Akki and his family are great hosts, friendly and super helpful. They provided us with information about everything and organized nice activities for us. The location is really good, the beach is a 2-minute walk. Restaurants and shops are also close by.

I had to find alternative accommodation for the first night because staff messed up my booking. A lack of organisation was noticeable.

A very calm and charming guest house. This is not here you will socialise for sure but a nice spot to stay 1,2 nights. Hakki’s mum is very kind, she offers tea in the morning. Was alone when I arrived but then 3 travelers joins and it was nice. It’s clean and comfy dorm. I didn’t do it but they can also arrange snorkel trip and other activities. In the end on average it was a nice stay and good value for the money. Free water is always pleasent. Cute garden area and 2 minutes walking from the beautiful beach !

The shower has very small power I recommend to use a bottle to fulfill it. Hot in the dorm but if you préfère they also have AC dorm

Akki and his mum are lovely - I felt so welcomed and loved waking up to a coffee every morning. Location is super close to the beach and walking distance from restaurants and scooter hire. Wake up for sunrise if you can!

Host family are very friendly. Value for money.

Lovely place in superb location. Bed was comfortable and i can easily imagine staying longer.

Great right at the beach front. You can get there by bus. Just ask at the bus stop and they’ll provide with information and will stop close by. Very chill place. Great spot to unwind and discover the east coast.

the girls room, its in the middle, between two other rooms. its extremely hot, i dont know if it absorbs the heat from the other walls, but very very hot.

The location was pretty good. Away from the crowd and right next to the beach.

I stayed there for 3 nights. The first 2 nights everything was alright, but the last night, the tenant went out of his mind, he was clearly drunk/on drugs, and he started fighting really bad with a girl staying at the hostel. He started shouting at her, insulting her, insulting all the "crazy European women". He was breaking everything around him, furniture and so on. Then, he locked the girl inside a room and went on shouting that he would kill her and kill us all (us = me and another German girl staying in the same dorm as mine). We got so afraid. We were terrified. Then at some point, someone called the police. The police came. He calmed down, but after a few hours, he started shouting and fighting again. As far as I heard in the morning, the police will now keep him in jail for 3 months... Nothing to add...

The best hostel I have stayed at in Sri Lanka. Beautiful, clean, comfortable and so cheap!!! The garden was like garden of Eden, the walls were full of colour and drawings. Akki is the best host and an amazing person to hang out with. Plus, the hostel is a two minute walk from Uppuveli beach. Absolutely loved it! 😍

I am so grateful for every person I have met here since I arrived last week. From the moment I arrived I felt at home with family. I keep extending my stay and I feel like I could stay here forever. Akki is the nicest person I’ve met in my whole trip. He is an amazing host but more than that an amazing friend. And Vesna is a sweetheart <3. The place in itself is great, you have everything you need and more. The rooms and bathrooms are cleaned every day, they have lockers with keys which is really good when you don’t have your own lock. The mom gives you coffee or tea in the morning, and you’re literally 30 meters from Uppuveli beach. They do family dinners ( best moments with the whole family and friends with great food and games ) and organize so many activities for you !!! I love you guys with all my heart, and I am gonna miss you so much .. see you as soon as possible 🤍

I think I don’t need a lot of words…I felt like home. From the first second I arrived I felt so welcomed. I am sad to leave this atmosphere and if I didn’t had a date to leave I would have stayed kind of forever. Thank you and hopefully no goodbye just a see you again!

Location excellent, price damn cheap. The staff was really helpful too.

The beds had bed bugs, the ventilation was very poor, making starting in the night impossibly uncomfortable. Only a small fan per room. So u Either have to sleep outside and brave the mosquitos or sleep in a room that was basically an oven. Also... I ended up full of bed bug bites by the end of 3 days

So close to the beach and with a great vibe. Akki is really just the best, a loving and caring young boy who will make you have a lot of fun and will bring people together!

I had a great stay at Akki's place! Akki is an excellent host, very welcoming and attentive. The shared room had everything I needed, just as described in the listing. The amenities were all in good condition, and the price was very reasonable for what was offered. Highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a comfortable and budget-friendly option!

Brilliant location, right by the beach and the place attracts really lovely people. Comfortable beds and plenty of room for four people in my group. Very arty and good seating areas as well. I would definitely recommend to friends next time but bring yourselves a mosquito net!

We unfortunately had no mosquito nets and considering the area, there were multiple bugs and even frogs which got themselves into our room.

The mattresses are old and there are not much possibilities for fresh air in the room. Thereby would be could if they could in any case to do something about the mosquitoes because we had a lot in the room!!
