This was a great homestay/B&B with an awesome view from the rooftop terrace. The infrastructure is fairly simple and a bit outdated in some ways, but everything works – and the warm hospitality and many helpful tips from the hosts more than make up for it. It’s also quite peaceful: you might hear a party or two further down the hill, but never too late, and there’s hardly any road noise at all. A perfect spot for central accommodation without the downsides. We would definitely come back – and stay longer next time!

Very very helpful, wonderful views. We felt very welcome. They have been welcoming guests for 30 years and their experience shows. Ella must have changed a great deal as they were the 6th guest house to open and now there are 1000's.

The location was great. Pleasant view of the mountains from the terrace. Hardly 5 min walk to some of the best cafes. Staff Dhanush took care of all our needs and had great suggestions for cafes and places to visit.

My friend and I had been suffering from some unexpected stomach and digestive issues. When we arrived the host immediately had a solution for me in particular that ensures we were able to enjoy Ella and all the recommendations that were given to us. We were provided with tips and accurate information on how long it would take to go to Little Adam's Peak and the 9 Arches Bridge. The staff were very attentive and also checked in the morning if I was feeling better. The property also has great views and very comfortable seating options to view the views!

Ella itself is choked with tourists and traffic.

Great view, obviously. Big, comfortable room. Fan was quiet and effective. Lovely communal areas. Location close enough to walk everywhere but outside the madness of the main road. Welcome cup of tea was nice.

We loved our Stay at hilltop guest house We stayed there for two nights and had a great time. The host made us feel so welcomed They offered us to keep our bags while the room was getting ready (since we came before the check in time) and even let us use their restrooms so we can change out clothes and use the toilet They gave us a printed map of the Ella city with all the main attractions and explained to us how to get to them, they even got us a welcome drink from the avocados that they grow in their garden Extremely kind people, great view and great location just a few minutes walk from the center (it is on a bit of a hill though) Very clean and spacious room (in comparison to other accommodation we had in Sri Lanka) with a laundry service option Definitely would recommend

The staff here were so lovely and went out of their way to help us. The room is beautiful and the view from the roof top deck was amazing. One of our favorite places to stay while we have been in Sri lanka.

Economical stay with a good location. The best part about this stay was the check-in staff helping us plan our visit in Ella. They explained how to get to all of the major attractions and gave recommendations for everything as soon as we arrived. It was extremely helpful and made the trip easy.

It was a bit pricey, especially the laundry service. There was something wrong with the pipes for a while and the shower didn't have warm water for a bit and then the water was brown.

We enjoyed the bedroom and the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The view was exceptional and the location was very close to all of the sightseeing and the most important locations around Ella. They gave us a map with the most important places to visit in the area that helped a lot and they always supported with instructions to reach the places we wanted to go to. When we urgently needed a place for friends to stay, they helped us find one available in a neighboring hotel.

Bathrooms were a little old and one mosquito net was ripped. Breakfast was not included.

We loved the place! It’s just off the main road but feels like you’re high up in the mountains. Breathtaking views from the terrace and rooftop terrace. Beds were really comfortable and we slept so well. Staff was really friendly and very well organised. Honest prices and communication. So sad we only stayed for one night, I recommend at least two or three!

The place is exactly near the ella city centre and all the tourist attractions. You can see the amazing view of adams peak from the rooftop. Quite clean and spacious room. Recommended.

Great location, very quick, steep walk to the main street. wonderful views of Ella Rock from the terraces, I watched the sunrise over the mountains from the top deck. Room was comfortable and clean.
