Very comfortable and situated right next to the lake. The ladies who run the hotel are so wonderful and make you feel right at home. They were really accommodating to my dietary requirements for breakfast and there was so much food. The lady who runs the hotel was incredibly helpful when I was booking my tuk tuk to the train station too, speaking with the driver to make sure they knew where they were going and ensured I got off safely.

BUT!!!!! Next to the guesthouse there is a resto with very loud music, so i could not sleep until 3am. Maybe because it was Friday and Saturday, but it definitely made the stay bad. + Booking gave me a discount, that is why I booked this place, but in the end they charged me without this discount and since ladies do not speak English, and the bill was done by owner, I had to pay what they asked for me. Bad experience in terms of it.

We stayed in this guesthouse for two nights during the Esala Perahera, and it has been absolutely comfortable and welcoming! The room itself was clean and comfortable, and the toilet was definitely spacious. Thumbs up for the mosquito net, which is always a must in sri lanka! It has a super convenient location: one-minute walk from the lake, and just a few minutes tuktuk ride to the centre. The breakfast was good, abounding and varied. A special thanks to Kush, the host, that has always been so available and nice to us! My friend started to have a minor issue, and Kush didn't hesitate to help us find the best clinic and contact the best doctor for us! We also had the chance to meet her husband, who happened to be a hatha yoga teacher: definitely advice to do a lesson with him!

A little haven of traditional calm with lovely gardens and heaps of Kandyan artefacts. Fascinating and friendly hostess. Excellent location just a short walk from everything. Delicious traditional Sri Lankan breakfast - great value

Very cozy place (if you’re looking for the Kandiest place in Kandy, I would presume this is it), great location super close to the lake, very friendly host and very helpful. They also organize yoga sessions.

The owner/host was so helpful. She definitely went above and beyond. Comfy bed, gorgeous artwork and sculptures, great hot shower. Loved the location so close to Kandy Lake and the tea service.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The host also offered me to practise yoga on the terrace. In addition,they can also organise eco-friendly tours (hiking,ayurveda...). With regard to the food,the breakfast was amazing. Since I stayed for 1 week,they even once cooked a delicious dinner for me. I also very much liked that there is an area where one can sit outside.

I had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous, tastefully decorated, well-located home in Kandy. The owner is very kind and accommodating and speaks perfect French and English. There is a very good restaurant right next door. I wish I could have stayed longer than one night!

we absolutely loved our stay in the beautiful 200 year old Traditional Kandy House. it's a real treat - the architecture and artwork is lovely, the bedrooms and communal lounge and patio really pretty, and breakfast delicious with something different every day. it's rare to find this authentic experience for the price! Kush looks after you beautifully as do the lovely ladies in the team at the house. we also loved our spa treatments and fabulous trek arranged with them. the location is great, just 15 to 20 minutes walk into town along the quiet side of the lake. we were sad to leave - would have loved to do more trekking, do a cookery course and, of course, indulge in another spa day. i hope we'll be back one day!

Not a huge issue but ants in the bathroom, they don't really go to the bedroom tho, also, after shower, as there is no glass, the bathroom floor gets really wet. Regardless of that small things I would stay there again.

Good location, still close to centre (15-20 min walk) but away enough from traffic of the city. Tasty breakfast and coffee / tea on arrival. Really lovely and accommodating staff, will make you feel like at home. Unique building with traditional furniture and feel to it.

It is hard to think of anything negative to say about this place. The house is historical, with beautiful traditional and artistic decor. The rooms were large, classic bedrooms, with a high ceiling and reliable hot water. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped me prepare some medicine I had obtained because I was unwell, and adjusted the breakfast to meet my dietary requirements (gluten-free). The atmosphere was also nice, with it being easy to chat with the other friendly guests at meal times. The location is good - fairly close to the main sites but just far enough away to be out of the tourist crowds of the centre itself.

- good location - good breakfast (served in nice Café just next door) - very few mosquitos - comfy bed Recommendations: if you like hiking, do the Pekoe trail Part 1. I liked the "no name"-restaurant close-by (however, bring some time).

Beautiful house that is over 200 years old. Very cool, airy bungalow furnished with traditional furniture and art. It's been passed down through the generations and gives an intimate sense of the local history and culture. Kush the owner runs it well with the three ladies who cook wonderful meals. She teaches French language and literature and can tell you fascinating stories about her family and home. Very kind and generous lady. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
