Holiday For me and my family, staying in Grand freedom was a wonderful experience. Kindness of Sayith and his family can't be described by any kind of words. All the time of our stay, we felt really warm welcomed, as we are in our own home. The place is beatiful, very peacefull and relaxing, but yet on a great location, close to all attractions. Rooms are big and cosy with comfortable beds, everything perfectly clean. The food is absolutely delicious, lots of varieties, everything homemade from fresh organic ingredients. We highly recommend this place, don't miss it. Thanks to Sayith and family 🙏🙏

If you like nature and you want to be immerse in the real Sri Lanka: Welcome to paradise! I loved the place so much that I decided to extend one more night. The bedroom is big, the terrace is so chill, but the best of the best are the breakfast and dinner, cooked with local ingredients ! Thanks to Sajit and his family for taking care of me, I felt like home. I was lucky enough to see a squirrel when I was reading in the terrace. Can’t stop thinking about how relax I was feeling. Hope to come back soon. Around the place: -30sec walk to the local supermarket -5mins walk to the number 1 Ayurveda and massage center in the area (Wasala center) -5mins walk to the wood carving & handicrafts workshop -around 10mins walk to Sigiriya -Less than 10 minutes drive to Pidurangala (amazing for Sunrise)

We had a wonderful stay in Sigiriya! The homestay was cozy and the curries were absolutely delicious. It was the perfect base for hiking both Pidurangala Mountain and Lion Rock, with both just a short distance away. ❤️ We enjoyed some truly yummy curries in the cute Garden! 🪴 The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, and shared so many interesting stories about Sri Lankan culture. We learned a lot and felt truly connected to the place. He also gave us great recommendations for places to visit nearby, which made our stay even more special. Our stay was wonderful. They helped us with an early check-in, and upon arrival, they kindly prepared a very complete breakfast for us, even though it was not included that day. They arranged a special dinner for us in a very charming setting. The entire family treated us amazingly and helped us with everything we needed.

Our stay at this guesthouse was absolutely wonderful! The host was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. The location is perfect, with easy access to local attractions. The breakfast was delicious and authentic, showcasing the best of the local cuisine. On top of that, we requested dinner, and it was simply amazing—highly recommended! The host also helped us discover some hidden gems in the area and even drove us to Sigiriya Rock and back, which was such a thoughtful gesture. It truly cannot get any better than this. If you’re looking for a warm, welcoming stay with incredible hospitality and fantastic food, this is the place!

This is a lovely accommodation nearly in the middle of the jungle. Sajith was an amazing host who was super kind and told us so much about Sri Lankan culture, politics and Buddhism. He also showed us a nice view point that isn’t as crowed as the other famous once’s in Sigiriya 😌 The breakfast was so so good every single morning with a huge variety of truly Sri Lankan dishes and each and every single one of them tasted amazing!

The accommodation consists of two separated little houses, each one lovingly designed, and offers a great value for money choice. The host and his family are super friendly & welcoming, provide outstanding traditional breakfast (& dinner on request) and share good stories & tips what to do. Sajith (host) event took us on a little hike to a nearby mountain that has a great view over the surrounding landscapes. We enjoyed his funny stories about various encounters with wild elephants that live nearby a lot. Quiet location with good access to sightseeing spots. Easy check-in & check-out process, payment is done before check-out in cash. Would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a deep dive into the real Sri Lankan culture.

Loved staying at Grand Freedom! Really great value for the size of the rooms. It’s a very small guesthouse with only two rooms (for now!) which was awesome because it felt super quiet and homey! The family truly went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, and the homemade dinners were absolutely incredible!

Sajjid and his family where the perfect hosts, he had some great recommendations of things to do in the area. He organised a safari and local cooking class for us along with some viewpoints to go to. The breakfast was delicious and the dinner was some of the best food we have had in Sri Lanka its a must try. Cant recommend the stay enough

The accommodation was quite humid but that's to be expected given the location but don't expect to dry wet clothes in your room (I'm sure the owners can arrange that for you tho)

A nice value accommodation around 30 minutes walk from Sigiriya. We had nice conversations during the breakfast where we were able to ask questions about Sri Lanka.

What a wonderful stay we had here. The owner is so friendly with great recommendations, the breakfast is a complete feast and so delicious, and I highly recommend having dinner here too! The rooms are huge, comfortable bed, and a very relaxing surrounding. Highly recommend!

Everything was perfect!!

A wonderful welcome to Sri Lanka! Sajit and his family were the perfect hosts. The room was clean and inviting, with warm showers and our own private outside space. Sajit was incredibly helpful in showing us the local area and organising excursions. Our dinner was possibly one of the best meals we have ever had - a selection of curries cooked but his mother, and the breakfast was delightful!

We liked everything. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by Sajith and his family. From then on he was completely attentive to our needs, taking us to see local beauty spots and sharing his knowledge about the wildlife, plants and local temples. It was all so interesting. Sajith also arranged our safari and helped us to organise our onward trip. This was invaluable! Wi-fi actually worked really well but Sajith’s local knowledge was much better than Wi-fi! We had dinner both nights, why wouldn’t we? The food, service and setting was just perfect. Breakfast was equally good. If you are planning on going to Sigiriya booking this accommodation is a must!

I absolutely loved staying here. The hotel is very well designed, super clean, calm and cosy. It is situated in a quiet place and the atmosphere is peaceful. I would recommend this place for people who want to rest in tranquility after visiting Sigiriya. The owner is very helpful. He is always available for any requirement. He helped me to organise safari, village tour, transfer to Trincomalee, brought me to see Dambulla. All that for a very reasonable price. Totally recommend this place and wish the owner and his family future flourishing and success in their business.

Great host! Great food! You must have the mums curry for dinner! Organized bikes for us and recommended different viewpoints to visit. Really great location and good grounds. Recommend!
