The rooms were all individually locked, which was challenging with children as 2 were sleeping on their own. The rooms were a little tired, and the biggest room had an odour of mould. Hot water didn’t work in one of the bathrooms. There was an outdoor living area, but this was also the walk through for the family to get to the kitchen. With breakfast the cost was £78 per night for 5 people, which was slightly more than we have paid for a higher standard of accommodation elsewhere, but Ella is an expensive city for tourists.

Ideal location for Ella, walking distance to the main stretch of restaurants. Dilrukshi was incredibly friendly and helpful, providing extra sheets. She prepared a lovely breakfast each morning.

Nothing really. The rooms don't have aircon but we knew that before we booked and the area is cool and breezy.. Also the entrance to the property is up some steep metal steps but this wasn't a problem for us and we were helped with our bags.

Lovely quiet setting only a 10 minute walk from Ella. Host was amazing and really looked after us. She also runs a fab cooking course. Nice veranda with chairs outside the room to soak up the peace and quiet.

The owner are very friendly and helpful. You will stay in a nicely tended accomodation with terrace. You are in the center by feet in 5 minutes. You can choose your breakfast and we would recommend the tasty Sri Lankan breakfast.

We had an amazing stay in Ella Green stay! The best place we stayed in Sri Lanka. Just a small walk to the center. Very clean, good bed, good shower, quiet and I advise to take a cooking class, the best food you will have. Also very good breakfast!

I loved how welcome we felt from the moment we got off our tuk tuk. This was a last minute book and definitely one of my favourite places that we stayed. Dilrukshi was a fabulous host and took amazing care of us. The Ella green stay is in a great location. Not too far from the shops and restaurants but far enough to feel relaxed and peaceful when you arrive back.

Lots of steps to climb up to the place, with our bags. Also, there is a shorter route up but it's not sign posted from down below. Room a little cramped for 4 people.

Dilrukshi was very friendly and helpful - tea on arrival, did an early breakfast for us with our train to catch. Place was beautifully clean and wi-fi was fast. Breakfast was very tasty. Location good, short stroll to center of Ella. Couches out on the balcony were lovely.

The ladies at this place really do look after their customers. Extremely helpful and obliging. They are trying their best to run an honest business. Many of them turned up at the car park to help with our luggage. There was nothing to dislike about this place. But be aware one needs to negotiate several steps to get to the property.

Dilrukshi was a fabulous host. She answered any question with a smile and was more than happy to help with anything. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. The location was great for us, a 5-10min walk from town which felt close but was far enough away from the loud noise of the town.

The host family was super friendly and very accommodating. They served hoppers for breakfast which were fantastic and allowed us to taste more authentic local food.

The hotel is set back from the main area of Ella, accessible by foot or tuktuk and only a short 300m walk away from the railway station. The hotel was clean, comfortable and provided a good breakfast, the staff were friendly and the gardens were lovely and well cared for, there are steps up to the property but assistance with luggage is on hand if required. Mosquito nets were available above all beds.

The location was so central to Ella, and our host was exceptional, she went out her way to help, give advice and look after us, plus her coconut sambol was the best we had in our whole 3 weeks travelling around Sri Lanka, we were sad to find out she does cooking classes, if you stay please try and book with her!

Single bed in the room was quite uncomfortable.

Breakfast was very nice with an abundance of freshly prepared food. The host was most welcoming and informative. The location is 350 metres from the town centre.

Our stay at Ella Green Stay was an absolute delight. Nestled nearby breathtaking greenery, it felt like our own secluded treehouse. The location, though peaceful and private, was still within easy reach of the town center. Every morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast prepared by our warm and welcoming host. Her kindness and generosity truly made our stay unforgettable. Ella Green Stay is more than just accommodation, it's an experience enriched by waking up to the sounds of nature and the warmth of genuine hospitality

A little off the path from central, Ella sits this gorgeous family owned accommodation. Dill met us at the steps of the property and carried my husband's case to our spacious , comfortable rooms. We travelled with our young adult sons, and they were in the next room to us enjoying a king bed each. The property is landscaped to create a peaceful environment, and there are plenty of comfortable couches available to sit and soak in the ambience. Dill's breakfasts are delicious, and her knowledge of Ella and surrounds has been extremely helpful to us. We will be sad to leave .
