This is more like staying with your grandparents than a hotel. The room is a little musty but altogether absolutely fine. The location is terrific and the price is great. It has a pleasant welcoming atmosphere and a nice common area if you want to chat to the other guests.

This is a great little back packer style place close to the station right in the centre of town. It's run by a charming old gentleman and the price is very reasonable. We would definitely stay again.

Nice place to stay. I did the Pekoe Trail trekking from Haputale to Ella, and this place is close to the endpoint and budget-friendly, which is why I chose it. The host uncle and aunty were very kind and welcoming. Everything was good, but I feel they can improve a few things to attract more guests, like adding hot water facilities, providing toilet rolls, and maintaining better cleanliness. It would also be helpful to have a bin in the room. Otherwise, for the price, the room was okay. The mattress was comfortable, and the towels and bedsheets were very clean.

Originally accidentally booked a tent which whilst comfortable wasn't what we were after, the owner transferred us to a room the following day. The hot water didn't work so we had cool showers but given the climate it wasn't a problem. A little bit noisy at night due to NYE parties nearby but we got used to it and it didn't bother us after the 2nd. Few flies snuck into the room but spray got rid of them and pretty normal for Sri Lanka.

Such a lovely host and wife. The host organised a really safe and reliable tuk tuk driver for us at a reduced price. He also helped with bus and train timetables and dropped us at the bus when we left. The breakfasts were delicious and huge - well worth the small extra cost. Such a convenient location. Cheap laundry service. Definitely recommend this place as a really friendly and welcoming homestay style of accommodation.

Washroom disappoints me. I knew it will be a basic , but it went below the range, no mirror even. There is only one charging option (3 PIN Flat) placed outside the cabin, so you have to wait until your gadgets are charged up. You better carry a multi plug.

We wanted a tent house experience and it is. location is very close to Ella railway station.

Didn’t spend the whole night as I have a fear for insects and sadly some laying insects got in my room. Its absolutely not the place’s fault as it is normal, and since it was rainy it might have caused them to be more interested in my bedroom light 😅 They were super kind in trying to let them out and it actually worked. However they kept coming back idk how and since I was not feeling comfortable I decided to leave before checkout. However this is just my experience and the hosts were kind !

It's a old constructed property. It requires regular maintenance.

It's location. It is at a walking g distance if 250 meters or so. Old property. Many food joints starts from just outside the property and after the tunnel the main market of Ella start. In the main market there are many Super markets, banks, ATM's, Restaurant's etc. Great location. We feel at home Very nice behavior of the host and his wife. A good wifi. Good for 1 or 2 days stay.

Accommodation and facilities were a little tired/dirty and some bugs, but we expected this for the price.

Great location and really lovely hosts- so friendly! Really good value for money. Fan was really good- didn’t matter that we didn’t have AC.

The bathroom was really old, but still okay for the money you pay. We gave them our laundry, but unfortunately it didn’t smell that nice, after we got it back..

A little noisy and a some traffic fumes which are to be expected in one of the more congested but central areas of ella. It is very close to the station though so 6 of one...

The owners are super kind, helpful and hospitable. Most people struggle at this point in their journey around Sri Lanka because the train system is difficult to navigate. The gentleman owner is an expert and can help arrange your onward journey. Breakfast is epic! And so much of it... plus, he has his own tea and coffee grown behind the guesthouse.

Can be quite loud from the road but it was not a problem- I slept well

Very close to everything in Ella, the best owners- the lady was making breakfast each morning and it was delicious! The man guided me to Little Adam’s Peak and the Nine Arches Bridge, ordered me a tuktuk when I needed it and they were so nice!

Bedding seemed not clean

They treated us nicely. Owner even explained the surrounding nicely drawing a sketch. True sri lankan hospitality. Will visit there again.
