Such an amazingly comfortable place to stay steps from the beach but near to the action. The air con was quiet and worked brilliantly, the bed was big and comfortable and the bathroom very clean. The rooms are in a garden with makes you feel like you are in a resort. Mohamed is always there to help and nothing is too much trouble. This place really made our stay in Agrum bay.

Arugam Bay is busy in August. All the properties seem to be highly priced given the short season and high demand. We really liked this place and would love to come back. Occassional power cuts but they were brief.

Quiet and restful place - beautiful little garden which was a lovely oasis of peace and quiet. We liked the location - the surf schooll next door worked really well for us. The staff went above and beyond to help us have a great time - arranging cakes for the boys birthdays and sweepign the rooms and solving any questions we had efficiently and quickly. They were easy to contact and very friendly.

Mohamed is the best host i have ever stayed at any place. Very helpfull, answers all the questions, gives good recomendations, arranges all activities, safaris, surfing lessons and ayuerveda treatments, transportation, money exchange, etc... We enjoyed every minute we stayed there. It is litterraly 2 steps to the beach, in the center of Arugam Bay close to all restaurants and activities. Thank you Mohamed!!!

This is a very special place, not in the loud area of town and very neat and tidy! Beaitiful garden, clean rooms, comfy beds! We loved this small secluded gem! Mohammed and Nasir were the biggest surprise! Very friendly and helpful, even organised a birthday cake for our daughters birthday!!! No problem to big for Mohammed! Surpised us with snacks in the evening and coffee on demand! Will definately recommend!

It's a great accomodatian to stay in the quiet part of ArugamBay. The host Mohamed is super friendly, helps you every time and is always there if you need something. He organized a tuctuc driver, safari tour and the surfboards for a really good price. Sometimes we got snacks and drinks for the day! The room has a good air conditioner, mosquito net and everything you need. The best of all is the cute garden when you are entering. Mohamed makes sure that everything is clean and cares all the plants with lots of love. We can only recomment the apartment when you are coming to Arugambay! Thank you for everything!

We had the absolute pleasure of spending seven nights at Lucky Bay as a family of four, and it truly felt like a home away from home. Mohammed is the kind of host you rarely come across—warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making sure his guests are happy. His motto? “If you’re happy, I’m happy.” And he means it. The location is unbeatable—just 20 to 30 meters from the beach and about 40 meters from the main street, filled with cozy bars, local restaurants, and shops. Despite its central spot, it’s wonderfully peaceful at night, ensuring restful sleep after a day in the sun. The entrance to the rooms is simply magical: a sandy path winding through lush greenery that feels like a miniature botanical garden. Everything is immaculately kept—paths raked daily, a basin with water to rinse off sandy feet, and even a touch of incense to welcome you each evening. The hammock by the porch adds a relaxed, surfy vibe that perfectly fits the spirit of Arugam Bay. The rooms are comfortable and cool, thanks to both air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The bed is cozy and comes with a mosquito net, just in case. The bathroom is simple but functional—exactly what you need after a day on the beach. One of the most heartwarming touches: almost every day, Mohammed would surprise us with a delicious homemade treat prepared by his family. Our stay at the Lucky Bay Hotel was truly unforgettable! ❤️ The owner was absolutely first-class, friendly and helpful, and really went out of his way to provide us with everything we needed. You could tell how much he cares about his guests and their experience. He repeatedly brought food, freshly baked and prepared by his sister, and he always offered tea and coffee. Sometimes we weren't hungry at all and skipped dinner. ❤️☀️🍀🌴 The location couldn't be better: just steps from the beach – perfect for relaxing and surfing. The surf conditions were fantastic, and we had a great time in the water every day. ❤️🌴☀️😘🏄🏽‍♂️ Plus, there are several excellent restaurants within walking distance, so dinner was always easy and enjoyable. ☀️❤️🍀🌴 All in all, a perfect stay in a perfect place. They quiet houses of Lucky Bay are hidden away from the rush of Arugam Bay’s main road by an enchanting garden. Muhamad, the owner, made me feel at home throughout my stay, inviting me for tea, offering me some muffins and giving me daily advice about the local surf spots. The beach is also less than a minute away by foot.

Excellent location - 20 meters to the beach, the Main Street with all caffès and shops. 15 min driving to Peanut Farm - the starting point for beginners in surfing. Banana Cafe is just next to the hotel and has very nice food and drinks. Mohammed is very friendly, he gave us delicious cakes, arranged surfing classes for us, always helped us with everything we need. Other staff were also very helpful. The room was clean, has good AC, the bed was comfy. We really enjoyed staying at Lucky Bay.

Absolutely nothing !

It was super clean and had a relaxed, homey vibe - definitely a place to feel comfortable and unwind. The air conditioning was a bonus, there was space to park scooters, and you could check the surf from the end of the road with a glimpse of Main Point just visible. Muhammed was an exceptional host with excellent English communication skills. He truly went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable—baking a fruit cake for us and even gifting us fresh pastries before our morning surf. It really felt like a place to settle in and feel at home. Highly recommended!

The location was perfectly between the main street of Arugam Bay and the beach with both ends of the town easily walkable. There could have been a little more storage in the room for clothes but there's plenty of places to hang clothes outside. Mohammed was fantastic, really nice, welcoming and attentive. Nothing to do with the hotel but if you're British be warned, I got absolutely battered by this strip of ocean. Great fun but the water is so strong, I left Arugum Bay with plethora of injuries and I consider myself a strong swimmer and body boarder in the UK and Europe. Absolutely everything about our stay with Mo was great.

The location is absolutely perfect. Away from the hustle but still only 200m from the main street. Everything you need and Mo stops at nothing to ensure you have a great stay.
