The room with its terrace was lovely, and the wildlife on the garden was interesting to watch. The owner, Randy, was exceptionally kind, helpful and generous. He went out of his way to take us in his tuk tuk to the ATM. He also gave us a guided walk around the locality, pointing out the wildlife on the lake (including crocodiles). On one very hot afternoon he brought us fresh fruit and ice cream! He was informative and very friendly.

We chose to book this place because of the amazing reviews about Randy and his family — and after just one night there, I can confidently say that every single comment was 100% true. From the moment you arrive, Randy makes you feel incredibly welcome. He's a fantastic ambassador for both his town and Sri Lanka as a whole. He'll happily show you around, share fascinating insights about the local culture and nature, and help you arrange anything you need — from safaris and tuk-tuk rides to lunch. I can't recommend staying with Randy and his lovely family enough. It was definitely one of the best experiences of our trip to Sri Lanka.

The owner Randy and his family are running a beautiful accommodation from which you can do several things. From the moment we arrived we felt at home and Randy went above and beyond to give us an experience we will never forget. He gave us free of charge a tour around the area and gave us some historical background of Buddhism, rice harvesting, buffalo's, and more. He also showed us the bats at night time, went with us to the local tyre repair shop for our TukTuk and gave good recommendations for restaurants. He is truly one of the kindest and most modest hosts we have got in our entire 4 week journey. He and his wife cooked dinner for us after a full day of safari and that was very delicious.

Wonderful room with all the amenities, perfectly working A/C, and spotlessly clean. The owners are incredibly warm and welcoming. We arrived late in the evening, and the owner kindly took us in his tuk-tuk to explore the nearby lake, pointing out the local flora and fauna. He even brought us to see the incredible bat flight at sunset—an unforgettable experience. Plus, they arrange a very nice dinner for us on short notice. Can’t recommend this place enough. Super!

Amazing, amazing, amazing! Randy was the most thoughtful host who cared about making every detail of our trip great. He picked us up and dropped us off at a bus stop nearby (including 2 friends not even staying at the property) for free and looked after us with snacks, welcome drinks, wet towels after arriving. He organised our safari and provided snacks, took us on a tour of the village and lake and was generally awesome. If you’re thinking of doing a Yala safari, stay here! Do atleast two nights to enjoy the area as well as the leopards and elephants!

If you're traveling to Sri Lanka and looking for an unforgettable experience, this is the perfect place to stay, 110% recommended!! We decided to start our month-long adventure right here. Randy, the owner, is an extraordinary person. He's committed to doing everything he can to make you happy during your stay. He's always available to accommodate all your requests, help you organize your Safari, and introduce you to the area and local traditions. His home is beautiful and comfortable, rich in detail and taste, immersed in the greenery of a natural park full of animals to observe. Air conditioning, comfortable beds, modern furnishings, and a bathroom with a shower are also included. There's also a garden with a relaxation area where you can enjoy this enchanting place and watch the animals that come to eat fruit. In addition, Randy's family prepared every day for us delicious breakfast and dinner made with local products at very reasonable prices. We were amazed by their kindness and friendliness. Our trip to Sri Lanka exceeded our expectations in every way, and in retrospect we can say that our experience at Elegant Lake Yala Safari House was the most beautiful and emotionally profound. Loved everything about the property- from the host to the little birds eating away in the front porch. We had booked this place for one night and wish we booked for more as it turned out to be the best accommodation we had in Sri Lanka in our trip. Randy took us around in the evening and we saw his beautiful village and could attend the local festival an hour away - we got really lucky. We woke up the next day for a 4:30 AM safari and Randy was there waiting for us with two bottles of water. Absolutely beautiful hospitality and kindness. We were in awe. Big thanks to Randy and his wife for such a lovely time in Yala and for making our anniversary such a special one.

Randimal, the owner,couldn't have been more accommodating. He made us welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were a good size with large windows and views of the garden. If you want to go to Yala Randimal can arrange it for you- our driver was called Nishanka and he made the safari amazing and was determined to show us as many animals as possible.

We had a fantastic stay near Yala, and Randy, our host, made it truly special. He genuinely cares about his guests and went out of his way to make our visit smooth and memorable. He helped us organize our Yala safari, provided a takeaway breakfast for our early morning start, and offered to arrange other activities in the area. The rooms are new, spacious, very clean, and come with a large bathroom and a stunning lake view. The place is peaceful and quiet at night, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Randy also showed us around the area, including the beautiful lake, local wildlife, and nearby temples. As a kind gesture, he even let us use his motorbike and gave us a tour in his tuk-tuk. Highly recommended if you're planning a safari in Yala—definitely the best value for money!

That I only booked one night, I should have stayed for 2!

I had the perfect stay here, couldn’t recommend this enough! Randy is an amazing host and truly went above and beyond for me. Picking me up from the bus stop, an arrival snack, an amazing tour of Tissa & the wildlife in the area, and also arranged my safari. The property is stunning, exactly as pictured. You can watch squirrels and birds right from your room and even see water buffalo walking along the lake.

Randy was a brilliant host, and took good care of us during our stay here! He had excellent recommendations for food and activities, and gave us an informative tour of our area in the evening. This place is EXCEPTIONAL. Without a doubt the best hospitality we have received whilst in Sri Lanka. The host (Randy) could not have possibly done more for us. He gave us snacks every day (for free!!), booked our safari for us, gave us a tour of his home village (again for free…) and showed us his beautiful garden. He is the sweetest man! I know most people stay here for one night for the safari, but you are missing out on not staying here for 2 or more nights.

Truly a gem, no wonder reviews were so high. The staff is probably the most welcoming we have ever met. Prepared us snacks, offered us some dessert in the evening after we went out for dinner, and showed us around Tissa, and also gave us lots of time for check-out after the morning safari. The safari itself was organised by them, and it was great, very prepared guide who never missed an animal and shared the most interesting insights. Room is spacious and faces a magical garden, bathroom is very big, new and clean.

Our stay at Randi's accommodation was absolutely perfect, and if I could give more than full marks, I would! We spent 4 wonderful days here and enjoyed every moment. Randi went above and beyond to make us feel at home, providing an experience we've never had before. The room was impeccably clean, modern, and beautifully designed, with all amenities meeting the highest standards. The garden offered a fantastic opportunity to observe various animals. (including hornbills!!!), adding to the charm of the place. Randi organized two incredible safaris for us, connecting us with the best guide possible. He also took the time to show us around the area, introducing us to local attractions like crocodiles and fruit bats. I have thought long and hard about this question and I honestly cannot think of a thing that needed improvement. Randy the owner is happy to go beyond what is normally expected from a host. He takes excellent care of his guests.

The breakfast had plenty of variety of excellent cooked food, plus plates of fresh fruit and fruit juices. We could have as much tea and coffee as we wanted. It was all beautifully presented.
