We had a lovely stay here with our family. The view of the lake is fantastic. The breakfast was very tasty. The owners are very friendly. They kindly allowed us to switch our room selection to rooms which suited us better.

No cons for us at all - excellent stay.

We had three rooms rather than the two we booked in order to keep our family close to each other - very kind, thank you. The lake view room is especially worth booking- what a way to wake up! Everything was spotless, breakfast was fresh and filling, the view from the communal balcony and the dining room was great, and the furnishings were all in excellent condition. We were impressed by everything. The guesthouse recommended a driver - Sagara - to us who took us all over Sri Lanka and was a brilliant guide.

Nothing really, be sure to keep the balcony sliding glass door closed.. sometimes small monkeys hop in from around and they enter inside if the door is kept open.

I had stayed with my wife and our 5 year old son and our stay there was really pleasant, the host was super halpful and smiling, location was great- easy access to everywhere we wanted to. breakfast was just nice. Really value for money and I would surely recommend to fellow travelers and ones with kids.

We only stayed in Kandy for one night before heading to Ella the next morning by train. But our stay at Mc-Leod Inn was truly memorable! It’s tucked away in a peaceful area with serene views overlooking Kandy Lake and the mountains as the backdrop — so calming. The weather was pleasantly cool, which made the whole experience feel even more relaxing. The hosts, a lovely Sri Lankan couple, were very warm, friendly, and accommodating. Wish we had more time to enjoy this peaceful little hideaway in Kandy. Definitely recommended if you’re looking for a calm, scenic stay!

The view from the balcony of the communal eating space are amazing. The owners and staff were really friendly offering good tips on sights to see and helped book Tuk Tuks for us.

Nothing - we loved our stay

Excellent value for money. Hosts were incredibly warm and helpful getting a tour organised in the Knuckles for us. Stunning views over the lake and Kandy city centre but easy to get into town and a couple of good dinner options still within walking distance. Hot water was great as well.

The bathroom is small and there is no place to pack our things

The view from the terrace was really nice, the AC worked very well, the host was kind, the breakfast was good, the room was okay. All in all, everything was fine.

The view was spectacular and it was an easy stroll back down to the city. The hosts were wonderful and helpful. The local food was sensational.

The mattress was a little too soft for me but it doesn't make it any less of a wonderful stay.

The accommodation was really clean, spacious and the cable tv was a plus. Friendly and helpful hosts. Close to the centre and the quietness of the surrounding is great. Comfortable pillows. Hot water for shower with good water pressure. Amazing view.

The view from the main area’s balcony is beautiful. The food was fantastic, definitely ask to have dinner here, the spread was amazing. Breakfast was plentiful too. Room was just what we needed and felt clean. Short walk to Kandy town too. The owners were lovely offered us a free beer whilst we were chilling on the balcony on our first night & a free Tuktuk to the station. This was lovely stay 10/10 ❤️

I had a lovely stay at McLeod Inn. The views were absolutely stunning, especially at sunrise. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and incredibly helpful throughout my stay. Getting to the city centre was quick and easy, which made exploring Kandy hassle-free. And as a cat lover, I was delighted to find they had a resident cat, definitely a bonus!

Fantastic location up on a hill with great views of Kandy Lake. It was good to escape the Kandy traffic and the views from the room and terrace were fabulous. There is an easy path down to the lake and it’s not too steep to walk back up. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful and the owners were helpful and kind. Definitely recommend.

Nothing particularly except a nearby karaoke restaurant blasting our loud music the first night that dominated the whole area. Not the fault of the Mcleod-Inn!!! Thankfully it stopped before we slept and didn't happen again

I travelled with my young adult son and daughter, we had two Lake view rooms and one without a view. The lake view rooms were especially nice but the 3rd was totally fine. I particularly liked the attentiveness of the owner: - bringing me a pot of tea when I sat on the balcony early each morning, without even prompting, - waiting by the door on our first night to direct us down the steps to the Lake, advising on a restaurant - turning around overnight a pile of wet, muddy and dettol sprayed clothes and shoes following a wet and leech ridden Knuckles Summit hike. This was most appreciated. - cooking a delicious curry and rice meal for the 3 of us - it's a must to experience, one of the best we had during our travels with a large variety of vegetable curries - how peaceful the homestay is, it has a calm atmosphere

Nothing not to like 😁

What a fabulous stay we had at McLeod-Inn. Room was super clean with a fabulous shower. The view was so beautiful,we sat and admired it for quite some time whilst planning our onward journey around Sri Lanka. The breakfast was amazing and there was plentiful. Fresh fruit , yoghurt, scrambled eggs. Toast and jam. Filled me up until dinner time. The hosts were so warm,friendly and attentive. He did send me a message to say he had organised a tuk tuk for us to pick us up but I didn't read the email in time. However they paid the tuk tuk to get us to the station. How super kind is that. They go out of their way to make you feel so welcome. Would stay again for sure. I could look at that view over Kandy lake ,big stupa and of course The Temple of the tooth relic

The linen is a bit dated

Super friendly hosts and great location. They kept our bags when we went for a hike and arranged a tuk tuk to the station in the morning for us. Delicious breakfast, also starting earlier for us since we wanted to head out early. Would recommend.
