Wonderful views from any of the 3 rooms. Practically on the beach. More of a home stay than hotel but food available all day. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. Bed big and comfy with excellent aircon within. Good restaurants within walking distance. 20 minute walk to wine shop and 5 minutes further walk to ATM. Only downsides are the bathroom and kitchen need refurbished, otherwise an excellent, relaxing stay. We paid £55 per night (January 2024)

We looooooved the fact that we could just walk to the beach directly from the room. The location was pretty good as it was so close to Galle fort. Sandun made amazing food. So so tasty.The tea was so good. Gamini was very friendly. Both of them were very nice and helpful. They had a good understanding about the area too. So the staff was exceptional! The room was spacious and had all the basic amenities. It even had a huge water filter with hot water which was so helpful. Overall we liked the place.

Isle of Thalpe is a unique and beautiful hotel with one step to the beach! Totally perfect service and kind people! We’re so grateful to Rasanga, Saman, Tharushka and Rahia for being helpful and friendly! Also there was a dog Ricky that I called Kiri, we gonna miss him! We enjoyed our time on Delawela beach even it was the end of season and ocean was stormy! It was beautiful and I enjoyed swimming in waves! Breakfast was great with Sri Lanka's omlet and fruits! Also we loved that we had the whole water cooler inside our kitchen. It was a great start of our journey on Sri Lanka! I gonna miss this place!

Location is very beautiful and clean. Unlike other hotels they provide water can which is great. Breakfast was very good. We ate string hoppers.

PortugalBreakfast is disappointing. They seems very reluctant to offer nice bread, and offer very minimal fruit, eggs and tea/coffee. We had to pay extra for juice. Considering the price we paid, we expected better quality of everything. Our room was only cleaned once. The entrance looks like a building site. Its right on a busy road.
Over priced. The photos are much better than the reality. The bed is nice and comfy Bathroom is awful Location is ok. Nice to be by the beach, but it is not private as they advertise or great for swimming. We were surprised how different the reality is from the photos. We complained and the management offered us a discount, even so we’d prefer value for money
