The owners were really kind, they helped us with organizing tuk tuk and other things. The views from the balcony were amazing!! The rooms were big and clean, the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend this place!

Lovely and attentive hosts that went above and beyond to look after us and cooked a delicious breakfast. Amazing view from the room and private deck. Included breakfast and everything was a short walk along train tracks to town.

The breakfast was delightful, and everything was clean, well-organized, and beautifully arranged. The location is stunning, with breathtaking scenery. Walking along the railway tracks to the city was a unique and enjoyable experience, especially at night. More than anything, I truly appreciated the kindness, warmth, and genuine hospitality of the wonderful elderly couple who hosted me. It made my stay even more special. Highly recommended!!

The location is a bit tricky to access—only by tuk-tuk or on foot, either via a challenging path from the main road or a 10-minute walk along the railway tracks (easier with a backpack). I missed a hairdryer and a bath mat, but these were minor things. The hosts' warmth and kindness made up for everything. Light sleepers should note that trains pass from around 5:30 AM, with occasional honking at night. Being in the heart of nature, these sounds are part of the experience. It didn’t bother me, but good to be aware of.

Such a lovely place to stay! The hosts were very friendly, and you are surrounded by nature. We really appreciated that it was in the shade, providing nice, refreshing air after a hot hike. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, and we even got a fresh coconut straight from the tree—amazing! They also took care of our laundry and returned it nicely folded, which was a wonderful touch.

A Magical Stay in Ella Our time in Ella felt like stepping into a dream. We stayed at a beautiful, mystical guesthouse nestled right by the railway tracks. Getting there was an adventure in itself—a short walk along the tracks led us straight to this hidden gem. The two hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the start. Everything about our stay was perfect, from the cozy atmosphere to the peaceful surroundings. Despite feeling wonderfully secluded, the guesthouse is only a 15-minute walk from the town center, and if needed, a tuk-tuk can drop you off almost at the doorstep. If you’re looking for a place in Ella that combines charm, warmth, and a touch of adventure, this is it! Thank you ♥️

Everything was nice …hospitality owners , cozy and clean room with view terrace, location is great , breakfast was delicious. It’s was very pleaser for us to get a pot of tea when we arrived. Thank you so much for making staying comfortable. Will recommend your place for sure

The owners were the kindest people we’ve met in Sri Lanka. They had a serenity to them that matched the area. We wish we had booked more nights at Rose Dale, as it was the highlight of our time in Sri Lanka. Don’t hesitate to book here!

We traveled as a group of five and were very impressed with the spacious rooms, charming terrace, and delicious breakfast. Our three-night stay was made even more enjoyable by the warm and welcoming service. The host also provided us with valuable travel tips for getting around Ella, which we found incredibly helpful. We will definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit to Ella.

The family who manages the homestay is very kind and sweet. Every morning, they serve you a delicious and generous breakfast (different each day) The location is a bit outside Ella, which makes it very quiet and relaxing. The room is spacious and fresh, with a nice hot shower.

Great welcome from our hosts, we immediately felt at home. Room was comfortable, water hot, breakfast excellent and served on our terrace. Easy to walk into town or to Ella rock.

Ella is full of tourists, and there are guesthouses everywhere with more being built which rather spoils the magic

Dreamy position in the valley across from Ella ( noisy) town centre, so placed in peaceful surroundings, occasionally heralded by the trains chugging round the rail line adjacent to the homestay which is set back 50 yds from the track. The owners are very helpful and gentle folk, totally focussed on your comfort but not ever present 😊 Breakfasts were tasty and plentiful and lots of Sri Lankan tea and tastes. Would happily return again!!

Lovely and very helpful family, good room size, great breakfast, fantastic view, very quiet

Room felt a little damp, neither towel in the bathroom nor my hand washed clothes (that I hung up in the bedroom) dried within reasonable time (family was very helpful, gave me a fresh towel and put my clothes in their washing machine). It is important to know that this accommodation is kinda remote, you need to walk along the train tracks to get into town and while a tuktuk can get you in the proximity, there is no direct road access to this property - you will have to walk a few meters and cross the train tracks.

We absolutelty loved our stay, it felt like home. What outstanding lovely hosts and wonderful view from the balcony. Communication was amazing, helped us out renting scooters, packed our breakfast when we left early, even gave us umbrellas when the weather was rainy. The whole family just made everything that we had a comfortable stay, thank you so much!

Just prepare yourself to walk next to the railway, it‘s the fastest way into the city, around 20 min with a beautiful view.

We loved everything. The room and view were perfect. It was very clean. The breakfast was very good and the people we're very helpful and friendly. The place is easily reached by tuk tuk, they have a parking. Nearby is a very good restaurant where we ate the best curry of Sri Lanka. They helped us get our tuk tuk out of the mud when we wanted to leave. The family made our stay on Ella unforgettable

A very comfortable stay with great views and very helpful hosts who went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and helped us with the logistics wherever needed. Food was great, wifi was high speed, recommended without reservations!
