In the city centre, not close to the more touristy parts of Trinco.

Close to the beach, great pool, cool air conditioning in every room, nice relaxing facilities, great decor, nice layout, billiard room, tv room, lovely large kitchen (downstairs), kayaks, washing machine.

The owner, Pascal, is a big disappointment. I booked the property months ago. According to the add, no downpayment was needed. But Pascal started pushing me through personal messages. He wanted me to pay the full amount, months in advance, and called it a downpayment. He also asked to see a copy of my plane ticket. I had to contact booking.com to intervene. But a few weeks later he started pushing AGAIN for money. In the end I paid him in full, weeks before my trip to SL. As soon as Pascal got his money, he turned very quiet... Let me just mention at this point that he's French, and not Sri Lankan. Oh and one more thing: in the ad, Pascal mentions Miriam, the caretaker, saying how HE TRAINED HER WELL. That is such a foul thing to say. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall while Pascal taught her how to hold a broom! The other way around, more likely!

Only 2 stars: One for Miriam, the actual caretaker, who was kind and capable. And one for the house, which is really great. BUT.

Very Rustic - not luxury Uncomfortable beds Lounge unusable as no air con Beach out front lots of rubbish due to construction site next door Not at the tourist end of town so less restaurants

On the beachfront Has a washing machine and pool Miriam who is available to assist on site is lovely Bathrooms were relatively new and clean Met a helpful neighbour and has a real local feel
