For us it was not a problem to stay at the resort. But if you want to experience the town of Ella or go for dinner every day, then you need tuktuks back and forth. The retreat will arrange for you and it is only a short ride away. So if you like nature don't let it stop you

Amazing place, amazing staff, amazing experience. We stayed in the tent, which is more glamping than camping. Hidden in nature, with the view on and sounds of the fall, we spend some nice time relaxing in between activities. The staff did everything to accommodate us, they decorated the tent for my sons birthday and arranged for cake and even fireworks! They arranged the tuk tuks and provided tips for sightseeing and took us on the Ella rock hike. For us Ella town was too busy and we really welcomed the peace and quiet of this place. The food was delicious!! And for my son they made special arrangements for dinner. We liked it so much we stayed another day! ❤️

Amazing location in the middle of nature. You fall asleep with the sound of a waterfall. Sunrise hike to Ella Rock with guide from the hotel is very recommendable. Also great breakfast and very helpful staff. Would definitely come again!

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and care. The food was absolutely delicious—local, fresh, and full of flavor. Every meal felt like a true taste of the region. The host was incredibly attentive and reachable 24/7. Even when there was a miscommunication about our guide’s departure time, I was able to reach them at 5:30 AM, and they immediately helped us sort things out. That level of dedication made our stay feel effortless. The tent and accommodations were spotless, offering the most breathtaking view I’ve ever experienced from a tent. We had a direct view of the waterfall, which we later visited and even stood on top of—an unforgettable moment. While the stay may feel a bit more expensive, it’s worth every penny if you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime, comfortable experience in nature. One of the highlights was hiking to Ella Rock early in the morning. The hotel has a backroute to the trail, and their guide took us along with so much care—helping us over rocks and steps while letting us go at our own pace. It made the hike feel safe, enjoyable, and truly special. The people here are genuinely warm and hospitable. Getting to Ella town was easy, as the hotel arranged tuk-tuks at very reasonable prices whenever we needed. They also organized a seamless pickup from the train station, making our journey stress-free. If you’re looking for a perfect blend of adventure, comfort, and incredible hospitality, this place is a must-visit!

Ella retreat glamping was an amazing unique experience so good I never left the property. I had ringside seats at a waterfall, and the nature was the most intense I'd seen for a long time.

We were greeted on check-in by a group of monkeys exploring the tent roof and platform. We were concerned they might get into the tent but they didn’t - they stayed for an hour and then didn’t return during our two night stay. It was very cool seeing them so close! There are also quite a few fruit flies and mosquitos but the staff bring up incense coils to keep them at bay.

This stay was amazing. The surroundings are absolutely magical and the view of the misty waterfall through the canopy is truly spectacular. The staff are so lovely and attentive and the food is fresh and delicious. We climbed the waterfall with some help from the local security guard, Manjula, who also directed us to the best place to start the Ella Rock hike. The tent is kitted out with everything you need - blankets, umbrellas, slippers, games, lights, kettle and mini fridge. A true home in the forest!

It is a little bit difficult to get to the property as it is very steep and a bumpy road, however they offer a complimentary pick up and drop off via Tuk Tuk which we used and was a very prompt service.

The bell tent certainly exceeded our expectations. Not only was the view wonderful but inside the tent itself was very spacious and had great amenities. The bathroom was also large and had a very warm shower which was not expected. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and responded very quickly to any queries we sent on WhatsApp. The breakfasts and dinner we had were homemade and delicious.

My wife was little scared of location and no hot water in morning. I guess staff was struggling how to start that. Otherwise cold ath was also good.

Not for a weak hearted person as tuktuk ride is narrow steep and bumpy. Middle of forest amazing location with beautiful waterfall view otherwise. Waterfall sound is 24x7 which is just 10 mins hike.

    Nothing !

We stayed in the tent. The waterfall view is stunning and it really feels like you are in the lap of nature. It’s like an adventure feeling, but with the luxury of a lovely tent (with lots of chill out space) and a nice bathroom. The staff is very sweet and made super nice Sri Lankan dinner for us. We would highly recommend the tent if you would like an adventurous experience in nature and yet comfortable. First day we just chilled in the tent and second day went for the Ella rock hike which starts right from the property. You need to take full tuk to go to Ella main town

To know is that you have to like nature and the sound of waterfall. And you are living in a tent.

Super nice nature surroundings high up with a nice view over the landscape and waterfall. We had to go with Tuk Tuk up on the mountain that was exiting. Normal cars can’t make the trip. Very friendly staff that took well care off you. All you need is there, even rain coats and shaving kit. You can do on hour hike up to Elle rock in the morning to see sunrise. Hot water and good toilets.
