We especially appreciated the friendly contact with the Family. The guesthouse Safes has two sons at the same âge of ours and they became friends: they played football, cricket and the Sri Lankan Karom in the evening. We also loved the delicious breakfast and Dinner prepared for us. And I did a cooking Class.

This was a fantastic find - the room was huge and clean - beautiful food, cooked and served by the whole family who allowed us into their everyday lives. Short walk to yoga upstairs

The only possible downside was the steps up to the property - however we had backpacks so this did not bother us. They are currently fixing this up so it will be more of a road.

AMAZING! Since I am a solo traveler, it is always good to find a place that feels like home. And this was definitely the case 🙏. I felt completely taken care of, every day I got a huge and delicious breakfast and one day even packed into a box, which was so nice! The road which leads to homestay wasn´t a problem for me. If you are in a good shape and do not have any mobility problems, you will be just fine 👌. I highly reccomend to choose this place for your stay 🙏.

The stairs to arrive there might be tricky for someone who is not fit.

Nice and spacious room, very clean. The host was very attentive and eager to help, sometimes a bit more than I expected. If you enjoy a very interactive stay, this will be perfect for you! Easy to reach from Ella town, but bring a light if you walk back there at night.

Ishanka and Ruwan were lovely, hospitable hosts. They helped with everything from planning our time there to booking a cab. The homestay is located walking distance from the main town and it was nice to be away from the bustle. The balcony outside the room offers a fantastic view and that's where an excellent breakfast is served. The room was clean and functional. Note that it's a small climb to get to the property, so it would be best if you had backpacks.

Nothing. People complain about climbing the steps, but what do you expect if you want to have a nice view in Ella.

There was construction going on by the owner. So you kinda walk between metal rods a bit. But that is surely to pass in a matter of weeks. The climb to the house was like 70 steps that were not proper steps. Loose stone here and there. We had suitcases with wheels and from the other review I thought we will still be able to pull them, but nope. :)

Host was super friendly. We could do laundry there. In high quality. The place was nicely to the side of the city. Good bed with good mosquito net, that was long enough and did not lay on you during the sleep. Superb breakfast

Our stay at Sadew’s Home Stay was amazing! We felt truly like at home, with beautiful view over the mountains. The breakfast was the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka! Definitely will come back, the hosts are amazing and loving family ❤️

There are some uneven stairs to get up to the property with no other option for access. This was fine for me and I enjoyed the climb, but it’s important to note for accessibility.

Lovely and kind owners who are happy to help with anything you ask. Tasty breakfasts every morning. The option to have a nice lunch/dinner as well. The room was nice, with a mosquito net that helped me feel comfortable (remember you are in an area with lots of bugs!). There was always hot water for a shower and the bathroom was well sized.

Only issue was walk of about 50 metres to the property up a steep path. Would be hard for someone with mobility issues.

Best Stay in Sri Lanka so far. The beds were extremely comfortable, beautiful view of the mountains and the breakfast was so delicious. Also the wifi was very fast. The owners are super friendly and it was a big bonus our son of 2 could play with there daughter of 3. Definitely would stay here again of given the chance!

- many steps to reach the apartment but for us wasn’t a problem because trust me the view is worth it

- exceptionally friendly staff and hospitality - breakfast was extremely delicious (everyday pancakes, fruit, tea, sandwiches/samosas) and the views were AMAZING - warm water and hair dryer - they organized tuktuk, laundry Mosquito net - great location (14min walking from center)

Sadew Homestay is really great!!! We selected it a bit by chance and we were not disappointed, quite the contrary. Our room was very comfortable, very clean, terrace to have a gargantuan breakfast. Dinner is just as much... Magnificent view of the mountains. A big thank you to the managers for their extreme kindness. A very good address.
