The only downside, which is not a big issue, is the lack of water pressure in the shower. Taking a shower was a bit difficult, especially with long hair, because the water flow was very weak. We even ended up washing our hair in the sink, as the water came out stronger there. Other than that, everything was excellent. For the price, it is definitely worth it — the value for money is really great.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is close to the city center, the room was spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. The air conditioning worked perfectly and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The owners are extremely kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better.

The room is very dirty, the dog barked during the night and the owner let the duck walk in front of the room at 1:00 am. This is definitely the worst accommodation we have had. This accommodation is not for people coming from Europe, we are not used to these conditions. Also, the location on the map is not correctly displayed on the booking and we barely found the accommodation after half an hour of wandering and trying to communicate with our owner.

Walking distance of the house is not far away from the center.

No sign outside, but did get greeted with a friendly smile from owner who spotted us looking confused. Stairs to property was most worrying, exposed concrete with no railings at the top! Not great if with small children. No pressure on shower, but normal for Sri Lanka.

Location was perfect!! People were very friendly and kept place clean. Train passing by was a stone throw away. Walk out of property and few steps down onto the railway tracks. Walk left for main town taking a right off tracks before train bridge that goes over traffic. Or for 9 Arch bridge, simply carry on walking along tracks! Worth knowing the train between Ella and Kandy doesn’t cross the 9 arch bridge, need to go one more station.

The shower was only hand held and had minimal water pressure, the staircase into the room was dubious but the balcony had no railing so safety was an issue when entering the room. But it was well enough lit at night to see in.

The service, size of the room, comfort of bed, proximity to the main strip. The staff that served us was genuinely kind.
