Perfect place, quiet, green environment with a super friendly and correct family runned hotel. Rooms and bathroom were clean and the lady of the house sure knows how to cook! I reaaaally enjoyed the dinner so no need to go down town if you’re not up to it. Breakfast was superb too! Laundry service was also very nice after a week in travel mode. They’ve got a couple of friends that are happy to take you on a tour or wanna do some sight seeing. Lal took me on several fully packed sight seeing tours in the Kandi area and the waterfalls at Ramboda area on my way to Nuwara Eliya. I would highly recommend him as your tour guide. He also knows some very nice local food places too. Better to book a guide via the families trusted friends then via PickMe.

Just as a note, the location might be a bit far but you can easily call a taxi or rent a tuk tuk

The accommodation was clean, spacious and comfortable. Beautiful villa with amazing breakfast. What we loved the most was the warm welcoming and politeness of the manager. Perfect level of English as well which is always a plus; we had enjoyable conversations

From the moment you arrive at Hanthana Jungle View Homestay, you feel like family. Leslie and his wife are incredibly warm and welcoming — true Sri Lankan hospitality! You can even arrange a Tuk Tuk pickup with Samantha, who will greet you with a big smile and help with your bags. Upon arrival, Leslie welcomed me with fresh fruits, homemade cookies, and a cup of delicious tea — the perfect start to a peaceful stay. The homestay is nestled right in the jungle, surrounded by nature and birdsong. It’s quiet, cozy, and truly a hidden gem. They also offer very affordable and absolutely delicious breakfast and dinner. Every meal was cooked with love and full of local flavor. I would recommend this beautiful place to anyone visiting Kandy. Whether you’re seeking comfort, connection, or a break from the city noise — this is it!

Everything went good.

Hantana hill is gorgeous, very quiet and beautiful. The hosts are kind, welcoming, waited for me since my train was late and prepared me a dinner on previous request. They also gave me the contact of a tuktuk driver to arrive at the stay. You have to be aware that it’s quite a steap street, I would not recommend to go up by foot. But I went down walking diring the day and it was nice, it took 30 mins to the city centre.

The building is a bit dated, which is noticeable but didn’t detract much from the experience. The shower pressure was on the weaker side, though the water was consistently warm, so it wasn’t a big issue.

The stay was an excellent value at just $10 per night, plus breakfast for $3. All the staffs were incredibly kind and welcoming, making the experience very pleasant. Breakfast had a great variety of fruits, which was a huge plus for me. I really appreciated the large table in the living room, which made working on my PC comfortable and spacious. The room itself was quite spacious and had clean bed sheets and pillows, adding to the overall comfort.

I absolutely loved my stay at Hanthana Jungle View Holiday Home. Leslie and the whole family are so lovely and helpful. I had breakfast and dinner here and it was delicious with huge portions. The breakfast includes lots of (mainly homegrown) fruit. Leslie can help you get tuk tuks into town or organise tours around Kandy.

It is a bit far from town to talk in so you will need a lift, but the host is very happy to arrange this for you!

The host was really lovely and helpful. He picked us up from the station and was able to drive us around where ever we wanted to go in Kandy. We also had breakfast everyday there which was delicious and very cheap, same for a lunch we had! The room was a great size, clean and came with mosquito nets. We travelled with a baby and they were very happy to see him! I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in Kandy.

Beuatiful place, great food, super friendly family run business set a away from the smoke and bustle of kandy city. Banana, papaya trees in the garden so you’re never short for a snack. Would love to return in avocado and lychee season 😀Facilities top notch, rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean with excellent facilities

An absolutely amazing all round place to stay. Leslie and his wife are really accommodating and go above and beyond to make sure you are catered for and happy. We stayed for a single night on 2 separate occasions, first in a double double room and then in a big double room. Both were very good with bug nets, AC and ensuite. Our first nights stay, we arrived late but we been talking to Leslie on the phone so dinner was ready for us as well as the amazing homegrown selection of fruits they have. Our second night's stay leslie personally drove us to the train station in the morning which I thought was very nice of him. The dinners and breakfasts were lovely with them being arranged to come out when it suited you best! We had many long chats with Leslie aswell learning about his life and time working for the Sri Lankan government. This was maybe one of the highlights of our trip as he is such a kind and interesting person. We will remember Leslie for a very long time! :) The location is out of Kandy a bit but only a 5 minute tuk tuk. The hills are quite steep as the homestay is located up the valley side a bit so tuks tuks are recommended to get back. The nature and surroundings are great with lots of birds and butterflies flying around the house. For such a cheap price this is a very big must stay from me!

When we arrived at the property we were blown away by the beauty of the area, it is tucked away up in the hills away from any noise, with lush greenery all around. Leslie and his family greeted us on arrival, helped us with our bags and got us settled in with tea and snacks. They cooked us the most beautiful dinners every night and were so helpful with any travel advice we needed. Leslie and his family went above and beyond our expectations and nothing was too much trouble for them. We would stay here over and over again if we could! The room was really spacious and comfortable, 10/10!

it was very quiet. the room had an AC which was helpful to cool down the room temperature before sleeping. we had as well a desk and chairs in front of the room to sit outside.
