Power went off to air conditioning for a few hours, and it would have been nice to have water/fruit juice at breakfast.

Location and view were amazing. Owners are very kind and made us feel very welcome, they even made us a packed lunch for our departure.

Leaving .....

Fabulous views from this location .including sitings of the train passing by regularly! The rooms were spacious and the beds large and extremely comfortable ( mosquito nets were a bonus) The owners were warm and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us to ensure a comfortable stay.. The lane to it is a bit bumpy - but well worth the ride.

Minor Issues (but nothing deal-breaking): • A bit tricky to access due to Ella’s one-way road system – not the hotel’s fault, but worth noting for first-timers. • A few cockroaches in the bathroom – nothing major, but could be improved with more regular pest control. • Hot water wasn’t consistent, and Wi-Fi reception in the room was weak.

The Marvelous Inn, Ella – Incredible Value and Highly Recommended Our stay at The Marvelous Inn in Ella was fantastic. The room was exceptionally clean, the service was warm, and the breakfast was amazing – far better than expected for the price. At just $30–$35 USD per night (off-season), it’s an absolute bargain and easily one of the best-value stays we had in Sri Lanka. Highlights: • Immaculately clean rooms • Delicious and generous breakfast • Outstanding value for money Despite these small issues, I would still give it 11 out of 10 if I could. For the price, comfort, and location, it’s hard to beat. I highly recommend The Marvelous Inn and would definitely stay there again.

Minor problems with the internet which the staff helped fix. Less of a problem than most of our stays in Sri Lanka. It's a good walk from the main street.

Nothing, everything was great 😃👍

Everything was perfect : the location was a bit out of the center town, but not too far, which was great because it was calm with a beautiful 😍 The family was very welcoming, thoughtful and kind ! The room was very nice and very clean with a balcony with a view on the mountains and the waterfall. Very good breakfast directly brought to your balcony. We could rent the motorbike directly to the family which was very convenient and cheaper than in town. You can't go wrong by choosing this place !

Owners are really nice and friendly! We had delicious breakfast on pur balcony with the beautiful view on little Rawana waterfalls.. Everything was really nice and we enjoyed 2 nights at Ella :) Since I didnt feel good previous days, they prepared for me toast and butter just to eat something to feel good. :) Strongly recommend this place.

If you have an older car like we had i recommend to park somewhere on the main road and take tuk to the accomodation. The little road to the accomodation is about 8mins drive from the main road and it’s really steep in parts, we barely made it there and back.

Our stay in Marvellous Inn was everything what we needed. Beautiful spot, comfortable bed, hot water, good breakfast and amazing view. Stayed both in the triple room and double room, prefer the double room as it has nicer view and better balcony. Owners are super nice.

The problem is the location little far from the city center, because its on mountain it’s hard to walk so the tuk tuk will be your friend.

As the name suggests it was Marvellous. The pictures put in the posting does not justify the beautiful view that you get from the balcony. The waterfall view surrounded by lush greenery is out of this world. The only challenge is the approach road to the location. Very steep at places and narrow. However our 8 seater Toyota van made it to and fro from the main road though with a little difficulty. The hosts and extremely friendly and take care of every need. They have a tuk tuk and he took us to the market and back also waited more than 30 mins for us to buy things. He did not charge anything for that. Overall it is highly recommend if you are looking for some adventure.

The owner of the house is very kind and solution-oriented. Since the accommodation is a bit outside of Ella, an external vehicle is needed. The owner of the business will help you with this. You have a pleasant waterfall view from the balcony side and if you wish, you also have the option of a fun trekking towards the waterfall. It has a sufficient breakfast. It was a very nice option for the Ella leg of our trip, where we usually look for peaceful locations. I wish we could have spent more time here.

This stay was good value for the money. The host was very nice and attentive. The room was okay, view from the balcony was amazing. Good breakfast. Walking distance to town for shopping/eating.

Well situated with a lovely view of the waterfall, very nice and responsive hosts, good laundry service, excellent meals. They also organised a private taxi with Ishan as a driver, who helped me very patiently to find a new accommodation in Udawalawa when my initial booking had crashed somehow.

Probably one of the cleanest rooms we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka. Hosts are so nice and helpful. Homestay is located very nice and picturesque. Also recommended for families. From Ella city it’s a bit of a hike but worth it! Breakfast is very delicious. Last but not least the beds are super comfy.

Beautiful location, magical sounds and stunning view of the surrounding countryside. Breakfast on the balcony taking it all in. All complimented by the hosts. A great base for hiking, wildlife and all within a 15 min walk into the travellers vibe of the main town.
