Such a lovely room we stayed in. Very clean and modern- the bed was very comfy and the bathroom was great. The owner is the most lovely and welcoming lady who can help you out if you have any questions about the town or Sri Lanka! She also has a lovely daughter who we sat and chatted to🥰

The bed is a bit short. Poor view from the window.

A very clean room, located in a quiet area. To reach the city center, you need to go down the hill. The room is equipped with all necessary items (air conditioner, hair dryer, refrigerator).

The pictures make it look like there is a nice view from the room and that there is a communal seating area but that’s actually in the main families sitting room in a separate part was not totally sure if we could use it as it was through a separate door. The room to stay in has big windows which opens onto a concrete staircase and walk way with no privacy so you need to have the curtains closed the whole time. When we asked for drinking water we were given water out of the tap (not safe to drink tap water in Sri Lanka as a westerner/traveller) which was quite concerning. Quite far out of town (10min tuktuk) and dangerous steep road at night with some unfriendly street-dogs so not suitable for walking really. The hosts are genuinely wonderful lovely people and were so kind and helpful I cannot fault the family at all. Just not quite the right location or set up for us personally. If you don’t mind being further out and without a view this could be a great cheap accommodation option!

Family hosting was absolutely wonderful and lovely, strong aircon, very soft bedsheets and comfy pillows.

Got a room at the ground floor - it’s beside their family kitchen and I couldn’t open the windows, so there’s been that light smell of food the whole time I was there. However, not a major issue if you are not a fancy traveler. The location is quite far out of town.

    It’s ok for one night.

    Nothing

Really lovely space in Kandy. It was just minutes from the city so we could grab a Tuk tuk to explore, but it was also tucked away from the city chaos which was lovely after long travel days. The aircon worked really well, the bathroom was modern and clean, and facilities were very comfortable. The hosts were so kind and helpful and allowed us to check out early to get to the train to Ella. Would recommend.

Beautifully presented spacious room with the most comfy bed we stayed in. The bathroom is western contemporary style like a hotel. The host was very helpful. We choose the location as it was a little out of town and wanted a quieter stay. It's a 10 to 15 minute walk into town. We walked in every day as it is down hill, best to use a tuk tuk to get home through pick me. Highly recommended.

The cleanest room we had so far. First, it was a bit challenging to find the hotel because it‘s brand new and the locals don‘t know it yet. But once we found it, it was amazing. The family welcomed us really heartwarmingly. Beside the room with comfy bed, there was a clean bathroom with hot water and everything you need. 10/10.

One point that might be a bit inconvenient is that we had to be back at 11 pm. We only did sightseeing so it was fine for us. It was very slightly dusty on a tiny part of the room.

Very friendly and helpful hosts. Super nice room with aircon.

Our stay at Mount Airy, Aniwatta was a perfect blend of warm hospitality, stunning views, luxurious

Our family had the pleasure of staying at Mount Airy, Aniwatta in Kandy for one night (June 9th - June 10th), and it was an absolutely amazing experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and exceptional service. The property itself is nestled in a picturesque location, offering stunning views of the surrounding hills and lush greenery. The serene and tranquil atmosphere provided the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our room was impeccably clean, spacious, and elegantly decorated, with all the modern amenities one could ask for. Mrs. Damayanthi (the co owner) and her staff at Mount Airy, Aniwatta went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. In fact, they were amazingly attentive and friendly, always ready to assist with any requests. We were particularly impressed with the delicious breakfast, which featured a variety of authentic local dishes with milk rice and fresh fruit juices, all freshly prepared and presented beautifully. Although there are only a few high-end rooms, the property boasts an Ayurvedic Spa and treatments on-site (there's a Ayurvedic channeling center at the adjoining ground floor, named Kandy Ayurvedic Channel Center- KACC). Professional Ayurvedic therapists and consultants are available, and I had the opportunity to enjoy an Ayurvedic massage that was amazingly relaxing. The location is ideal for exploring Kandy as its so close to the Kandy town, and with easy access to all the major attractions. Despite our short stay, we felt completely rejuvenated and cherished every moment spent at this charming property. We highly recommend Mount Airy, Aniwatta to anyone visiting Kandy. It is truly a hidden gem that offers a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and natural beauty. We look forward to returning for a longer stay in the future. Thank you to Mr. Keerthi, Mrs. Damayanthi (Owners), and the entire team for making our stay so memorable!
