Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Sri LankaI had a beautiful and memorable stay at Tea Queens Bungalow for one night. The bungalow itself is wonderful, with rooms that are extremely comfortable, spacious, and impeccably clean. The surroundings are stunning—nestled amidst lush green tea plantations and serene nature, offering a peaceful and refreshing environment. The food was excellent—freshly prepared, delicious, and full of local flavours.Every meal added to the overall comfort and enjoyment of the stay. It was a truly relaxing experience, ideal for anyone looking to unwind and connect with nature. I highly recommend Tea Queens Bungalow for a calm and comfortable stay. A perfect getaway for nature lovers!

Queens Bungalow Hatton We had a wonderful stay at Queens Bungalow in Hatton! The location is perfect—right in the middle of a lush tea plantation, offering a peaceful and scenic environment. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, even arranging an amazing E-biking experience for us. You can also enjoy kayaking nearby. The rooms were spacious, clean, and the WiFi worked perfectly. The food was authentic and delicious. Highly recommended for anyone looking to relax and enjoy the beauty of Hatton!

United StatesI really wish they had mosquito nets in the rooms - it was amazingly comfortable but that wasn't great.
It was a nice place with nice food and people, and also the only place on the trail where I saw other hikers for Pekoe. It's a good location for the trail and there were lots of options for dinner and breakfast.

United KingdomThe bungalow is set in the most beautiful surroundings it would have been nice sit outside but the seating was very limited
The room was very nice and a great size. The food was excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. The best bit for us was the tea plantation tour. The guide was so knowledgeable, it was worth every penny. There’s no alcohol here so if you do like a beer you will need to buy your own and he will happily put it on the fridge for you

IrelandFirstly, the location in the middle of tea plantations is great. The hotel has a few walking trails nearby and you can take a Tuk Tuk to the beginning of a trail and walk back to the hotel. The views walking on Pekoe trail 8 are amazing with Adam's Peak in the distance when you are at the highest point if the trail. Secondly the staff are amazing. The meals at the hotel were so delicious, there is no need to eat anywhere else. If you want a base to explore the tea country and Adam's Peak this is a great choice. The hotel manager Murali looked after our every need from organizing Tuk Tuk or taxi to rescuing us from a trail when we could not get back before nightfall.

Location - Location- Location. Views from the bungalow are simply stunning. Can walk out straight out of the door for short walks or great place to stopover for the Pekoe Trail. Staff were super friendly and food fabulous.

United KingdomThis was a beautifully quiet area, with lovely staff. The Queens Tea Bungalow was recommended by the Pekoe Trail organisation, which is why we booked it. The trail runs near to the bungalow and the staff helped with the organisation of our local guide for the trail. There was a lovely seating are on the porch, perfect for reading after a days walk. Lovely home cooked traditional meals.

United KingdomThe authenticity. Very spacious room. The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. The tea plantation tour was amazing. Thank you to Rimus! He was very knowledgeable. A small tip for the tea tour, take some chocolate or sweets with you as the ladies picking the tea leaves wanted some and we didn’t have any on us.

United KingdomThe WiFi is awful - although you are connected, there is no connectivity. If you don’t have data, you will not be able to use the internet during your stage. The hot water was really difficult to control, it often came super hot for 5 mins and then went cold. Otherwise, everything else was exceptional!
The chef was phenomenal - we had 3 meals a day and food was so delicious. The guys that work there are so caring and accommodating, they made us feel really welcome and looked after. The deluxe queen room was really spacious and comfortable, and the bungalow itself had nice indoor and outdoor spaces to relax. Stunning setting in the middle of a tea plantation, and lots of activities which can be organised for guests including tea plantation tour, white water rafting, mountain biking and more!

The staff was absolutely brilliant. We were spoiled to the bones. They changed our room upon request so we got better garden view, we were served al fresco breakfasts, and they prepared special Christmas dinner for us. Beautiful surroundings with endless trails to walk across tea fields.
