There was no mattress protector on the bed . Our room was off the main communal area so noisy at times . You could hear the neighbours tv and radio early in the morning . ( not our hosts fault but woke us up each day )

Great location if walking the Pekoe Trail. The host picked us up and took us back into town after our stay . Great local breakfasts each day . I was able to borrow a yoga mat which is always a bonus .

Just be careful when you come out of the bathroom into the bedroom. When you have wet feet, the floor can be extremely slippery - I completely slipped over. We put a towel down after that.

We could sit and watch the sunrise from the balcony which was amazing! Our hosts were so helpful - they facilitated a brilliant day trip with a tuk tuk driver at a good rate. The breakfast was delicious.

The rooms were relatively spacious and comfortable, the toilets were relatively large and clean, and the staff was lovely! They even packed some (free) sandwiches for us, before we went out on the Pekoe trail. Great location. Highly recommended!

stayed at Lilly Guest Inn after completing Stage 12 of the Pekoe Trail, and it was a great place to rest. The guesthouse is just over 1 km from the trail end, making it a convenient stop. The room was comfortable, and while the food was okay, the owner was very helpful and accommodating. Overall, a pleasant stay after a long day of hiking!

There was a lot of outside noise overnight despite having windows and doors closed.

The hosts are fantastic. Couldn't do enough for me. He organised a tuktuk to collect me from the train station and he personally dropped me off at the bus station when I left. Very attentive and wanted to ensure I had the best time whilst there. He advised on so many activities and attractions to see. He assisted with organising a tuktuk driver to the areas I wanted to see and helped me with forwarding journey plans onto my next destination. I was even provided with takeaway breakfasts both mornings when I left the hotel early to go in search of sunrises.

When I stayed (Jan '25) there were construction works going on, very loud until 6.30 pm. I left at 8 am and they still had not begun to work again.

Beautiful hosts and great authentic food. I had a beautiful chat with the lady while having dinner and they were all very ready to help with things to do and my next travels. Super comfortable bed and warm blanket (it gets cold in this area after sundown). Nice views from balcony. Super hot water. About 5 minutes away by tuktuk from the main centre. Buses can take you to Uda Walawe and train to Ella / Kandy. Lots of hikes and waterfalls and tea plantations to explore around.

Great value for money. The owners are so friendly and helpful. They come and greet you every time you arrive or leave the house and are very helpful arranging taxi’s or activities and even gave us a packed breakfast when we needed to get up early :) Also the hot shower was great after a rainy day ☺️

Hot water comes and goes (but i think this is pretty normal in SL)

Clean, comfortable bed, owners friendly and helpful. The furniture in the room is a bit outdated, but from what we have seen,.it looks this is pretty standard for this price range. They provided us twice a breakfast take away as we were leaving at 5am for some excursions in the area. Also, in our opinion the position is very good as not far from Haputale city (200-300 LKR) but in a quite area.

There was some noise coming from the dining area of an evening when the hosts were handling other guest enquiries, (our room opened directly into the dining area). This was probably not the case for other rooms where they didn't open onto this part of the property. Would have been nice to have a kettle / cups in the room.

Lily's was outside of Haputhale, but close enough to walk in. View from the room was good (subject to the weather!!). Had our own balcony with chairs for when the weather was kind to us. Breakfasts were plentiful and varied and served at a time to suit us. Bathroom was nicely tiled, modern looking and decent hot water. Hosts were lovely and happy to help with ideas for visits and arranging transport. Next door was a great tuk-tuk driver (Mohammed) who always gave us a good price quote, and we ended up using him a lot during our stay.

Having dinner at the hotel is considerably more expensive (2000 LKR per person excluding any drinks) than at most sit down restaurants (800-1500 LKR) I understand charging more for the convenience of eating at your hotel, but we were not expecting such a difference when seeing the total during check-out.

Our hosts were very attentive and arranged for breakfast and dinner at the times we scheduled. They even made a separate portion of roti for us to take for our lunch, which was very kind of them. Wi-Fi was stable and with decent bandwidth. The location is a walkable distance to Haputale center and also close to nice hiking routes.
