Our stay at Ella County House was perfect. The room was spotless, very spacious, and comfortable—with an amazing view and a lovely balcony. The breakfast was freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. The property is centrally located, just a 3-minute tuk-tuk ride from Ella town, where you'll find a great selection of restaurants. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive. A special mention to Thivagar, who was exceptionally helpful and managed everything flawlessly. We highly recommend this place!

We loved our stay at Ella Country House, particularly our large private balcony which looked out onto stunning mountain scenery. The staff were helpful and friendly, and provided a generous breakfast to our room so we could eat whilst watching the monkeys. The main strip of shops and restaurants was a 5 minute walk away, and we loved some of the local restaurants. Our room had a big comfy bed which you could see the mountains from, mosquito net around the bed, good WiFi and AC, a fridge, tea and coffee facilities, and lots of places to sit.

What a gorgeous room overlooking Ella Rock! Super clean, best shower we have had in Sri Lanka and super comfortable bed! We had breakfast included but we were leaving at 6am the hosts prepared a takeaway breakfast for us to have on the train! So kind! 5 mins walk into town or hosts will organise a tuk tuk 🛺! I liked everything

This was my favourite hotel we’ve stayed at so far in Sri Lanka! The room was huge and really nice and clean with modern facilities and a new TV. The view from the balcony was breathtaking! Every morning we were brought breakfast with fresh fruits and juices to have on the balcony which was so so nice. The owner was super lovely and helpful and helped us with taxis and tuktuks etc. I loved this hotel so much, I actually wanted to extend my stay but unfortunately it was fully booked, however the owner helped us with finding a new hotel and arranged our taxi from Ella for us. The hotel was just a short walk from Ella centre. 10/10 experience would highly recommend!

The view from the room was breathtaking. The washroom was very clean and big with all necessary amenities. The room had a magnificent surrounding sound system. The breakfast was delicious. The location was also very convenient, just near the city and train station. Lastly, our host Anu was a sweetheart. She suggested local restaurants and places to visit in ella.

Road noise was downside but it was ok I had good night sleep , bed was really big clean and comfortable so all was good .

Absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! The view was just breathtaking, and the location is perfect—so close to the city centre. I had an early train at 6 AM, and they kindly prepared a takeaway breakfast for me, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Highly recommend!

Steps down to the apartment - safe but care needed if wet during rains

Spacious apartment with a large outdoor terrace providing fabulous views of the mountains with surrounding natural habitat (fruits, monkeys) Wonderful breakfast served on our terrace. Large bathroom with a good pressure shower. At the end of the Main street but still within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. Excellent, helpful host

Wifi is not the fastest, so if you need stable internet it’s better to have a good data plan.

Beautiful rooms with a gorgeous view of the hills. Huge balcony with big glass wall, so you can admire the view from your bed too. The staff are super kind, they brought the breakfast to the room every morning and we had the breakfast on the balcony. Lovely sri lankan breakfast that varied a bit every day. They helped us with every request, and the woman (i think she is the owner) packed us fresh fruit for breakfast when we were leaving at 6AM :) unfortunately the bathroom door lock broke in our room but they fixed it within a few hours (crazy efficient) I really recommend staying here. Good breakfast, comfortable rooms, amazing view, nice house with lots of plants, only 7 minute walk to Ella center (and the supermarket)

Cosy, clean room with great views. Nice breakfast. Needs updating a bit. Sink was a bit blocked and only the waterfall shower worked. It was good value for the money and 5 minute walk to edge of town.

As others said, there is street noise. Occasionally a very loud truck will pass but the other traffic was not annoying. I am a light sleeper and I managed to get a good night sleep without ear plugs. The monkeys do jump on the steel roof occasionally and they are louder than the traffic. There is a TV and quite a few speakers but there was only one battery in controller (this was not important to us but may be to others).

The views were incredible from our balcony and you could even lie in bed and wake up to this beautiful view. The room was large enough, ac worked well, hot water plentiful. Breakfast served on our balcony was amazing with an egg, toast, hoppers, tons of fruit, coffee or tea. We had NO monkeys bugging us at breakfast as described by others. The room has a small fridge which is great to buy beer in town and have a drink on your balcony. The staff are extremely nice, friendly and accommodating. The hotel is only a 10 minute walk from the main town where there are many restaurants to choose from. It is walking distance to Little Adam's Peak (highly recommended) and 9 Arch Bridge. I highly recommend a stay at Ella Country House.

The accomodation is also close to the road up to Ella so it can get a bit noisy at night but they provide free earplugs which is really convenient.

The stunning view from Ella Gap and the lush green mountains from inside the room and on the big terrace. Also just loved the spacious room and kingsize bed and the bathtub. The proximity to Ella centre (walking distance - only 400 meters). The daily breakfast which was plenty and delicious.
