I was very happy with my decision to stay here instead of a hotel in the city center. I could enjoy clean air and a peaceful atomosphere. The room was clean and spacious with a great view of trees and sound of birds. The staff were warm and very kind and they were always ready to help and support me. As a female solo traveler, I really appreciated their support. The owner gave me useful information about places to visit and was always happy to answer my questions. The communication was very smooth and he replied very quickly through Whatsapp and I really appreciated it. It was a home-stay like experience and I really enjoyed my stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at Kandy Lotus Chalet. The rooms were comfortable and spacious with good A/C. Dasun, the owner, was very helpful offering advice on restaurants and activities in Kandy. Nazar, the housekeeper, was always available and keen to help, even when we had to leave for hiking in the Knuckles Range at 5am! The location is in a nice, quiet neighbourhood 10 mins from the city by tuk tuk.

Not a criticism, but it is outside the city so some tut tut drivers don't know about it or where it is - they need to call the hotel for directions.

Stayed twice now, the owner ( even though he wasn't there this time) spoke to me to make sure everything was ok and the staff were very helpful. his housekeeper fed me. The setting is lovely, about two Km from Kandy.

Kandy Lotus Chalet is away from the noisy city center of Kandy. It is surrounded by trees and bird songs. Inside, the kitchen area is spacious and well equipped. The rooms are also very spacious with all the furniture needed. The AC works really well and is well maintained. Dasun, the owner, is really caring and did all in his power to ensure we had a brilliant stay. We highly recommend for one or several nights.

If you’re looking to unwind and escape the city’s hustle and bustle, head to this place. Nestled amidst nature and close to a serene river, it’s the perfect spot to relax. Dusan is particularly helpful and easygoing, while Nasar, the cook, is a caracter guy who’ll make you laugh, and makes a good cup of tea. It’s like staying in a cozy home, not a lifeless hotel.

We would like to thank for a wonderful stay in Kandy Lotus Chalet! We planed stay one night but we stayed three. We are in Candy for the second time and we stayd in this beautiful villa in quite part of Kandy full of greenery and birds with beautiful wiew. The owner Dasun and housekeeper Nazar who took care of us, were very nice.They fulfilled all our wishes and our whims. Delicious food, whatever you wish. Breakfasts and dinners in Sri Lankan style which we love…Nazar is perfect cook :) Dasun helped us with everything and was incredibly hospitable. Not only the place is nice,but the people are important :) This was one of our best experiences in Sri Lanka. We highly recommend this accommodation. We will definitely be back.

The breakfast was outstanding—we had a Sri Lankan breakfast, which was both delicious and generous in portion. It was the perfect start to our days in Kandy. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully lit, offering a comfortable and relaxing ambiance. The bathroom was also large, stocked with all necessary toiletries and fresh towels. Everything was spotlessly clean, making the entire stay feel luxurious, yet at an incredibly affordable price. One of the most thoughtful touches was that the housekeeper waited for us both nights we stayed, ensuring we were comfortable. The manager continuously checked in to make sure we had the best Sri Lankan experience, and we highly recommend following his suggestions to make the most of your time in Kandy. A bit far from the centre of Kandy, but not a big deal.

Our stay at this hotel was very pleasant. The room was clean and spacious, with a terrace and a beautiful view of nature. The breakfast was very good and the staff very friendly and helpful. Many thanks to Yomal for his availability and advice. I would recommend it 100%!

The accommodation arranged a driver for a city tour for 3000 which was ok. We also traveled with this driver through Dambulla and Sigiriya to Trincomalee (30000). He wanted to offer us a safari in Minneriya National Park for a lot of money (€150 per person). Apart from this inflated fantasy price, the elephants are encircled by jeeps and separated from the herd (Google reviews). And no, even though we said that we didn't want to do a city tour with a boat trip in this heavy rain, he suddenly stopped by the roadside, where a glossy brochure for exactly this activity was handed to us.

Everything is relatively new and not worn out. However, it seems that more emphasis was placed on design than on functionality. Jamal took great care of everything and was very diligent. We had a very delicious breakfast. The location away from the hustle and bustle of the city has both advantages and disadvantages. We would recommend the accommodation. However, one should be aware that you can't just quickly go to a restaurant and that you'll constantly need a tuk-tuk, which means a constant price negotiation. 500 is a good price to get to the city. I recently traveled to Kandy for official business and needed to stay for 2 to 3 weeks. I must say, this place exudes a positive ambiance. The caretakers, Yomal and Kapila, are exceptionally friendly and provide outstanding service to their guests. The view from the property is breathtaking; from the room, you can see the longest river in Sri Lanka, which is deeply intertwined with the country’s history and civilization. The owner of the property is incredibly kind and responsive, even answering calls at midnight and promptly addressing any requests. This is precisely how a hotel or stay property should value its guests. I also had the opportunity to converse with other guests from China and Portugal, who shared my sentiments. They left the property with happy faces and positive mindsets. This is the ideal place for tourists visiting Kandy. While it may initially seem far from the town due to the winding roads, this is merely an illusion. The town and all essential facilities are conveniently nearby. I wholeheartedly recommend this property without hesitation to anyone considering a stay in Kandy.
