How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The staff were incredible, friendly and helpful. The rooms were cosy, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Good location with great restaurant nearby.

Very close to a nightly carnival, which has loud music blasting late into the evening. There’s also quite a bit of hotel construction noise leading up into the evening.
Nice large clean and comfortable room for the entire family. Nice views of the lake. Pleasant staff from checking in, to check out.

Nice, friendly place next to the lake, in the high altitude. There was no airco, but there was no need at all. The breakfast was served by the staff in 3-4 rounds… delicious, and extra portion!

All was good
Clean and a very large breakfast couldn’t eat it all so they packed it up for our lunch . Very helpful staff.

For breakfast they charge LKR 3000/pax
The location and room was awesome. Luckily when I was there, a carnival is going nearby. We enjoyed a lot. Walkable distance to the Gregory lake.

The hot water needed a long time to come like 20 min.
It was warm, helpful staff, great location, they also ordered the taxi for us. They also provided the decoration for our birthday in our room.

There was very limited hot water, which was slightly inconvenient since we were travelling with family and the weather was cold.
The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and facilitative. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. The room was sufficient and had a great view of Gregory lake.

The heater in our room was not working properly, and the pressure of the head shower was mostly really low

Cleanliness could be improved. Probably due to the humid weather but visible mold in the bathroom and on some windows. Windows also let in a lot of coldness. Room was also extremely cold during the night, after calling the reception they told us there is a (quite old) heater in the wardrobe, which helped a bit. The soundproofing of the room is also far from good, so expect quite some noise during the night if your room is on the side of the road.
It is at a relatively good location and staff is nice.

Inner bathroom door didn't close all the way due to the bath protruding into the doorway. Food was a little expensive but it is a boutique hotel so can't complain too much

I had a great experience during my stay! The staff provided excellent service-friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. The location was perfect, making it easy to access nearby attractions. The cleanliness of the hotel was impressive, with well-maintained spaces throughout. My only suggestion would be to have slightly more room space for added comfort. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I’d definitely consider returning!

Breakfast not buffet. Food toooo expensive compared to other hotels in Sri Lanka. Jacuzzi not holding water. Too much noise around, was a loud music somewhere. Nothing to do around.
The room size was great. The bed was really comfortable. I was upgraded the room but jacuzzi was not holding the water and it was not that simple to operate.

Room was roadside so could sometimes be a little noisy with traffic Bathroom is cold, would be great to have a built in heater (the hotel did provide an electric plug in one for the room)
Hotel was in an excellent location, only a short walk to the main town and 2 minute walk to a great bar. Staff were very efficient and eager to support, really appreciated being given fresh towels and water
