There were some construction works in the morning during our stay. But this is temporary. The payment was only in cash.

This is a comfortable and clean hotel , very close to the center of Ella. Localization: The hotel is very near the main supermarkets, restaurants and shops, but away from the busy area of Ella. It is in a quiet area of Ella. The rooms are very large, with the necessary furniture. Good Air- conditioning Bathroom - Very good and clean. Shower with hot water and pressure Breakfast: it was the best breakfast we had in Sri Lanka. It was huge, very good and diverse. Wifi: Very good. The owner and staff are fantastic people. They were very efficient and friendly. Thanks a lot! It is a great place to stay in Ella.

The owner Obey is amazing, when we got scammed on our Ella to Kandy train tickets he secured new tickets for us, he helped with Tuktuk’s, restaurant recommendations, just a great host! Excellent laundry service and breakfast as well, would definitely stay here again!

I liked everything.

Obey is an amazing host, so careful of his clients and a so friendly person. The room was big, clean and with very nice furniture. The accommodation is in a good position, close to everything in Ella. If you have a chance, stay here!!

Couldn’t point out anything really, but if I had to be super super specific, maybe at times the warm water took a bit to come.

The room was clean and we had all the amenities we needed. The owner asked us about our time to have breakfast, gave us snacks for the road and kindly helped us with anything. A very nice stay, overall: 100% recommend!

The hotel looks new. The impression is that you are the first one sleeping in the room. Everything is very clean and very well maintained. The owner help us very much. We went to the train very early in the morning and he prepared for us a very good take away breakfast. We had a very good stay in Ella moon rock.

Absolutely amazing stay at Moon Rock Ella Hotel, truly one of the highlights of our trip! From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcome. The location is perfect: just a short, easy walk from Ella’s center, yet peaceful and quiet enough to unwind. The rooms were spacious, clean, and had a relaxed atmosphere, ideal after a day of exploring. In the morning, we were treated to a fantastic breakfast spread with everything you could possibly want: fresh fruit, eggs, pancakes, local specialties and great coffee. What truly made this place stand out, though, was the exceptional hospitality. After we checked out, someone had forgotten their shoes in the room. Before we could even panic, the host drove all the way to the train station to bring them back to us – an unforgettable act of kindness. On top of that, our laundry was returned beautifully folded and wrapped like a gift, they really care about their guests. If you’re going to Ella, don’t think twice: stay at Moon Rock Ella Hotel. We’d come back in a heartbeat!

Obey is a wonderful host, always made us feel comfortable and his staff is so friendly too! We got so many helpful infos on Ella and restaurants and he even organised a driver for our next stop, sending us off with water and something sweet to eat :) the breakfast is delicious and plenty! The room super clean and with additional drinking water and even a small fridge. The place is super quiet to sleep well in the night and very easy to reach by foot to anywhere. AC and warm water worked wonderful. We never even needed a Tuk Tuk to get anywhere around Ella, as the place lies away from the loud streets but close to everything else. Thanks so much for everything, we would definitely come back here!

the location is great, right in the city centre but outside the noise of the main street. the owners are also super welcoming and helping. room is good, with a nice shower - but many mosquitos around. breakfast is amazing.

Nothing it was perfect!

Everything. Amazing location- v close to the town and all the walks etc. delish huge breki- western was omelette, hoppers, toast, fruit, fresh fruit shake and crepe! Laundry service on site which was super quick! Very clean rooms, immaculate, great AC and wifi. Lovely host and their team! Obey goes the extra mile- he sent us off with snacks and water for our train and gave us a ride to the train station! He is a real gentleman! Could not fault this place! The best place we stayed in sri lanka. Thanks obey and team.

Obey was a great host! His breakfast was outstanding, we had one western then one Sri Lankan, he went over and above for me and my family! Rooms were lovely, he even did some of our laundry and got stains out of our white clothing !

Unfortunately, there was some construction going on at an adjacent property that created noise issues on 1 day of our 3 day stay. Certainly not the fault of Ella Moon Rock and presumably only a temporary nuisance.

Clean, comfortable room with a great location close to town. The owner and his family are tremendous hosts. I couldn’t recommend them strongly enough.

We stayed here on our way from Ella to Nuwara Eliya. Obey made us feel very welcome and saw to it that we had everything we needed. The room and bathroom facilities were excellent and the breakfast superb. 2 minute walk to Ella town and shops. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful and comfortable bedroom.

Beautiful room, comfortable, it has everything you need, and has a balcony. It’s a short walk to the train station, the bars, restaurants and nightlife, but very quiet at night. The hosts were expecting us and welcomed us with a fresh fruit juice and a big smile! Breakfast was amazing; they accommodated our vegan diet, and we had the best breakfast of our whole trip. They even gave us a little gift before we leave and offered to drive us to the train station. The view wasn’t breathtaking, but everything else made it up for it.

We stayed here for 2 nights, it's a 3-bedroom property where you are made to feel like you are not just a number. Obey and the rest of the team provided a very personalised service and an amazing - Sri Lankan - breakfast! Definitely recommended.
