The door to our room was sticking and the building is just new! So some attention to detail is required to the finishing touches. I expected air conditioning but we were only provided with a fan.

The pool was excellent and we used it daily. Even though the beach is right at the door step we were keen to swim for fitness and the pool was a great length for this. The staff were friendly and helpful.

However, the price I paid was not at all the one advertised on Booking. On top of that, if you pay by card, they charge you an extra 10%, which is not mentioned at the time of booking. The worst part is that they ask you to pay in pounds sterling, so when converted to euros, the final bill is much higher than expected. I find it unacceptable that these details are not clearly stated upfront on Booking. In my opinion, the value for money is disappointing, and the price is far too high for the level of service.

The staff is really lovely, always smiling and extremely helpful, with a special mention to one team member who was incredibly kind and went above and beyond during our stay. The rooms are spacious, the pool is very nice and well-maintained, and the direct access to the sea is a real plus. Breakfast was good and varied.

A wonderful place! A hotel right by the beach – perfect for relaxation. Atmospheric, with a super friendly manager Jorhy, delicious food, and polite staff. You might have to wait a bit for the meals, but it’s absolutely worth it for such an amazing culinary experience – truly a piece of paradise. Highly recommended!

I would have thought all rooms would have fridges in the room at a hotel like this regardless of room cost. My room only had a fan, and it was quite warm. However, I'd rather be too warm than cold, and sometimes I get too cold with AC, but that could be a consideration for others. I think the breakfast options could have been better. I'm not sure if they do buffet style when it's busier. Having said that, I really enjoyed the string hoppers when they offered them.

The location is great. Just back from the beach and I could see it from my balcony. Lovely sunbeds with shade on the beach. You can also dine on the beach at night, which was lovely. The food that i tried was nice. The pool was the perfect size for doing laps. Sunbeds around the pool, which was nice. The room and balcony were nice. I asked for a kettle, which was provided. Staff were very friendly. If you walk along the beach to the right, there were other options for dining. The area was very quiet but I quite liked that.

There are no toiletries in the dispensers. There is still construction on site, but it really did not bother us at all

The room was large, and the bed was comfortable with clean linen. The location was good for us as we had a self drive Tuktuk, so we went out each day to explore the surroundings and get our lunch. The pool is great and large enough for lengths for exercise. Breakfast is also very good, especially the Sri Lankan breakfast. The serving staff are exceptional. We ate here 2 of our 3 nights, and it was also excellent. The beach towels are very luxurious, and you are offered filtered water in reusable glass bottles for free. The balcony was also very large and a wonderful space to sit. You are only a few metres walk from the beach where you have the use of very comfortable sunbeds in the shade of the palm trees.

We loved the Beach which was very quiet and the staff was very motivated and nice. The terrace was big and we were also given beachtowels. The food is simple but Tasty.

We had an amazing time at HP, the location on one of the best beaches we have been to is superb. We had an hugely chillaxing break! There is also an amazing pool and the staff - especially the young man who is the manager - are wonderful… I could not praise them highly enough. The hotel is great value, even if you opt for the AC rooms, which I would recommend. The restaurant serves a good selection of dishes which are great value and tasty. They have a tuk tuk on hand at very reasonable rates to help with transfer to the train station and other places nearby. There is also an excursion boat available which charges separately.

The staff are so accommodating and can’t do enough for you. I like to see how the management arrived and is constantly looking for ways to improve the property. Location is perfect being right on the beach and just a walk from other places to eat dinner on the beach.

The staff, Arun and Sareth, were excellent. Arun was constantly attending to many issues with great efficiency and humour. Location right on the picturesque beach, with a nice pool. Breakfast fine. Dinner on the beach a great treat. All very good.

Right now they got some construction work ongoing until late at night at 2am, so it was a bit noisy. But they have to build sometime, and now it's the time. It's ok and understandable that they work late at night.

A wonderful place to stay! The stuff is great, the food good and the pool besides the ocean, it's lovely and relaxing! But please don't take the rooms without AC. That's out fault yes, but it's impossible to get them cooled down even in the night so that we couldn't sleep. But as I said, our own fault. Spend more money and relax even better. But the price gap is very high in my opinion for AC. That's why I take down to 8 stars. The rest is just perfect and we would come back with AC!

Leaving! A kettle in the room would have been great.

Exceptional staff, great breakfast, great dinners by Juliette who checks you are happy and cooks to your level of spiciness, amazing location, Great snorkeling 5min boat ride off Pigeon Island, we went 3x! Spotlessly clean, beach towels, reading lights, drinking water as much as you want is provided, fridge in room, comfy beds, the staff here are a great team who look after you exceptionally well, especially Pragash who goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is amazing! Nothing is too much bother from changing us to a quieter room, organising a motorbike for us, providing extra bedding and checking on us to make sure everything was perfect. We left here feeling like family.

the staff was super available - I had a really late check in and check out. I really appreciate their kindness in everything. it’s a really quiet place so perfect for relaxing and for family time. I went for a cabana with no a/c...entirely my fault. Slept with door open and fan on to keep cool. If you have issues with heat, book an a/c room.

Excellent pool, good food, very helpful staff. I'd loved to have stayed longer. Pool was my reason for booking here, as I love to swim laps. Its big enough to get a good swim, and as accommodation is quiet I had the pool to myself.

High Park hotel exceeded all of my expectations. We had booked a cabana but were given an upgrade to a room with a balcony. The grounds are beautifully maintained as well as the pool which is huge. The beach out front is beautiful and lounge chairs are provided. The breakfast is super with a choice of western or Sri Lankan. All of the food at the restaurant has been delicious and very well priced - less than at the nearby beachfront restaurants. But what is the most exceptional is the staff. Your wish is their command.

The only suggestion would be a mosquito net over the bed.

The staff is so kind and attentive, there was always someone tending to the garden, preparing a chair at the beach for you, felt very well looked after. Also, I was confused by the comments, but I really feel like it was a good value for money. The breakfast was very good. I also had dinner there once and really enjoyed the prawn curry. The bungalow was nice and clean. During the day it was hot inside, but at night it was confortable with the fan.
