Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAlthough we enjoyed the food in the restaurant we recommend getting a tuktuk to the local town near to lions rock for more bar/restaurant atmosphere
This was such a beautiful luxury stay in Sri Lanka. You really feel in the middle of nowhere surrounded by wildlife. Rooms were fantastic, food was delicious, treatments perfect. We loved everything about it.

United StatesHotel is located down a busy dirt road that is dark and secluded from the main road making you trapped at the hotel after sunset since we traveled Sri Lanka in a Tuktuk and the staff told us it will be dangerous to drive out because elephants can be around that road. Breakfast is extremely basic and on our only lunch that we ate there it took them 2 hours to serve us grilled chicken and soup, which was very annoying and the restaurant was empty with only one other Table being served. After complaining they said that they were first serving Room service orders before the restaurant orders ( strange answer ). Hotel is missing personality and there is not actual vibe to it as you will find in most hotels in Sri Lanka. Villa is great but there is no AC in the bathroom or shower area so once you open the door to the bathroom you get a heat stroke and have to deal with it while you are in the bathroom. At this price point I would recommend staying somewhere else.
Hotel most amazing part is the massage treatments that they offer when you book your stay. One of the best massage treatments I’ve ever had and the team was amazing. Villa was big and the staff was always available to help although they didn’t all speak English that was challenging at times. Great view of the famous Rock from the main dining area.

United KingdomThe rooms are great and the layout of the property whilst dispersed is fantastic. The beautiful reception building is so stylish and for dining provides excellent views of the grounds and towards Lions Rock.
One of the most unique stays we have had anywhere. With the possibility of elephants and monkeys and all sorts of creatures within the grounds you really feel on the edge of the jungle but in safety. Lakshan, Hesita and Rajitha were superb host and helped us above and beyond. We stayed in one of the two presidential suites and these are amazing large spaces. With your own separate pool room and plunge pool you can spread out and relax. We stayed for 4 nights over my 60th birthday and the team couldn’t have done more to make our stay a joyous occasion. The treatments were well run and very professional and we had one each day included in the price

SpainThe only downside of our stay was the lack of flexibility around the Ayurvedic treatments. Although massages were included in our package, we weren’t able to experience a single one during our three-day stay. The treatment schedule was fully booked and unfortunately not adaptable to our itinerary — even with availability in the mornings (like 8–11 AM), we couldn’t be accommodated. This is especially challenging because most guests, like us, come not only for wellness but also to explore nearby attractions like Sigiriya and other cultural sites. The current setup doesn't allow enough flexibility to balance both. Expanding the spa team and extending treatment hours would make a big difference and ensure guests can actually enjoy the full Ayurveda experience without having to choose between a massage or seeing the sights. It’s worth noting the staff were doing their best within the limits of the system — the issue lies in how the operations are organized.
Absolutely serene and soul-soothing experience! From the moment we arrived at Ayugiri Ayurveda Wellness Resort, we were enveloped in a sense of calm and peace. The location is truly breathtaking — surrounded by nature, it feels like a hidden sanctuary where every breath fills you with tranquility. The staff were outstanding — always attentive and ready to assist with anything we needed, yet never intrusive. Their warm smiles and gentle presence made us feel incredibly welcomed while still giving us the space to truly unwind and connect with ourselves. We were especially touched by their hospitality of which added a personal and heartfelt touch to our stay. The views from the dining area were nothing short of stunning — a perfect backdrop to every meal, whether sunrise or sunset. Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking to relax, rejuvenate, and reconnect with nature and themselves. Will definitely return! Special mention to lakshan, the yoga teacher and the kitchen & fb team !!

United KingdomAlthough we were happy as we were looking to unwind, the vibe is extremely relaxed and there is no alcohol etc. If you are looking for more of an uptempo atmosphere, this may not be the option for you
The property and grounds were insanely beautiful. The suites themselves were extremely spacious, clean, relaxing and private. The shower even had a ceiling window so you could look up into the nature above. Lakshan and team were the highlight. They were attentive to every request we had, organising a number of outings while still ensuring we had our daily treatments scheduled. Overall, if you are looking for a relaxing stay to unwind and feel rejuvenated leaving, this is the place for you.

United StatesI have no complaints. Maybe a weight lifting gym would be a nice addition but not exactly necessary.
Absolutely stunning! We loved how the location was very close and in a good area of Sigaria but secluded enough to not hear any cars or town noise. It was an oasis! The staff were absolutely incredible, they cared for us so attentively. The food was phenomenal, every dish left us wanting more and we find ourselves looking for a cook book that can help us create these dishes at home.

United KingdomThe remote location made it tricky to get transport to go anywhere off site. We used the ride apps but quite often found it tricky to get someone to come out to us. There were very limited activities on site, the focus really is on rest and relaxation, with the Ayurvedic treatments at the centre of it all. We spied and asked to use the 8 ball pool table and were invited to do so, which was a nice way to spend an hour together, but apart from that there wasn't much to do. The sheets and towels weren't always pristine - while I am sure they were clean and fresh, they had quite a few marks on them which is a little off putting. The room could have done with some painting or artwork to brighten it up, in keeping with the natural theme, and in the bathroom a towel hook by the shower, a shelf for toiletries in the shower and some posh toiletries would have felt better for the price we paid for the presidential suite. While the dinner was really tasty, the choice for food is incredibly limited. Breakfast is a set meal, either Sri Lankan or Western, neither of which really suited our taste. For dinner there was a choice of three main courses, while the starters and deserts were set. That said, they did keep offering to provide what we wanted, but variety was lacking (I can see why when there are only a handful of guests at a time, but this isn't made clear when booking). There is no shop onsite, and the nearest proper supermarket is a half hour tuk tuk ride away. There is nowhere to get a drink from onsite either, except water. This really is a retreat rather than a resort it seems, but with a few tweaks they could easily cater for a more varied clientele - the staff could definitely make it work if that is what the business want, I can't praise them highly enough, a real credit to the hotel.
The staff could not have done more for us, they were so attentive, kind, thoughtful, helpful and friendly. The main pool was just wonderful, and the pool attendees did a great job of clearing all the leaves and making sure we had cushions and towels, despite us being the only people using it for our entire stay. The Ayurvedic treatment that we had was really professional and a great experience, despite our reservations and uncertainty around it (just a new experience for us!) The room was big, and the bathrooms were great, and the room was made up every day. The location was so peaceful, with just the sounds and sights of nature. A little scary on the first night but we came to love it. The food for dinner was absolutely delicious and really well made, and our waiter was really attentive. We even had a really special private dinner set up for us with fire beacons and lanterns and a special mocktail, this was a highlight for us. We had bicycles to help us get around the resort, but after dark or when heading to the treatments they came and picked us up with a buggy, which was perfect. They were always on time and really easy to communicate with via WhatsApp, coming back within a couple of minutes nearly every time.

United Arab EmiratesOur stay at Ayugiri Ayurveda Wellness Resort in Sigiriya was an incredibly rejuvenating and memorable experience. The resort is surrounded by lush, beautiful grounds, and we spent hours watching the playful monkeys, which were a delight to see. The environment itself was peaceful and tranquil, a perfect backdrop for our Ayurvedic journey. The staff were outstanding—every person we interacted with was attentive, kind, and genuinely caring. They treated us like royalty, ensuring we were well taken care of at all times. A particularly thoughtful touch was the fresh, refreshing drinks made for us by the bar men, which were perfect for the warm weather. We were also treated to a surprise breakfast in the tree house, which was an unforgettable experience, made even more magical by the beautiful setting and delicious food. We also enjoyed a fantastic evening on the lawn, where we had dinner while watching the Sri Lankan cultural show and enjoying the bonfire. It was a beautiful way to experience the local culture and a great addition to our stay. The Ayurvedic food was nourishing and, while it took me a day or two to adjust to the food and flavours, I felt fantastic after enjoying the meals. The only minor repetition was with some of the fruit, but the overall quality of the food was exceptional. During my brief period of being unwell, the doctor, nurses, and therapists were incredibly attentive and supportive. The Dr ensured I received the right care, offering advice, medication, and reassurance that I could reach out for help if needed. The therapists were wonderful, but it would have been even better to have a few more staff to offer a broader variety of techniques. Additionally, we would have appreciated more explanation about the powders and oils being applied during treatments, as understanding their benefits would have enhanced the experience.

Thank you Lakshan, Buwaneka, and the rest of the Ayugiri team for making my stay at your ayuverdic resort so special! They went above and beyond by arranging a complimentary pottery class and one-on-one yoga classes in addition to the 2.5 hours of daily personalized ayuverdic treatments. I was also able to enjoy nearly every meal in a different scenic spot on the beautiful Ayugiri property while observing fireflies or wild peacocks. Also, the rooms are so lush and beautifully designed with relaxation in mind! The staff were incredibly accommodating and gracious. And the ayuverdic treatments really helped my skin issues and helped me relax after a crazy travel schedule! Thank you for such special stay Ayugiri Team!

BulgariaThe most amazing stay in Sri Lanka. Resort is surrounded by forest & lakes from all sides. Huge landscape with a direct view to the most famous Sigiriya rock. My villa had its own plunge pool facing the jungle and I was so lucky to see elephants passing by while in it. This was truly an amazing experience. Villa is huge & spacious, very clean. Staff here is so friendly and very attentive to you. They will spoil you with their love and care, I will miss their beautiful smiles. Ayurveda treatments were exceptionally good. Therapist was so kind and did an amazing job. Had a lovely herbal bath which was so relaxing with zero disturbance as it was too facing the jungle, one can only hear birds. Meals & snacks were mouthwateringly tasty. They only serve very healthy options at meal times. I wish I had more time to spend here, but most certainly be back. A big thanks to everyone at Ayugiri for this amazing experience.
