Takes some effort to get there, but worthwhile

The location was a bit from the main road. If you are coming by tuk tuk,there is no problem-he will take you almost to the accomodation. But if youbare traveling by car I would advise you not to go there by car and also be aware, the GPS doesn't take you to the right place. I would reccomend that you leave the car by the main road and walk up (the first day we rented a tuk tuk because of our luggage). We used to park by the main road near Glorious nature inn (GPS finds it easily). There is a rather big paved part near the road where there was always rook to park. From there locate the stairs on the opposite site of the road leading up. They are a bit steap,but you can see monkeys climbing on trees right next to it. When you reach the top of the stairs turn right and walk on, then turn left at Golden view guest Ella (on your right) and keep walking for a bit. The final part is on a paved road. The whole walk takes about 10minites and it is DEFINATELY WORTH IT. Plus it is not hard- we were traveling with our 5year ols girls and they never complained- they were too excited about the nature and monkeys🙂. So if you want a nice view, a great owner and an amazing breakfast that will keep you full most of the day,then choose Mountain peak Ella🙂

The owner is AMAZING🙂He is extremely friendly, makes an amazing breakkfast every morning and generaly helps every chance he gets. The rooms are spatious and comfortable and the terrace offers very nice views. You are away from city rumble and feel like you are in the middle of nature. The shower has hot water (just wait a bit,it will come)🙂

We had a great time – the host was very helpful and made us feel right at home. He served tasty dinners and beers on our terrace in the evenings. The place is a bit remote, but he arranged tuk-tuks for us, and the peaceful surroundings made it totally worth it.

Nice guy who helped us rent a bike and met us at the location. Right at the top of Ella so you can see for miles, be careful getting up to the top, bit of a bumpy road

The access road is a little bumpy and steep with backpacks, however a tuktuk can get you up until the ella red rock accommodation and it is just a 5 minute walk to the accommodation.

Kind owner, good views and clean facilities. Breakfast was also very good.

Unfortunately being at the top of the mountain peak it was difficult to get to, as cars cannot make it up the steep winding road. Lasantha organized 2 tuk tuks upon arrival to get us to the accom from the road, but there was still a little uphill walk involved at the end. After a day out we were unable to get a tuk tuk willing to take us up the hill and had to walk. The walk is not for the unfit or faint hearted but the views and peace are worth it.

Lasantha our host was very welcoming and his breakfasts and dinners were delicious. The room was spotless and the bathroom was the best on our Sri Lankan trip so far. The view was spectacular and it was nice to be away from the busy town of Ella.

The walk was great in the sunshine but quite a trek in the rain , tuk tuk didn't like driving to the peak so a small walk to home stay .

The view was fabulous of Ella and surrounds , the room was clean and comfy, the host was fabulous, he went above and beyond to make us feel at home and made a delicious breaky and dinner .

I had a brilliant stay here. The room is big, clean, comfortable and very good value. Hot shower, clean sheets, towels and a fan- and really quiet away from city noise. Lasantha is a brilliant host. He served breakfast on the terrace and helped me with laundry, and made me lunch one day. He brought me a kettle so I could make tea. It is right at the top of the maintain with amazing views. I’d recommend getting a scooter to get to and from it and see the best of Ella in the day time… otherwise could be reached by tuk tuk or keen climbers.

To reach to the room is some difficult and because of it, we missed the vibrant night life of Ella main city center..

The breakfast was good and the view of Ella from the mountain was too beautiful..

Mind you it's is on a very high mountain, this gives nice views but you will need to take a tuk tuk from Ella town 15minutes for around 4USD one way or walk maybe 30minutes minimum! We always took tuk tuk. Rooms are a bit humid so I had to sleep with open windows. Also expect some insects such as ants, or moths - thankfully no mosquitoes at all when we were there !!! As said above for this price its a good deal but don't expect western standard. Overall it was good stay for 3 nights. We enjoyed it.

For this price point it is an excellent place, the host is very kind and prepared delicious breakfasts for us and we even had 1 dinner there! The tea they serve was just delicious! We couldn't find better around SL, it is the way they make it...properly prepared.
