Reviews of Neela's Beach Inn

The rooms were lovely. We had a sea view and balcony. Beautiful hearing the ocean at night. Staff were lovely. Appreciated the large bottles of water in the room.

We went during off season, so the restaurant was closed. Hard to comment on anything being bad.

Very comfortable room and clean and close to everything needed in town. Very nice host and personell I came with car and left at 4am for the airport, Neela woke up for me and said goodbye ! Such a nice gesture which I did not expect.

The hotel's location was excellent, as you went through it to get to the beach. I booked a basic room with AC with basic comforts compared to the European standards but it was exactly what I needed to relax. The hotel also has a small coffee/restaurant, beachfront. It was a value for money room.

The AC rooms are being charged extra

Property is beautiful but the host has a golden heart. Very friendly! 🫶🏻

Amazing location: Fabulous sea view. Room lovely and clean. Staff friendly. Pillows, sheets and towels all need to be replaced.

I had the upper seaview room which was lively and breezy. Staff seemed nice and room was clean and bright w high ceilings

One night a terrible singer ( i think from someplace next door ?) droned on singing cheesy covers into the night, which was too bad cos i had booked Neelas thinking it might be at quieter end of beach

Amazing location, Bright rooms

Looked like photos, all the staff were super friendly. I got a free upgrade so the room was spacious no complaints would definitely stay here again. Free beach bed on the beach & beach towels. Great location and the room was Clean and nice refreshing welcome drink on arrival too

Nothing I can think of

Very clean and spacious. Location spot on. Beach is their back garden. Close to the train station and bus stops. Staff very welcoming and always great to be greeted with a happy face. So pleased it was a AC room as it was hot. We were able to see new hatchings released into the sea on our 1st night at the accommodation. Other beaches can be reached by travelling on local buses, a must experience!

Based on previous comments, we booked the large room at the top of the hotel. This was lovely, with a large balcony and sea view. The aircon in the room was excellent and very quiet, but I did have a slight issue in that the bed just had a sheet, and with any aircon on I was too cold in bed - or without it on, I was too warm. I ended up sleeping under a towel a couple of nights, but was given a blanket when I remembered to ask for one. The breakfasts were lovely, other meals really nice and well priced.

Having given our card details on booking, we were shocked to find that they only took cash payments when we came to check out. As we were about to leave Sri Lanka, we didn't have cash and had to go to a service till to get it. I would definitely recommend that people confirm what payment method they will be taking when they check in here.

The hotel has a very good location. There are many great restaurants right next to it. The center of Hikkaduwa is not as nice as the area where this hotel is located. It is right on the beach, and sun loungers are available and free to use.

The only small downside is that if there had been a small pool, everything would have been absolutely perfect.

Everyone was very friendly, the rooms were bright, clean and spacious. The hotel is right on the beach and they have their own sun beds for guests which was nice.

The staff welcomed me with a welcome drink. The room was clean and fragrant. The staff was very helpful and caring. The location is excellent. I did 1,000 km on a motorbike in Sri Lanka and this place was perfect for relaxation and chill. Sun loungers on the beach are available at no extra charge.

The location was very convenient and the place exceeded expectations. It is right Infront of the beach.The staff was absolutely wonderful and kind and was helpful with all of our requests. Would definitely go there again.

Was a bit disappointed with the kottu I ordered. I agree that the majority of the guests are of western origins and the food has to be made to meet their taste. But the kottu was absolutely sweet I was quite taken back by it. I would've requested it to spicy if I had known about the lack of spices. Overall the food and the cocktails were good.

Bright, light, cheerful place right on the beach with really good food. Great location just as the beach gets wider.
