Great, slightly quirky location. A bit tricky to get to by road, but a short stroll along the railway tracks from town. Lovely views. Tasty breakfast. Comfy beds.

Nothing really. But the payment here is mainly cash, so be prepared with some cash. There is ATM/money changer in Ella town if needed!

This is one of my best stays in my trip. The venue is so interesting - it overlooks mountain and train tracks. There is a shortcut through the tracks to Ella town which is only a few minutes walk. The room is so clean, spacious, and I'd say this was one of the comfortable stays I've had. The owner was super lovely, he has his own tuktuk so if travellers want to prebook pick up / drop off plans, you can and pay him separately for that. The room came with authentic breakfast prepared by the owner and family - so much to eat and must try!

Loved everything about staying here, the hosts were so warm, friendly and welcoming and really looked after us, from picking us up at the station when we arrived, to driving our newly hired tuk tuk up the bank from the room when we left. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with the added view of the train track. The room was clean spacious and a very comfortable bed. No air con, only a fan, but it was enough to keep us cool during the night. There was a large balcony too, with great views for miles and of course, the added attraction of watching the trains pass. Getting into town was so easy, just a 5min walk up the train track and we were there. The torch on your phone will be enough to see when it’s dark. Can’t rate this please highly enough and would definitely recommend being there rather than in town. Thank you for a great stay gents.

Only negative was the drain smell in the bathroom and the smell from the rubbish centre down the road (but this can’t be helped)

Triple room had a beautiful view , lots of space and comfortable beds. Breakfast was delicious and you got loads of food. Staff were amazing; so friendly and helpful . Short walk down the tracks to the town

I would really recommend this place. The family are really friendly. Breakfast is great. The room was very clean and comfortable. The balcony was great to chill on and watch the trains go by. Sat there I saw a lot of wildlife like deer across the bank, mongoose, chip munks and lots of birds which was really nice. The place is so close to the station and the centre but quite peaceful nestled on a hill. There’s a shortcut you can take along the tracks to the centre which is only about 1 minute, so it’s so super convenient for everything in Ella. I am very glad I chose to stay here and would definitely come back again. I had a really nice stay there. I’d highly recommend it.

We found the location great, just enough outside of Ella for some peace and quiet but also a 5-10 min walk to the centre along the train tracks. Our balcony overlooked the train line and it was great to see the trains come past. The host was also amazing and so hospitable.

The room was very clean and comfortable with a nice view on Ella’s Rock. The location is good to start your hiking and it’s very close to Ella’s main street. The host and his family are very kind. The breakfast is generous and delicious. We highly recommend this place.

We loved this place, we had initially booked one night but wanted to stay longer, we were moved upstairs to a newly renovated room and it was amazing. The balcony and view were great, the rooms spacious and clean, the people very nice and welcoming. Would definitly recommend, our favourite place to stay in Sri Lanka. Also an easy walk into town!

We loved the front porch view over the railroad tracks with the mountains in the background - great place to hang out in the afternoons after a long hike. Staff were kind and accommodating - serving up a great breakfast every morning.

Ishare was very helpful and gentle. He organised our trips well. Breakfast was delicious. He has a tuktuk and helped in picking us up a couple of times. The place is beautiful overlooking the Ella rock and the railway track. 🌞✨️🫶

No complaints. It is a little hard to find the first time as Google etc don’t recommend the train line route!

This was my fave place so far in Sri Lanka. The view is amazing. The family is lovely. The room is as the photos show. It is an easy walk from town and the station. You can walk along the train track there but most easy using steps down a slightly longer route back into town.
