The location is just incredible, the view over the valley is breathtaking. The rooms are well designed, cozy and clean. The host was very helpful and prepared a fantastic breakfast in the morning. Great value for money, definetely reccomended.

Little walk from main town without much light. Shower did not work perfectly as you have to keep the buttom pressed the whole time (not a big deal anyway).

This property is an absolute beautiful place to spend your time in Ella. Firstly, the location is amazing, you are within a 5/10 minute walk of the main Ella town but far enough away that you can’t hear any noise. The facilities are excellent, with a comfy big bed and very clean toilet/ shower area. The outside of this property is definitely the highlight with hanging hammocks where you can overlook the gorgeous Mountain View’s, where you can see the temple and the tea plantations. Darshana could not do enough to help us, sorting out laundry, making us a lovely breakfast each morning and decorating the room especially for part of our honeymoon. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here for at least 3 nights.

There is a garbage centre down the hill that unfortunately gives some bad smell. It’s not always but good to know.

Fantastic clean room, comfortable bed and stunning views. Our host was friendly, attentive and provided a welcome tea on arrival and insisted on carrying our bags up and down from the road. Good breakfast.

Absolutely brilliant rooms and spectacular views. May have been my favourite accommodation in 3 weeks of sri lanka. It's a bit of a walk to and from the city centre but tuktuks are easy to get. Also breakfast was great.

Our room smelt & felt a little damp which is a real shame as everything else was amazing about this property.

The views are incredible from Iydll Cottage. We really enjoyed the tea on arrival and in the mornings. The location is really good, walking distance (up steps) from the town but far enough away to not be affected by the noise. Parking for our Tuk Tuk. Hosts are very caring and friendly. Laundry service conveniently down the road.

Idyll Cottage is beautiful - you have a lovely view over the hills but can also walk to town within 5/10 minutes so it is perfect. The room was clean, lovely and the staff were very helpful and kind. We have recommended to friends and family coming to Sri Lanka!

Some waste disposal plant I guess, few hundred meters downhill burning waste. The smoke rises and may cause discomfort depending on the wind. This is just what I felt during my stay… only for a brief period…nothing serious

Nice location on top of the hill. Close to Ela town but then away all chaos of township. Nice view of hills right in front of you. Staff was very polite & met all our needs. Place was very clean as well

Most beautiful cottage in a serene setting, overlooking the hills of Ella. Far enough out that you don’t get any noise but you can walk into the centre in 5 mins. Great breakfast - hoppers, fruit and pancakes! The staff were very friendly and helpful. 100% recommend to all!

Not a negative, more a statement of fact, a short walk up a steep hill required when returning from the main bar and restaurant strips. Also, suggestion for improvement, rooms require more wardrobe, drawer, hanger space for guests.

Fantastic hospitality, the team were extremely helpful and accomodating. Good location, with incredible views of the landscape surrounding Ella. Spacious rooms, which were great value for money, all with a tasty breakfast.
