Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing - the property and accommodation was above our expectation.
Leopards Reach was our favourite accommodation during our 2 week visit of Sri Lanka. We booked a lodge at Leopard Reach as we wanted a different experience to the hotels we’d stayed in along the way and it was truly magical. It had all the home comforts of a hotel, a range of amenities like the jacuzzi and pool, but tucked away in the outback. It’s a perfect location for those interested in immersing themselves in nature or wanting to part take in a safari trip at the nearby Yala National park. A high-end property, the lodge was immaculate - clean, bug free, connected to WiFi and television and private. The properties dogs would visit us and we had a surprise visit from some Langar monkeys one morning. Fonseca and the team are really welcoming, friendly and attentive, and arranged everything for us including the safari. The meals that we had tasted incredible and we even had our own private BBQ on the evening. This really was an amazing experience as a real highlight of our honeymoon.

SwitzerlandThe dinner is set so you don't get to choose what you want and the quantity. The staff is always around you. I understand it is to help not getting lost but it is really uncomfortable especially when you need to go to the bathroom at dinner and a guy comes and waits for you :( they should install signs with arrows and lights on the path way.
The villa is really nice and you get your own small pool and jacuzzi. The bed is big and comfortable and you are away from other people.

AustraliaBeautiful stay in the jungle, just outside the national park. There are only a few bungalows which make it a very personal experience. The bungalows are beautiful and have everything you need. The dinner and breakfast is amazing, so much food you won’t eat it all. A short jeep ride into the resort and you are totally in the bush. Silva, the host, was also great fun and went out of his way to make it a really enjoyable experience for us.

New ZealandNot a complaint but the size of all meal servings is huge so if your extremely hungry or a big eater, this place will suit you even more.
The size of the tent room was great. Absolutely loved being able to go for a dip in the pool after a hot day. Highly recommend the bbq dinner as this was yet another highlight of our stay.

United KingdomWe had the most incredible experience staying at Leopard Reach in Yala, and so much of that is thanks to Silva. From the moment we booked, Silva's communication was excellent – clear, prompt and genuinely helpful – and he continued to go above and beyond to ensure our comfort throughout our stay. We felt truly at home at every stage, thanks to his attention to detail and warm hospitality. Our cabin was immaculate, perfectly clean, beautifully maintained, and complete with a private pool that made our stay feel like a luxury retreat. Every corner of the property reflects care and pride, and the atmosphere is peaceful and inviting. One of the highlights was a beautiful sunset walk led by Silva, which gave us the chance to soak in the natural beauty of the area in a tranquil setting. We were also treated to a delicious dinner that exceeded all expectations, and a thoughtfully packed breakfast for our early morning safari. Every detail was considered. Leopard Reach is an underrated gem. It offers an authentic, personal experience that you simply will not find at larger resorts and is nestled away in nature and amongst wildlife. We cannot recommend it highly enough, and we are so grateful to Silva for making our time here so special. A truly Sri Lankan experience.

United Arab EmiratesStuff is amazing. Very good breakfast and dinner. Room is clean and comfortable. Safari and experience in general a bit overpriced. The gym for the safari was very old and noisy compared with all the other jeeps. The driver was lovely and very experienced.

United KingdomFantastic yala experience and really enjoyed our stay at the Leopard reach. All the team there were amazing with a special mention to Silva who looked after us. Food was also brilliant with more than you could wish for. Organised safaris were also really good. Felt like the driver really made the effort to make us see as many of the animals as possible. Beautiful place.

EstoniaThere is little to do apart from going on a safari. The road to the hotel is quite bumpy. Regarding the food, I wish they offered more local food (you can order that for lunch, as we did) instead of western style food (BBQ, pasta etc).
Leopard Reach is close to the Yala park entrance (you still have to take a 20-30 min ride) and provides good access to the area. The staff is friendly and try their best. The tents are nice, clean and secluded enough from each other, though offer little views (its bushes and trees all around). You have a small private plunge pool to cool off. The food is plentiful and tastes good.

United KingdomThe trudge to site from were the jeep could go no further. The property itself was excellent.
It was a great glamping experience in the jungle right next to the safari park. Although we needed a jeep to get to the hotel from the nearest town, and trudged through the jungle to get to the venue (because the road was out) once at the venue the facilities and accommodation were great. Krishan and his staff were excellent. The breakfast and barbecue dinners were fantastic. Soo much food!

NetherlandsPositive criticism is that they can organize there bbq smarter but it means from good to really good, you get a lot of food and if this is organized and personalized a little better they waste less.

Your are in the middle of the nature with all the wild life around you and don’t worry they take care the rent is bug free ;-) very good breakfast. AlbaniaUnfortunately what ruined our experience was the overpriced and under-communicated details of the “5 hour safari” package which costs $90USD but is actually only a 3 hour safari (that’s assuming you get in the entrance by 6am, which we didn’t, we got in close to 7am because there was a huge queue, which you would think any experienced driver would consider and perhaps suggest leaving earlier) so in the end it turned out to be a 2.5hour safari, which btw you cannot see much in Yala within 2.5hrs, because the park is huge. The accommodation is about 40mins drive to the main entrance of Yala National Park, so it’s not very close. I spoke to the Manager, Krishan, who I had been communicating with when booking the safari and told him that calling a 3hr safari a 5hr safari is misleading and that he hadn’t communicated that it was going to take up to 1hr each way to the safari entrance. He tried to defend himself and did not at any point simply just apologise for not communicating these details. It was a frustrating experience because we could have gotten an actual 5hr safari with an external provider for much less, but thought that the hotel would offer an experienced, premium experience. We were very disappointed at both the safari experience and the lack of accountability taken by the Manager. Additionally on our departure it seems the manager had not organized the departure jeep to take us back to the town, and so instead of suggesting we stay at our accommodation till our transport arrived, we sat in a field, sweating, waiting for another vehicle that was going into town with other guests to hitch a ride with. So, super premium experience. In the end the one person we felt we got a premium experience with, was Silva. So thankyou for caring about your customers and going above and beyond.
We stayed in the honeymoon tent/cabin and it was excellent! Very clean with new fixtures and beautiful attention to detail and at night you can hear all the sounds of nature, but you also had a fan and AC. There was also a really nice dipping pool. Silva really took care of us and made us feel so welcome. He took us on a guided walk around the nearby reservoir and rice terrace and we saw crocodiles. You are not allowed to walk there on your own as there are wild elephants in the area. We got a free pickup from Tissamaharama in the safari jeep as the roads leading into the accommodation are uneven dirt tracks.

DenmarkTo the owner of Leopard reach: The stay is too expensive even though I know it costs a lot to maintain. Also the safari that is coordinated by Leopard Reach is way to expensive compared to what you get and compared to other companies.
What a memorable experience! From the great glamping tents, to the beautiful surroundings and the lovely staff and sweet dogs protecting our “tent” at night. Thank you for making this a stay not to forget. Silva, my friend. Thank you for your kindness and friendliness. It wouldn’t have been the same experience without you. Take good care of the dogs, please. Best, Olivia & Nicolai
