Need some sort of spot lighting for the stairs. It’s all black and one can easily get tripped off.

Thanks a lot to the hotel owner. He did everything to make our stay comfortable. He answered any questions. He is a very cheerful and pleasant person. The hotel itself is small, but this is its advantage. The rooms are clean, well maintained and designer. The cleaning was done every two days, and the breakfasts were delicious. There are always water bottles, a safe, and a refrigerator in the room.

A Secluded Jungle Retreat with Soul and Atmosphere I stayed at Saffron Robes Living in Hikkaduwa and was absolutely delighted. The hotel is located away from the main beach, surrounded by lush jungle, which creates a unique sense of seclusion and connection with nature. In the mornings and evenings, you hear birds and forest sounds — it truly feels like you’re in a tropical retreat. The hotel is small and intimate, with only four rooms, designed in a stylish loft aesthetic — concrete walls, wooden elements, and stone floors. My room was decorated in all white, overlooking the garden. The bathroom featured a tropical rain shower partially open to the outside — a beautiful experience! I especially enjoyed the lounge area on the ground floor with comfortable sofas and a fish pond, as well as the cozy meditation zone with floor cushions and a view of the jungle. There’s no TV in the room, which is actually a plus — it allows you to disconnect and enjoy being alone with your thoughts. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful — always available, but never intrusive. Breakfast was great, with a choice between Sri Lankan and European styles — I tried both and they were delicious. I would love to come back. This place is a true hidden gem. Although officially a 2-star hotel, it feels more like a 5-star retreat.

Can’t complain

Quirky concept hotel with only four rooms, located a stone throw from the busy part of Hikkaduwa without any of the noise. Lots of interesting art, and excellent breakfast (wildly good fish curry). Fairly priced.

It’s more a concept art project than a hotel. The room is nice and bright, but way too bright in the morning, since it’s impossible to block out sunlight. The bathroom is for all extents and purposes outdoors, which is fine, except that it takes forever for the door to close, which makes cooling the room more inefficient and the door itself cannot be locked. The carpet is also dangerous because it glides. Being basically a massive slab of concrete, WiFi is useless.

Very beautiful design, good breakfast, this hotel is an experience to live

It was really amazing stay. It looks like on pictures. I felt very well take care for. The hotel has just 4 rooms, gives you private vibes, very calm place, nice environment around (jungle vibes). Very close to the beach and "center" (5 mins), but thankfully outside of noisy busy life. Breakfast was good and everyday different (srilankan, but you can opt for classic english). Room was beautiful and spacious, all facilities worked well. Complimentary water after cleaning. Great matress and bedsheets, for me very suitable pillows. Special thanks to Theekshana for booking for me private yoga class and other things, as well as management of late check-out for me.

No mosquito nets and bathroom had gap in wall to outside. Having said that no mosquito bites when I was there!

Stylish and unique small hotel on a calm location near Hikkaduwa beach and services. The staff was super friendly and helpful! We arrived late at night, but the staff welcomed us warmly and offered us coconut water after a long journey. The room was clean, stylish and spacious. Definitely worth the price.

The best place to stay in Hikkaduwa! The most friendly stuff I’ve ever met. Breakfasts are amazing, design is wonderful. Perfect stay! I had my birthday during the stay and they arranged a birthday cake, it was really nice. The manager/owner of the hotel was of great help, helped us to book tuk tuk, taxi, travel tour, transfer to the airport. Also there’s a gallery Saffron Robes, where we bought a couple of paintings. Very worthy of visiting

It was very unique and artistic and at the same time functional. U live like on extended art gallery installation. The stuff is very helping too. Many eating options and the beach is near, 5min walk.

It was just an issue with extra 3% when paying by card that I was not aware of and there was no mention of it on booking and it has not been yet resolved.

We loved the staff, their kindness and approachability. We have had most wonderful time herę, breakfast was delicious and the location was great too! Highly recommending!

The minimalist decor was lovely and so comfortable, the breakfast each morning was delish and such good value for money for the price we paid. Very good location and easy to get to Galle for the night if you didn’t want to stay there. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There is also a Saffron Robes gallery close by where you also get discount for staying at the hotel!

No good however the beach is very near!

we liked everything

This was, without a doubt, our favorite place in all of Sri Lanka. Completely unique and exceptional, this spot stands out as a true artistic gem on the island. The interior is beautifully designed, with a creative and intriguing vibe that reflects a level of artistry rarely seen elsewhere. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, making it a place of inspiration. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a refreshing coconut – a small but meaningful touch that set the tone for our entire stay. The room was filled with a delightful fragrance, and the meditation cushions provided a perfect touch for relaxation. The artwork throughout the property was nothing short of spectacular, adding to the feeling that we were staying in a living art gallery. The atmosphere was tranquil, clean, and comfortable – everything had been perfected down to the smallest detail. The service was impeccable, truly a 10/10. The staff was friendly, attentive, and eager to help, making us feel incredibly welcome. We enjoyed the minibar, the lovely balcony, and the peaceful surroundings. Normally, I don't take photos of accommodation, but here I couldn’t resist – I must have taken a thousand pictures because this place is simply a work of art. The “wow” factor was real, and it was, by far, the biggest surprise of all our stays in Sri Lanka. If you're looking for a truly artistic, memorable, and tranquil experience, this is the place to be!

The hotel was a beautifully designed, serene retreat, perfect for a relaxing getaway. It offered a peaceful atmosphere, free from crowds, with exceptionally friendly and attentive staff. The room was spotless and well-equipped with all the essential amenities. A true haven for those who appreciate art, design, and aesthetics.

We did feel slightly uncomfortable with the bathroom’s open design facing the roadside. Adding a set of blinds or a similar option would enhance the experience and provide more comfort when using the space.
