Clearer directions to local sights would have been extremely useful and would have avoided us getting lost while out in the heat. Room was advertised with a fridge which was not the case.

The property was a lovely location, only a short walk into town. With a lovely view of Ella Rock.

Road to the property passes by a waste processing station. Hence, the ride to the home stay can be malodorous, at times. Rather pricey in comparison to other places.

Excellent location- easy to get to yet far enough from the bustle of the town. Amazing views of mountains, Ella Rock, trains & the valley. Superb breakfast. Thushara is a gentle & kind host.

There's nothing I didn't like, but I could suggest a couple of improvements. Perhaps provide mosquito nets and insect repellent spray, as there were mosquitos about. Since payment has to be made in cash in Sri Lankan Rupees, it would have been helpful to know the EXACT AMOUNT payable in advance for budgeting and logistical reasons. And then I could have withdrawn the money needed in advance and paid it on arrival, without having to worry about not knowing how much I needed and finding my way to an ATM to withdraw more money in case I had run out of cash by the end of my stay.

The Sri Lankan breakfast on offer was exceptional. Generous portions and very tasty. The hostess was very kind and friendly. Made us a lovely pot of tea to welcome us on arrival.

The view from the balcony was breathtaking. Unfortunately we had a lot of fog and rain so we couldn’t enjoy the view to the fullest. The room was big enough and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good. A big plus was the laundry service right next to the home stay.

We had a fantastic stay! The room was spacious, very clean, and had an amazing view where we could watch the sunrise. The mini fridge was a great bonus. Located a little outside the busy main street, it was peaceful yet just a 10-minute walk to the center. The host was incredibly kind, welcoming us with water upon arrival and serving a delicious breakfast each morning. The hospitality made our stay even better. If you’re looking for a quiet yet convenient place with great amenities and a stunning view, this is the perfect spot. Highly recommended!

Beautiful room with exceptional views from the balcony. Breakfast was great and hosts very helpful. Short walk down to the bustling centre with restaurants and bars. Tuck tuck back. People very friendly. Close to train station. Recommend walking littles Adams peek.

Before I talk about the guesthouse itself: I personally didn't like Ella that much. We came for 3 nights in early January, which of course was high season and we knew, but I didn't expect Ella to be that full with people. It was the most touristic place we went and for me it was too busy, commercial etc. It felt like a once nice and scenic place expoloded very fast and almost everything is there for only the tourists. I still enjoyed our time though because we stayed at Maple! It's not a fancy place, but it had everything we needed. And the view was absolutely stunning and I was happy to be a bit outside of actual Ella. The owner was very friendly, all three mornings we had a great breakfast with different components and he even made us an earlier breakfast when we had to take the train in the morning when we left. We were traveling with our 3 year old daughter, she also got an extra breakfast every morning.

Excellent homestay in Ella with a great view! The room was super clean and very spacious, the shower pressure was great and always had hot water. The host Thushara and his wife are so nice too! I really appreciate that they respect the privacy of their guests and aren’t intrusive at all, which sometimes happens at other homestays. If you need anything, just ask and they are happy to help. The breakfast every morning was a delicious mixture of local Sri Lankan food and was different each day. The location is about a 15 min walk down the hill into town, or just a 5 minute scooter ride. Thushara, thanks for everything and we’ll definitely be staying with you again next time we’re in Ella!

Nothing, everything was great.

Very clean room, simple but it had everything we needed. Comfy bed with mosquito net if necessary. The electric fan was more than enough to keep the room cool, we didn't even have it on overnight. Hot shower and clean bathroom. Stunning views from the balcony, even when it rained it was lovely to sit outside and watch the scenery changing as the clouds moved across the hills. The location is perfect for anyone who wants to appreciate the views and have peace and quiet, but still be close to Ella for restaurants, shops, transport etc. It's an easy 5-10 minute walk downhill (mainly steps) to the town centre, and you could walk back up but it's only 400-500lkr for a short tuktuk up the very steep hill. Our hosts were really friendly and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. Excellent value for money and I'd highly recommend it. Everything is as it looks in the pictures, so you can be confident you'll get what you expected.

The room could of had a place to hang a jacket or two and luggage placement. Access to drinking water would be nice. They had a few broken windows in the room that could have been fixed.

Location and view were amazing. Right near Little Adams Peak and City Centre. The staff prepared a delicious breakfast!

Dirty and not cleaned before apartment with a lot of insects. The house and the surrounding were messy, not well organized. Compared to other owners, they didn’t pay so much attention to the guests.

Location was very good as to the city it took around 10 min. Good basic breakfast and a nice gesture of welcome cup of tea ☺️
