The location is close to restaurants

There was no refrigerator in the room, which made things quite inconvenient given the hot climate. The shower was outside, placed right beside the toilet, with no roof overhead, so everything got wet while using it. On top of that, mosquitoes easily came in, meaning you really need insect repellent if you don’t want to spend the night being bitten. The rooms themselves are cramped, offering barely enough space for luggage, and with so little daylight coming in, the atmosphere feels more like a cave than a bedroom. Noise from the street is also a problem, particularly the crows at night, even though earplugs are provided.

Beautiful room close to the beach and many good restaurants and shops. There is a lot of attention to the details to the furniture and to the details compared to other places in Sri Lanka, and we really appreciated. The staff is incredible! We received a lot of help to organise our activities during our stay. Would recommend it!

The property was in a great location for food and beach access. The facilities were very clean and well kept. It was a beautiful space to spend a few nights in Trincomalee. The staff were amazingly helpful with recommendations on food/activities.

Fabulous location near to excellent food options. Little oasis close to the beach and very peaceful. Room is not huge but beautiful design and felt very relaxing.

The accommodation is well located, just a short walk from Uppuvelli beach. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet at night. We really appreciate having shampoo and body lotion! The hosts are super nice and helpful. We would come back here again

Loving the whole experience at Nongu Home, from the room deco to mini garden right in front of the room. The soap and body lotion also smells great!

The property was very clean, outside bathroom was great and refreshing. And everything was nicely designed. Sober but nice!

Given the heat, a mini fridge to keep water cool would’ve been nice, the mosquito net was only attached to one side so it laid on you while sleeping and lastly, the airconditioning in our room was very old (stuck together with ducktape). It did the trick of cooling the room, however it made a lot of noise so that was less nice to sleep.

The accommodation is located within walking distance to Uppuveli beach, having plenty of restaurants and bars close by. The hosts were extremely welcoming and friendly. We booked a tour to Pigeon island through them and everything worked perfectly. The room itself was amazing and had a great design and everything you need.

This was our favourite place we stayed on our trip. Whilst it might look basic in the photos it is simple elegance! It is incredibly tasteful and understated in its decor. Attention to detail and little touches made this place so special. The gentleman who looks after Nongu Home was friendly, funny and helpful. He was the perfect balance of present but not fussy or overbearing. The garden is a real pleasure to be in. We loved it he handwash in the bathrooms and they were kind enough to give us a bottle to take home with us.

Relaxing atmosphere, fantastic host, and tropical vibe!

Unlike a lot of Sri Lanka accom, the host has put some effort into the design of the rooms and surrounding. Very helpful hosts who went above and beyond.

Easy walk to the beach, lots of restaurant options. Comfortable mattress. Nice linen sheets. Good communication from the owner.

The property is 3 double rooms side by side and it really lacks any privacy from other guests. You can hear through the walls and have to have the curtain closed when you are in the room with no other natural light. Small outdoor sitting area also with no privacy and lots of mosquitoes. Very basic amenities. Would have been great to have a fridge to keep some water cool in the hot weather. This location was rated very highly so I had high expectations but was disappointed to feel so cooped up for our stay here. I would’ve paid more to go somewhere else with a view or some privacy.

Very tidy and clean place. It had a beachy vibe, the open air bathroom is quite special and makes the place unique. Host is very kind too!

Nongu House is a lovely contemporary rustic guest house. Everything has been well thought out even down to a quirky outdoor shower room. Attention to detail in the property was excellent.

Very pretty and clean room (was even cleaned again mid of our stay). The outdoor bath is cool and the A/C is powerful. Lovely and helpful staff. The location is perfect with just a few min walk to the beach.

Great place to stay and very close to lots of restaurants around Uppaveli beach. The location is perfect. Loved the decor and each room has a small seating area outside. The air conditioning was amazing and much needed when we visited Trinco. Great communication with the owner who recommended some trips/places to visit. Would definitely stay again!

Great location within short walk to the beach and very comfortable bed. Rezvi and his team were so helpful and always friendly/ on hand to help; including coming by later in the evening to help me get rid of an insect!

The bathroom area is outdoors and whilst this is aesthetically lovely, there are insects to encounter. Do bear this in mind if you do not like insects! There was no bottled water with the room which would’ve been good

Everything was great

The House is very stylish and cozy. Even though the room is not big, but it is completely enough for a couple and it is very comfortable. Beautiful small yard! The owner was extremely helpful and on a request organized flowers and cake for my husband’s birthday❤️we stayed for four nights and even wanted to stay longer. Beach is nearby and close to home there are a lot of restaurants.
