Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Sri LankaThis is definitely a social hostel – within an hour, Thara, Chooty, and Tutu will feel like your best friends. They’re just the kindest, most fun people and truly make the place what it is. The treehouses are magical – tucked into the jungle and if you’re lucky, you might even spot elephants from your balcony. The dorms are comfy and clean enough, with mosquito nets, fans, an epic view and a cute little balcony to chill. There are tons of common areas and always something going on: sunrise hikes to Pidurangala, secret sunset spots, lake swims, safaris… you’ll never be bored. And the team is always around – they truly care about the people staying here, and it shows. The price is kind of ridiculous (in a good way) – it even includes breakfast! Lunch and dinner are cooked and shared together too, if you want and the food is next-level delicious. It’s close to the road so getting around is super easy – tuk tuks from the guys, bikes, scooters or just calling a PickMe. I ended up extending my stay longer than planned and only left because I had a flight but I’ll 100% be back!!

BrazilWe had a very good experience at this place! It is located in the jungle and sleeping in a treehouse is really special! You could hear all the wild animals during the night and the rain falling on the roof and the trees surrounding the tree house. The bathroom was very special, since it was located outside the room, shovering in the jungle was a nice experience. The sheets could have been a little bit cleaner, but overall it was very clean. And the absolutely best thing of this hotel is the crazy delicious food! A variety of home cooked dishes let's you find real joy! This is a family business and the people working there are very very friendly and helpful.🥰♥️

SpainThere was a full on party atmosphere, with both staff and guests having it large. I didn't mind, but we weren't there to party and sometimes it was a bit frustrating coz everyone was often drunk or hung over.
Cute and quirky rooms on stilts (stairs not for the faint hearted!) Lots of wildlife (and not only on the outside! We had monkeys, frogs and a million ants in our room at various times. Wild elephants, not in the room but they do come very close to the hostel, so don't wander around at night! (We did, and we got quite a fright!) It's a lovely place to get close to nature. Friendly vibe and lots of activities. Breakfast was included (tea/coffee, omelette, toast and fruit). There were communal dinners (no menu just everyone sitting down to eat what's cooked, vegetarian option) and there were lots of activities you could do. We did an elephant safari organised by the hostel and they showed us where we could go to swim in the nearby lakes, and arranged pickup at 4:30am to climb Pidurangala rock at the crack of dawn.

AustraliaOur room wasn't ready when we arrived at 6pm and they had to quickly clean it. We also felt the hosts wanted to be part of the action- which makes this place fun but also means they don't quite hit the mark in terms of hospitality.
Cool place - the tree house accommodation is beautiful and unique. If you're keen to be independent this place is great, if you're looking to be social this place is great (they cook dinner every night which you can opt into for a fee). We enjoyed meeting people but the organisation of this place was a little poor. Would go back for sure but probably do our own thing and organise things ourselves

Staff were very attentive & we could want for nothing. They offer everything you could need which made it very hard to leave. SpainOutside the village, a tukruk can take you there in 10 minutes for 1000-1500 rupees. Surrounded by nature, it's nice for the kind of people it attracts. You can connect with people sitting in hammocks at the end of the day. I participated in several activities for free, like the jungle trek. All with more people from the hostel, nice to meet fellow travellers. Dinner with the other guests, nice. Good atmosphere between people. That made me stay longer than I planned. It's out of Sigiriya surrounded by nature. A good place to rest several days. I would repeat. There's monkeys all around (close the window of the room), sometimes small frogs in the toilet and wild elephants pass by in the evening. You wake up with the sounds of nature around. It's clean, good mosquito nets, good bed, even towels. Good breakfast. The toilet is in the same house in the tree. Excellent value for money.

SpainWe stayed at the hostel for two nights and it was such a cool experience to sleep right in the middle of the jungle! Thara and the owner are super friendly, fun, and absolute Carrom champions (a game of Sri Lanka).😄 Thara took us on a tuk-tuk adventure to see both the sunrise and sunset, trully magical moments. Huge thanks to the whole team for making us feel so welcome. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a wild and authentic stay. Just keep in mind, you’ll be sharing the space with some jungle animals!
