Just me and my girlfriend staying at the property. The staff were lovely, and it was like a bit of a homestay experience. They helped us boom a safari for the next morning too.

We wished we stayed longer as we only stayed for one night for the safari!

I absolutely loved my stay here. It’s one of those places that you won’t forget - the staff were so kind and lovely and just made us feel some welcome. I loved looking out to the lake and seeing the beautiful scenery and catching sight of eagles and kingfishers nearby. We had dinner and I enjoyed the coconut soup! Thank you again to the lovely staff, waking up when we went to safari early, helping us with bags and just being so lovely!

The house is located a bit far so you need to go by tuk tuk but it's really worth it due to the beauty of the place. It's only about 10/15 minutes from the bus station by tuk tuk.

They make you feel very welcome, like at home. The staff is really nice and always willing to help you. The views from the room are really amazing. We also had dinner one of the nights and the food was really good also and at a very good price. Everything great, thanks!

The road to get there is pretty precarious, but quite honestly worth it!

Beautiful location, right on the lake, with loads of lake wildlife visible from your window. Super comfy and clean beds with brilliant air conditioning. The fruit in the takeaway breakfast was delicious. The hosts were very accommodating when it came to checkout, as our safari was running late.

We had an amazing stay at the lake view cottage. What an perfect location! Upul, the manager and cook, was helpful and attentive. He made sure we were taken care of. Our room was clean with a breath taking view. In the morning Upul made us the best breakfast and in the evening he showed his cooking skills again. We had the pleasure of enjoying some of his excellent Sri Lankan curry’s. We rate this lodge definitely a 10 out of 10 Nothing missed during our stay! The experience was enjoyable and exceeded every expectation!

We arrived to fresh coconuts and great hospitality! The room had good AC, hot water and a great view of the lake. A bit out of the way but the owner helped provide tuktuk. Yummy breakfast!

Great room overlooking the lake from our bed. Birdwatching from the comfort of your room. They organised Safari tours to Yala, Bundala and around Tissa Lake, all of which were excellent with knowledgeable guides who went the extra mile, making it a memorable stay.

The place is a bit hard to reach as the road is really bumpy. Need a tuk tuk to reach it.

We spent 5 amazing days at Lake View Cottage and loved every moment! The hotel is right by the lake, with beautiful views of green meadows, water buffaloes, and lots of birds. The area is surrounded by rice fields and huge banana plantations. Our room was spacious, with a large terrace perfect for enjoying the views. The shower had good hot water pressure. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious, and every morning we enjoyed fresh coconut juice. The host and his kid were super friendly and made us feel at home. We also booked through the hotel a tour to Bundala Bird Park. Our guide, Kasun showed us so many birds and even helped us spot three crocodiles! To my mind this hotel is a very good choice in terms of price-quality. We hope to come back next year for a longer stay.

We stayed here for 1 night whilst visiting Yala National Park and had a great experience. The hosts were very welcoming and offered us some refreshing coconuts when we arrived. The rooms were clean and had all the facilities needed. The lake views and surroundings were also incredible. This place offers dinners cooked by the host, which was perfect after returning from the safari. The breakfast is also cooked by the host, with a fresh selection of fruit, bread and omelettes. This place also offers other services like taxis and safari tours.

It is far from the city, not a walking distance, tuk tuk is the only option to get to the centre. No shops or restaurants in the nearest neighbourhood.

It’s long way into town, so be aware of that for dinner etc.

As the name suggests the lake view. It’s directly located at the lake and you have a wonderful view over it. The staff is a one-man-show, but he’s really kind. He prepared a breakfast to go for our safari at 4 am!
