We had an amazing time at the Hidden Slope Cottage. The view from the room was exceptional (what a treat!). I wish I could wake up here everyday. Chamila and her family took great care of us and helped us to plan 2 amazing days in Ella. The cooking class hosted by Chamila was one of the highlights of our entire trip. The full body couples massage they organised for us was incredible. The property is super close to the train station.

Amazing location hidden and quiet but still close to the main city, there is a bit of walk up a hill. Super nice owner and cottage the food was nice as well. Some bugs but it’s like that everywhere here and there bug nets there we had no ac but with open door and windows felt nice even in aug. We had some problems with the hot water as well. Still greatly recommend this place isa real gem

We sent a bag full of clothes and didn’t receive it completely dried. It was also not as clean. Ella was raining on that day, it wasn’t in his control but it was unpleasant for us as we would travel the very next morning. We just didn’t know that it was a home laundry service. Also, the owner requested us to make a check out earlier than we should. (At 10 instead of 1030)

This place is tucked right in the middle of a tea plantation, with an incredible view of a majestic Buddhist monastery perched on the mountain just across. At night, the room filled with fireflies — they actually made their way in and looked like little LEDs on the ceiling. Even though it’s close to the touristy part of Ella, it’s surprisingly peaceful. Getting there involves a bit of a hike, but it’s totally worth it. And don’t miss the banana pancake for breakfast — seriously good. What really made the stay unforgettable was the host. He helped carry our backpacks and our kids, always checked in to see if we needed anything, and spoke excellent English. Just a genuinely kind and thoughtful person.

The wifi/data signal wasn't great but this isn't a problem if you don't need it for work etc. The room was a little damp but have found that is quite common in this area/region.

We loved the location and view from Hidden Slope Cottage! It was a short walk from the train station and main street in Ella. The hosts were friendly, offering tea on arrival and provided breakfast/dinner upon request. If you are looking for a peaceful play to stay with an amazing view, highly recommend!

if you’re looking for quiet and remote place with amazing view this is it! Be aware there’s a lot of insects and you have to walk through steep field so you have to carry your suitcase.

The best place we stayed in Sri Lanka. The location is perfect, a 10-15 minute walk from the main town but secluded with an amazing view at the same time. The hosts are very sweet and helpful, they offer many different services and amazing food (at great prices). Highly recommended!

A kettle available for the guests would be a nice addition, especially for the rainy days.

It was a fantastic stay in a beautiful location. The host was just incredible! As the train to Ella was delayed, he waited for us in the rain on the side of the road for ages, to show us a way to the cottage. He then cooked us a delicious late-night meal and continued cooking for us every day of our stay. The cottage has hot water and is comfortable, and the view is just stunning! We really didn't like the vibe and noise of Ella but as the cottage is situated slightly out of town, we felt like we were in a different place, surrounded by the hills and monkeys rather than karaoke nights and drunken partygoers. We recommend the cottage to everyone who's after a peaceful stay in nature.

I loved everything, the owner and his family are stars, they make everything possible to make you feel like home. It was just amazing, super clean, super friendly. just perfect. It exceeded my expectations. You are in the middle of a tea plantation WOW!!!, sooo quiet and still so close to the train station. An absolute gem. This place is highly recommended :-) This is the place to stay in Ella :-)

No water kettle. About 200 steps up to reach a road. No tuktuk access at all.

Nice, very remote little hut in a wonderful green garden, with a smashing view into a beautiful green valley. With a little luck I spotted monkeys in the trees around, and porcupines between the tea plants on the way above the hut. It is a very reasonable price and it is a simple, clean place. I liked it!

Lovely little home only a short walking distance from town, surrounded by nature and tea plantations. The room is nice and clean, hot shower and they also cook for you if you need.

Everything was Ok.

The view was excellent and the cottage was on it's own, so no noisey neighbours. No noise from the road as the cottage was far enough away for comfort, but not too far to walk. The owner was always very helpful and friendly. He provided food whenever I asked for it, which saved me going to a restauarant. I woud recommend this property.

Wow!! We cannot say enough about the hosts and this property! The hosts (Tissa and his family) were caring, attentive, and warm. We ordered breakfast each morning and it exceeded our expectations. The hosts offer a variety of services that we did not take advantage of (such as scooter rentals). We did book a massage and were happy with the process and service. The property is a private cottage down a steep slope with an incredible view and only a short walk (10 minutes depending on your pace) from the shops and restaurants in Ella. We enjoyed the sounds of nature rather than the town--perfect!! Due to its location, it is not accessible for everyone. In that case, consider the hosts other property up on the road Tree Cool.
