The unique place to stay and have breakfast (from the menu) was already a success for us. On top of that, the staff was extremely friendly and attentive – we were even dropped off back in Ella free of charge by tuk-tuk. The room and bathroom were very clean, the shower had warm water, and the terrace was lovely!

This apartment is all about the amazing view – it’s truly breathtaking! The room standard was exactly as described – cabin-style, cozy and functional. I highly recommend staying here for the view alone – it’s totally worth it!

This is not a dislike but just a note. The property is close to the bridge so the road is only accessible by tuk tuk or scooter. The hotel will send a tuk tuk for you when you arrive. It is a steep, narrow road and at the end it does involve a short steep walk and some large concrete steps. Wear comfortable walking shoes!

The location was amazing. We had a great view of the nine arches bridge from our balcony & took many pics of the bridge & trains going over it. The staff were super helpful and breakfast was so delicious. They made a great espresso coffee which we found hard to find in Sri Lanka.

Cute cabin with an amazing view of the Nine Arch Bridge!! I don’t think you can ask for a better view, it’s also a 5-min walk from the bridge, so a perfect distance if you want to reach it in the early morning to beat the crowds. Nuwan was very welcoming, breakfast was great, and he kept our bags safe while we went on a hike. We only stayed one night but we highly recommend!

The only thing we didn’t like about the property was the gaps in the doors which let the mosquitos in. Definitely wear a lot of mosquito repellent if you are prone to getting bitten!

The property was amazing and had the best views over 9 arch bridge. Not only that, the restaurant below had everything you could want so that you didn’t need to travel far! 10/10! Nuwan was also so kind and helpful and gave us a free tuk tuk ride into town when we wanted to go for dinner and drinks.

We absolutely loved our stay! I would say our room had the most stunning view of the Nine Arch Bridge – simply breathtaking. The terrace was huge, the room was clean and cozy, and the breakfast was delicious with a great variety to choose from. Special thanks to the staff – they were incredibly attentive, friendly, and always ready to help with anything we needed. It only took a few minutes to walk to the bridge, and they also offers a free tuk-tuk ride down to the town. The way back is not included, and it costs around 1000 rupees, although some drivers may try to charge 2000, so be aware of that. The hotel café offers a wide selection of tasty food and drinks at great prices. The room rate was also very reasonable – honestly, for the quality and the amazing view, we think it could cost even more. Don’t hesitate to book this room and hotel – it’s definitely worth it!

Nothing, perfect stay

The host! We only had 18 hours in Ella and he made the trip incredibly memorable. We had a tuktuk which I was worried about parking, he came to pick us up and dropped us off after check-out. He drove us to Little Adam’s Peak and gave us advice on when to see the trains over the bridge, and also gave us the most incredible breakfast before leaving. The location in Ella doesn’t get better than this - if you are inside and hear the train horn you can run outside and catch a video in time. Definitely recommend!

Hotel New Cabin is a fantastic place with a beautiful view of the Nine Arch Bridge. From the balcony you have a beautiful view! The staff is very helpful and friendly. Nuwan even dropped us off in the city a few times with the Tuktuk. Completely free of charge. From the main road it is a 10 minute walk to the hotel. The breakfast was delicious. We could order what we wanted from the menu in the restaurant under the hotel. The coffee and smoothies were particularly good!

The location is perfect to access the nine arch bridge! The access to the property itself is very hard and we had our own Tuktuk so needed assistance to park and leave the premises, the boys were so helpful with this driving it out. It was pouring with rain but they also helped with bags! They went above and beyond and always with a smile!! Such a great team.

Our stay at the cabin was fantastic, the room was spacious and clean, and the view over the 9 arch bridge was amazing. Nuwan is a really a really friendly and helpful guy, and was there to give us lifts down to the town anytime we wanted, We would highly recommend The Cabin if you want the true Sri Lankan experience, we unmatched views.

They are currently renovating the home stay so the wooden balcony (as seen on the photos) was exchanged for a larger terrace. So not 100% like the pictures, but the views are still very nice and the kindness of the host family more than makes up for it. The road to accommodation is a bit steep and narrow, only accessible by tuktuk (no cars) and you have to walk the last 50 meters on the hill (hosts can help with baggage). It was a good adventure for us backpackers, but it could be harder for people traveling with a car/big luggage/mobility issues.

Best view of the nine arch bridge from the room. Great homestay, one of the most attentive families on our trip. They also own the best local restaurant in the area, you can watch the trains from the terrace and they serve a huge breakfast. They always offer a free tuktuk ride to Ella town, but you have to pay for the one getting back from town. We would totally recommend the accommodation, area gets really quiet in the evening and early morning when the tourists leave.

The views from the cabin are incredible - an uninterrupted view of the viaduct and surrounding scenery. The staff did everything they could to make our stay comfortable, and were super lovely. The choice for breakfast was huge and really generous portions.

The room had an unpleasant smell coming from the restroom. Address It was hard to find. The place is still under construction and there were noises of work in progress during the early morning.

If you struggle with walking/steps it maybe a little challenging to get to however there was building work going on during our stay so I believe they are working towards making it a little more accessible.

Location was brilliant. A little challenging to get to but it is outweighed by the view. Breakfast was lovely, so much to choose from. Nuwan (apologies if spelt wrong) would drop us into Ella anytime we needed, you just had to pay for the Tuk Tuk back (around 800-1000 rupees). They couldn’t have been more accommodating, even giving us drinks for our onward journey. Would definitely recommend!
