sooner.

This place is really calm and peaceful. The room is very clean. It was my second time at that hotel and I'm going to come back again. 🤗

The hotel is really lovely and has a comfy bed and a hot shower with good pressure. It’s a short walk away from the beach and the nearby restaurants. I would happily stay here again! The owner is so kind and helpful! We had our laundry done at the hotel for a good price and it was returned to us the next day neatly folded and smelling lovely.

Very friendly and helpful owners - helped organize tours and scoorer hire. Were very attentive with all of our needs. Communication was great. We were upgraded with our room for free which was fantastic. The deluxe room was spacious, garden view from deck which we saw lots of monkeys. Mattress was firm but comfortable. Shower had good pressure and hot water. Great aircon. Quiet but central location.

Had to squeegee the floor after each shower due to not having a shower box. Finding this to be pretty common in Sri Lanka though.

Loved everything about Sakura Calm Rest. Breakfast was amazing- fresh fruit and juices followed by traditional Sri Lankan although westernised was available. Ishaka was the most friendly and helpful host ably assisted by Sureka- both always with a smile to greet you. Rooms were spacious and clean with a lovely little balcony where I would have a cup of tea and watch the monkeys in the morning. Perfect

Ended up at this place after an other place canceled my room last minute. The only downside was that I only got a room for one night. Great place, comfy bed and nice shower. One of the best places to be in Mirissa. Just a few minutes away from the b beach.

Everything!! It was the perfect accommodation, large room, lots of place to store and hang clothes, comfortable bed and pillows, amazing hosts (always smiling, offering guidance, very welcoming and nice), balcony (monkeys came a couple of times and visited :) ), common kitchen and fridge for guests, and super close (maybe 5 mins walk tops) to the main beach and main street of Mirissa yet very calm. Wifi worked pretty well. Great AC and even a fan. Honestly, I would say this was the best accommodation we had during our trip to Sri Lanka (we stayed in 5 other places throughout the island). We rented a scooter from them for a very decent price. We spent 6 nights there (they changed the towels for us and offered to clean the room halfway through our stay. For the great value you receive, I would even say that this is a very cheap accommodation. I highly recommend this place during your stay in Mirissa!

The hotel is run by a lovely young family who are very helpful - they organised a transfer to Ella at short notice, the breakfast was great, freshly prepared and we also tried the curry for dinner - so delicious. The location is perfect, close to the beach but very quiet, very clean. We would come back anytime and can highly recommend the hotel.

We had the double deluxe room, which was the most beautiful room during our whole trip. They have laundry service and organized a taxi transport for us. The host family is lovely and breakfast was amazing. The accommodation is close to the beach and restaurants.

A great location, close to the beach. Great hosts, were always in touch with us if we needed anything. All amenities in the room. Comfortable rooms, clean and spacious enough.

Fresh juice/coconut, fruits, hot dishes nicely cooked, youghurt, tea. ✔️ Location (close to everything) ✔️ Clean room, good working conditioner, bed with mosquitos net. I have other accomodations on Sri-Lanka to compare with and Ishaka family is doing their business great with client-oriented approach. Bravo, Ishaka! I wish you prosperity ❤️

View from the balcony was not great at all

Absolutely fantastic stay at Sakura Calm Rest. The location is perfect – close to the beach, the main road, the bus stop, ATM, basically anything you might need. The room was clean & comforable, and they had a common fridge for guests which was an added bonus. The staff/hosts were super kind and acommodating, would absolutely stay again.

The property was so lovely and clean and fresh smelling. It was bright and airy with great bathroom and bedrooms . The hosts were lovely and kept in touch .
