I like walking, so no problem, but you have to walk up steeply for a bit.

Super cute family, very friendly. You have a proper entrance to the room. The view is amazing, away from the hustle.

The hosts were really really lovely, the Homestay had beautiful surroundings and even monkeys just outside! It was about a 10 minute walk to the main town. It was a steep walk but you do get used to it!

Perfect budget option, Kavindu offers a very good quality/price ratio. I loved the fact that the property was off the main (and very busy) Main Street in Ella center in a very quiet part of the city. 10-minute walk from Ella's center and not on the too hilly side of the city. Very nice place to relax. The hosting family is just perfect, very lovely and welcoming. Took the breakfast; very generous and very good quality/price ratio. The place is almost never available, got lucky on that day; I understand why it's always booked. I would definitely go back.

Really lovely stay with a very kind and welcoming family. The young son and mother were very helpful throughout our stay, offering tea or coffee whenever we needed. We also used their laundry service which was quick, clean and cheaper than any others we could find online. The place itself is also very clean and has a really beautiful garden where you can sit and have tea watching squirrels and birds flying between the trees. It is in a very good location, being a short walk into Ella town or the start of the little Adam’s peak and nine arches bridge trails. Would recommend! 😊

This is a truly authentic Homestay experience. They have one en-suite room attached to their small, humble home. What they lack in facilities they more than make up for in friendliness and service. We had breakfast one morning which was LKR 900 and it was enormous and enough to feed us for the day. You share the house with three generations who are all happy to chat and are always offering you tea which is very kind. On a morning monkeys visit the terrace looking for food which is cool……if you like monkeys. The location is a 10 minutes walk from Ella centre and 20 from the train station. If you are looking for a true Sri Lankan experience in a rustic setting then this is for you. It is incredibly cheap and unique accommodation.

Great location, lovely helpful family. Got to see many monkeys from the patio. We were provided with delicious traditional breakfast and lots of tea! Also got a free tuk tuk ride to the train station. Thank you very much!

They can do nothing about it, but the last road, i found to steep for our bike. But i parked it down the road and it was fine.

It was a nice local family living here. Grandparents with their children and grandchildren. In beautiful nature, walking distance from the busy centre of Ella, but away from all that. We saw the big squirels, called punishmentsquirrels and beautifull birds from the terrace. The grandmother has an adult autistic son living there. I am autistic, but less noticeble and was happy to see the son living here happily at home with his family. The hotwater shower was the best my son said. (I stayed with my 15 year old son) We had a fan. The room was perfect, only downside was just one plug

We really enjoyed our 7 night stay at Kavindu Homestay. The location is perfect for walking into the main street of Ella and to all the main attractions like 9 arch bridge, little Adams peak etc. The room was basic but comfortable, excellent for the price. The host was the most lovely lady we have met during our whole stay in Sri Lanka. Always a smiling face when we came back from a day out and often provided a pot of tea. Her family was around too, it was lovely to meet them and get to know the family a little during our stay for a genuine Sri Lankan experience. We had breakfast at the homestay every day which was an authentic Sri Lankan breakfast. It was slightly different each day so we were able to try lots of different things, I would highly recommend having the breakfast for a small extra cost.

Only small thing to note is that the room can be a little damp. But it didn't cause many problems for us at all.

We loved our stay here. The host family are beyond helpful and friendly. They provide amazing and generous breakfasts , a laundry service and any advice you need for the area. The bed is super comfy , the shower is hot and powerful. The place is clean and perfectly located to all the attractions in Ella. Close to town and only a 15 minute walk to the start of the walking trails for the 9 arch Bridge and little Adams peak. Incredible value for money, couldn't recommend more!!

The family running this guest house are very kind and welcoming. The bed is super comfortable. Walking distance to everything. It has a beautiful secluded view. The food was also delicious. Loved this place!

The property is up a steep hill. The tuktuk that I took from town to get me there on arrival refused to drive me up the last steep hill, so I had to carry my heavy suitcase to the accommodation. There are tuktuks going up there and it wasn’t a problem to organise one for my departure though.

It’s a great location with a terrace overlooking greenery and trees that are full of monkeys. The family is looking after you and ensures you have everything but also lets you have your privacy. I can highly recommend getting the breakfast!

I had an amazing lovely stay at Kavindu's house. Him and his family are adorable. The room is great and has its own bathroom, and you get to sit on the terrace in the middle of trees. The house is close to the center, but still away enough that you feel relaxed and in a home environment. Kavindu's mom, Shriya (sorry if I am misspelling) made me an AMAZING breakfast. In summary, they all treated me so well, and I cannot thank them enough. If you are in Ella, also check out the Soul Cafe, this new place where Kavindu is currently working, a suspended deck very relaxed with an amazing view of the nine arch bridge, the mountains and forest. Thank you so much, Kavindu and the whole family! Gihilla en nam!

Actually, the room more beautiful than the picture, we stayed there two nights, everything is perfect. The landlady so kindly, ever morning or we arrived home also made tea for us. Love here very much!!
